The hot breakfast was very good and had several hot options which is better than most moderately priced hotels. It was a very clean and well kept area.

Overall an average HI Ex.
But, because my stay was a business trip and I needed to extend my stay on several different occasions the hotel changed my nightly rate by more than double.
When the extension was asked for the front desk graciously granted it and asked for a signature on an electronic pad. Not informing me that it was for a rate increase. So when checking out it was detailed that the room charges were extremely higher. When asked why the rate was increased the only reason given was when the hotel occupancy is higher the room rate is increased also. Even thou I had already stayed more than a week they felt it was justified to double my nightly rate. Now this cost will be charged to the customer i was there to do work for, so they will be paying more for there service. So I will lose this customer because of the hotel bill and HI Ex will lose me and my company as a customer in the future also.

We've stayed at this hotel several time over the last few months. Up until our last stay I've rated it very high. Unfortunately this last visit they had put a plastic or rubber mattress pad on the bed! It was hot and very noisy when you moved! It made us sweat and stick to the sheet, making us very miserable! They really need to rethink the use of this type of pad. I will definitely rethink future stays at this location. I had thought I found the perfect place to stay during our frequent stays in the San Jose area, but I will have to look elsewhere just because of the mattress pad.

The Hotel is very clean inside and out. The Hotel's employee are very nice and helpful. Internet WiFi works very well. Breakfast are very good, but they should serve different menu every day.

i stayed on this property for >10 days. on the first day, i was assigned a room facing expressway and it was terribly noisy, i could not even sleep for a minute. requested a quiet room on the next day and it was so much better.
i returned to the same property on my 2nd trip and this time i was assigned a room facing el camino real, it was not as noisy as the room facing the expressway but still pretty noisy. it seems like majority of the hotel rooms are noisy or it was just a coincidence.
the rooms are clean but noise insulation is kind of bad, i could hear the person who stay next to my room talking, every single line!
Michelle at the front desk is good! she gave very good advice and very accommodating, keep up the good work!
i'll stay at the hotel again if i'm guaranteed a quiet room.

This was my third time at this Holiday Inn property and it was really pleasant experience (as always) with helpful staff and clean & quiet room.. Excellent amenities.. Wish I could have stayed a few days more :-)

Holiday Inn rooms are odourless, clean and it is generally a good experience to stay there. I love the morning coffee and breakfast.
A couple of points that may be improved:
- The rooms do not have enough lighting. The only available lights are the lamps on the bed side. Or you are in the dark.
- Not many power outlets available. Ideally there should be visible power outlets in various places in the room. Most of the existing ones are already occupied by the phone, or lamps.

liked having a fitness center in house, nice touch to have dinnerware out for breakfast and to go packaging. Weird layout make you have to keep your room key handy. Room was comfy, quiet. Omlets for breakfast need help. Salsa or something. Prefer scrambled eggs. Staff friendly and efficient. Loved the fresh cookies for a snack- step up from Cheetos.

In addition to being clean, stylish and well run, this hotel takes sustainability seriously. It's the best I've seen - real plates and silverware as an option, the disposable plates and bowls were paper-based instead of plastic or styrofoam, they provided recycling containers on each floor for those of us who care about keeping recyclable materials out of the landfills. I was impressed, and I will be choosing this Holiday Inn Express again.

The check in was very pleasant. They gave us an upgraded room because they did not have rooms on the floor I had previuosly requested.
We missed having any real selection of teas in the breakfast area, nor cookies in the evening that we have received on visits to other locations.

I was pleasantly welcomed by the desk staff. Being a IHG Gold member, I was given a snack, bottle of water and upgraded to a jacuzzi tub. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and I had everything I needed. My only complaint is that my room had a brightly lit walkway outside the window and the curtains did not do an adequate job at blocking the light.

As I had arrived after a long flight from New Zealand for the America's Cup, I found the Holiday Inn in Santa Clara friendly, comfortable, and the staff delightful. The staff in this facility is fantastic!
Customer satisfaction is just not a policy but it is like a religion to all of them. They go way beyond to ensure that the guests are comfortable.
Breakfast is good. But there are people who do not eat beef or pork. So once in a while providing chicken/lamb will be great!

As a frequent business traveler to the Bay Area, the Holiday Inn Express Santa Clara provides an excellent accomadation in an area dominated by higher cost hotel properties.... Rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean, staff is attentive and courtesy, and the property location ideal for easy access to multiple travel points... I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Santa Clara to those traveling for business or pleasure in the heart of Silicon Valley......

I stayed at this hotel for a week in late August for a business trip. The hotel was exactly what I was looking for: quiet, comfortable bed and room to get work done after hours. The complimentary breakfast is a nice bonus, but I'd love more healthy options.

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was weak and the water often sputtered during showers.
My only complaint, I purposely place a privacy sign on my door when I travel because I do not like having a cleaning staff in my room daily. I especially put up the sign when I leave the room, such was the case on Thursday, 8/1. However, when I came back to my room in the afternoon, I noticed that the cleaning staff had come in my room and cleaned regardless of the sign. This is completely unacceptable.
When I ask for cleaning, I prep the room by putting away valuables or taking the valuables with me when I leave. Since the cleaning staff disregarded the privacy sign, I did not have a chance to do this. While nothing appeared to be missing, it's unacceptable for cleaning staff to be disregarding privacy signs -- it defeats the purpose of such a sign and infringes upon and expectation of privacy a guest should have. I hope this issue is dealt with and the staff is reminded to respect the requests of others. Privacy signs aren't usually left up by accident, there's a reason a guest hangs it on their door.

We reserved a Jaccuzi Suite about 2 months prior to our stay, but when we arrivied were informed that the hotel was overbooked and we couldnot get the room. We were using this hotel as the last 2 days of our vacation and were looking forward to the relaxing bath, so were somewhat disappointed.

We have stayed in San Jose often and usually at another Holiday Inn Express. We changed to this hotel because of proximity to our visit. Now, no matter our visit site, we stay at this hotel. It is clean, safe, quiet, and the staff has really shown a great level of customer satisfaction focus through their friendliness, courtesy, willingness to make the arrangements fit our need, and we are always treated like valued guests!
