Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wow....rough experience I am not usually one to complain, but this hotel was probably the worst Holiday Inn experience that I have ever had. We drove into Savannah with plans of checking into the hotel, dropping our bags and exploring downtown. Upon arriving to the hotel (approximately 230pm) I asked if it would be possible to check in slightly early and drop my bags off. I was told that there were no rooms ready yet. I asked if he knew about how long it would be and he told me he wasn't sure, maybe 10 minutes but it could be 2 hours. He wouldnt even look in the computer to see if there were any rooms available. I was told not to "miss what I had planned, but to go for awhile, and come back later. I arrived back at 545pm and there was a lady trying to check in and she was being told her room wasn't ready yet. When I asked about mine, this front desk clerk did look in the system and issued a room to me. After changing clothes and going back downstairs, the lady that was in front of me was still sitting and waiting for her room. No mention of my Platinum status, no cookie or water, no room upgrade...nothing. The room had a broken alarm clock, the back of the remote control for the TV was missing, there were polish streaks on the furniture, and the entire bathroom floor was extremely sticky.There was also no refrigerator or microwave in the room and you could hear people talking and showering while in the bathroom. There was no mention of the construction going on online when I booked, but my window was covered with clouded plastic so you couldnt even see outside. There was also trash strewn about all over the premises on the outside. An HI Express without the famous cinnamon rolls? The bed was comfortable and checkout was easy, but those were the only positives here. Will most likely not return. February 26, 2014

They had a business center, I used to print some material for next day training, a fitness center and full breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, yogurt, etc... I was impressed. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by everything but the mattress Our Room was clean and service was great. The thermostat for the heat and air was confusing. The mattress in room 417 needs replacing. after the second night I found all the sags and bumps. We will be coming back on a continueing basis and I hope this can be resolved. I cannot be the only one to have noticed the mattress condition. I did not discuss this with the front desk. I wanted this review to be my forum. February 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not so competent desk clerk We received our checks at check in- went to our room, turned on the light, and wondered whose luggage was in the room. We left the room quickly, where we were met by the desk clerk who realized his mistake. He gave us keys to our new room, tried to open the door but the security latch was in place - there were people in the room. Back to the front desk for more "I'm so sorry", and received yet another key. It seemed a little humorous, but thinking about it made us think about people who travel with guns etc. and it could have been a different story. Also, the eggs were awful. - did not taste like real eggs. The bathroom smelled like an entire jug of bleach had been used - uncomfortable, and the floor was very sticky besides. January 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value and pet friendly We were instantly happy with the pet friendly price of $25 for the stay and not $50 a pet/per night and stayed 4 nights. The staff member at the front desk was friendly and effiicient which was nice because we didn't have to wait more than 4 minutes for him to be done with our check in. The room was great. The only negative I have to add is that the next room alarm went off at 4am every morning and didn't turn off until around 8am. When mentioned to the front desk, they were very hesitant to say anything. They left a note. I was ready to pound on their door! Overall stay was great. January 11, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy It seems that every time someone on the floor left their room their door slamming jolted and resonated throughout my room. Seems to me that the installation of a "door-slam" device would alleviate this issue. I was on the third floor, I could hear footsteps all throughout the evening of people either above me or beside me. I could hear the next door room's shower running as I lay in bed. I have chosen HIE on many occasions during my travels but have not ever noticed the level of noise I experienced with this 3 night stay.There has to be an architectural oversight in this building. The staff was most friendly and helpful. I wish I could recommend others to this property because of the staff's overall positive attitude but the noise control is a real problem. My guess is that your return stays at this property is substantially lower than the company's average.Sorry! January 8, 2014
