So the first thing that I was met with was the smell on the second floor. I think it was a smoking floor at one time or someone was smoking in thier room. Either way, I hate the smell of smoke and the second floor reaked. The rest of the hotel was fine where this was concerned.
Upon making it to my room I found that the toilet wouldn't flush. The handle was broken, and I had to raise the back of it every time I needed to use the restroom. This would be an easy fix as all they need is a new handle. I know they were aware that the peice broke off because some one apperantly took the broken peice out of the back of the comode. This tells me immediatley that they must have an incompetant manager that isn't capable of taking care of the most minor things that need to be done to make a customer comfortable.
Also, I stayed there the day after daylight savings. I asked for a 5 am wakeup call. When I got the call I got out of bed took a shower got dressed and realized someone didn't set the systems up correctly and I actually received a 4am wakeup call.
I dealt with it as I'm not much of a complainer. I went to work, and when I came back to my room at around 6pm I found my room looked exactly the same way I left it. It hadn't been cleaned at all.
Again, I just dealt with it.
The next day I planned to sleep in a bit, but there wasn't a do not disturb sign in my room. I figured no big deal. I'll just deal with it and I'll probably be awake before the staff comes through anyway. I was wrong. At 0730....yep.....0730 some guy comes knocking on my door to ge tthe towels. By this point I'm livid, and try to go back to sleep, but at 0800 the cleaning lady walks into my room. I assume she knocked, but I sure didn't hear her knock.
This is by far the worst Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at. It's obvious management needs to be replaced or retrained. When I was checking out I wasn't even asked how my stay was but I did inform the person on duty of all of the issues I had. They said...."Oh I'm sorry you feel that way. I hope you have a better stay next time". That's it......no points.....no we'll get that fixed immediately.......no comp for that portion of the stay. Horrible horrible place.

The staff was very friendly and the room was nice and clean. The bed was very comfy! They even had nice shampoo, conditioner and lotion!!!

I have stayed at this inn several times in the past. This by far was the worst it has ever been. I had 5 rooms reserved and each of them was screwed up. On the first day I left my room at 8:00 am and returned at 6:00 pm. Upon returning I found my room was never cleaned. I called the front desk and was told the housekeeping staff was gone for the day so I had to sleep in a dirty room. The front desk personnel were totally incompetent, problems occurred the next day. Towels in my room were not even dry. Upon checking out my bill (left under the door) had someone else's name and address on it. This went on for three days The hotel's answer to my complaint was to send me 3,000 extra points--big deal. All I wanted was a comfortable, clean room. Oh, I forgot the internet service was intermittent at best. No one from my company will be staying here again.

we stop here to visit family in the area and have always found the staff friendly and accommodating and the rooms clean comfortable and quiet. the breakfast is hot and plentiful.

I was able to relax a little, but unable to work from my room.
The internet connection was very intermittent and had a very poor signal. I called the front desk and the gentleman assured me that he would call IT and call me back very shortly. Never received a phone call back from him and the issue was never solved.
Onto the bathroom… The mouthwash container’s tamper seal had been broken and the mouthwash used. The bathtub did not drain properly and I stood in ankle deep body water during my shower.
I’ve stayed in a lot of HIE’s for work all over the south and usually have had very good experiences. This one however, really lacked quality in a lot of areas, and it was frustrating.

We stayed here on the way to shreveport. Found this to be a great location right off the I-10. Good for an evacuation hotel and serves a good breakfast in the morning. Loved the location and the bed slept better than my bed at home.

Employees always have a smile. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Will stay there the next time I am in the area, so should you.

Wife objected to room odor upon entering.
Live lizard in the room.
Three light bulbs were burned out.
Ice machine on 2nd floor had only two cubes.
Sign-in staff had no idea how to (or even if) to credit airline mileage programs.
Telephone was "dead" when use tried just before going to bed. If any need to reach us for warnings or other emergencies in or out had been necessary, phone contact or wake-up would not have been possible. I had to find the problem and reconnect the dead phone line to the wall. Cord was hidden behind night stand, and phone had "buzz" after connected.
We were glad to leave this location, but have always found other Holiday Inn Express properties to be more than satisfactory. Here the staff was very courteous and friendly, but untrained in the basics, lacking alert and capable management.
