Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk check in was a nightmare We had a room block for a wedding with over 20 rooms being booked for a weekend. I called a few weeks before to confirm my 3 rooms. For some reason they added on another room to my reservation. When checking in I was told I could not cancel the 4th room because I was not within their 24 hr cancellation policy. I never made another reservation-so how was I to know to cancel it? I remained calm and tried to reason with the manager knowing our large reservation had obviously overwhelmed them. To make things worse, we were being assisted by the General Manager who kept telling me it was my responsibility to review my confirmation numbers!! Honestly, I have never been treated like this before. I walked in the hotel with joy ready to start off my sons's wedding festivities and was met with the worst hotel manager I have ever met. I never raised my voice at her and tried to keep my cool, but told her this was not right and that I was not going to pay for the extra room. My husband said to pay it and he would contact our credit card company to have the charges removed. Well, later that evening, the manager called me. She never apologized but said she was removing the charges. She would not go into the reason why she argued for 30 minutes and then calls to tell me she has removed the charges. I found out later that my sister had an extra room added to her reservation but when she checked in (with another clerk) the clerk apologized and said she would remove that room. I wish she would have apologized and admitted their wrongdoing, but she never did. For the room, it was fine but they never cleaned or restocked the room, only picked up the used towels. The people are very friendly and the woman in the breakfast bar goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. The lady who checked me in was so nice. I loved everything about my room and can't wait to stay here again. May 31, 2015

We both were very appreciative and have traveled often enough to know this is not the norm. You have a great team there in Schulenburg and I wanted the opportunity to let their management know! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and Nice Hotel This hotel is still like new at only about 18 months old. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The decor of our room and the hotel was soothing after a long days drive. Bed very comfortable and water nice and hot in the shower. We washed a load of clothes and the TV in the laundry room wasn't working so my wife called the front desk and the manager on duty came straight up to the laundry room to check it out then got the maintenance person to get the TV working. All this happpened within 15 minutes after our contacting the front desk. Excellant service and very friendly staff. The breakfast food was quite good and plenty of selections to choose from. This is a very modern HIE and was quiet and accessible off of the freeway. There isn't much in the way of eatiing nearby but that isn't the hotel's fault. We would definately stay here again when driving thru Texas. May 26, 2015
