Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ValleyGuy66 Hotel was great, parking not so great especially having a truck very little room to manuever. Breakfast was crowded but thankfully there were tables outside. There were several helpful and friendly staff and there some not so friendly and helpful.Oh and the Pool towels were kind of small. But other than that all was good. July 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean and comfortable but way overpriced This is a new hotel (June 2913) and even smells new. Consequently everything was clean and in pristine condition. As hotels go, it's one! Nothing different about it. In our experience it was considerably overpriced which is perhaps due to time of year. It is about a mile form the beach. Breakfast is what we expected with a sufficient number of choices. Hotel staff were very courtesy and helpful. July 5, 2013

The prices were almost tripled from the usual rate because of the nearby university's graduation. What a way to be thanked for staying there every single time we went to see our son while he was at college! June 26, 2013

The staff is really great and kind... the room itself was impeccable: extremely clean and comfortable! The breakfast was perfect and the variety of food excellent. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by stiff beds , leaky showers My neck and back were stiff when I awoke then I went to take a shower and the silicone on the bottom of shower was missing sobthe floor was flooded. With a stiff back and neck I wiped everything off the floor then I went to breakfast. When I arrived down stairs there was a line of people complaining while I was on the computer waiting for a spot to sit and eat. 20 mins and no clean tables to eat at. June 22, 2013

The room was clean and we felt very comfortable being there. Only downside...the parking is quite cramped and it is difficult to park an SUV in many of the spots. June 20, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service was lacking I was quoted a rate upon booking with the hotel directly, they failed to inform me the rate went up on weekends. Once I got there they asked I sign their form reflecting a higher rate on the following night, Friday. I asked they honor the rate quoted as I did not have permission to pay more than the quoted rate. but they denied it and put me on the defensive. there was no apolgy for making the mistake of failing to inform me of the increased weekend rate and said there was nothing they could do. I called the 800 reservatoin number, they were splendid, polite, apologetic, understanding, kind and spoke to the hotel who finally did adjust my room rate. I felt the team at the hotel was not sympathetic, courteous, nor polite on the matter. I would have been more forgiving, but attitude goes a long way! June 14, 2013

Staff has always been personable, professional and very helpful. Rooms have been clean and well stocked. Nice options for breakfast. Location is convenient to UCSC, the Boardwalk and within walking distance of downtown. It's also nice to know my car was/is secure while being packed with gear. As a woman, I always felt safe even when I traveled alone. June 2, 2013

I have a platinum level priority club membership, and they upgraded us to a suite upon check-in...a nice surprise. We also received a nice goody bag with apple, cookies and bottled water. The desk staff were friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and the kids enjoyed the pool in the evening. Breakfast was the standard fare...not really to my liking but certainly lots of choices. Coffee was pretty bad, but there's a good coffee shop a block away. The location is reasonably close to downtown restaurants or the boardwalk. 5 minute drive, perhaps. All in all,a fine choice for a visit to Santa Cruz. May 26, 2013

Not right on the beach or centre of town but only a short walk or cab ride to either. May 21, 2013

They always go out of their way to insure that my stay was pleasant. The rooms are very clean, (which is important to me!) and they have a no party policy which they really inforce. We were only there for a short period of time but it fit what we needed. The only negative is the parking when when the hotel is sold out.
