Customer service was pretty good; I didn't have to wait for room keys, etc. Staff was friendly and well-versed about area events. Poolside rooms were neat. Keep up the good work!

We had stayed at this property the week before and were recognized as Priority Club members when we checked in, also given 2 bottle of water. This visit neither happened. Disappointed.

The worst toilet paper and kleenex that I have ever seen. You can't save money when you are using 2-3 times as much of them.
Also did not get the free water like we got at the other Inns we stayed at during this trip.
This was the second year that we stayed there.
The room rate went up over $30 from last year.

I didn't care for the bathrooms they were a little wore down. The water pressure in the bathroom sinks(all 3 rooms) was barely a drip, made it difficult to shave or wash up. The towels had that burnt dryer smell also. The bathrooms where clean but not what I've become to expect from the Holiday Inn label of today.

I was comfortable there, beds were nice, staff was nice. Exercise room was OK, small and a bit stuffy. Only big thing was that the carpets in the hallway and especially the elevator were very dirty and I don't think there was any vacuuming done. it was an easy fix, but not sure how they could not notice it. I would stay again, but wouldn't rave about it either.

I have stayed in many locations and this is by far the worst Holiday Inn I have come across. Normally we stay at other Phoenix locations but because of an event nearby we chose to stay at this location. We left early one morning (8:00 am ) and after a day of events we returned to find the room NOT made up or even touched; so my wife and I cleaned up and made the bed. NOT a problem but the maid when she finally arrived at 5:30 pm made it sound as though it was my problem. We even decided to participate in the reuse of towels; all I asked for was a clean and dry bath mat. That became a issue with the maid; guess she must have been having worst day than I was. The maid explained that other guest needed thier rooms made and cleaned up; and I do not follow the logic here; Am I not a guest and am I not also paying for this service. I will NOT ever stay at this location again because of POOR service and the negative attitude from the staff. I explained at check out and the front desk implied that there could have been a shortage of staff; hey not my problem. Your duty is to take care of the customer.

We were there for spring training - 7 nights for TOTAL w/taxes @ competitive price. Excellent value! NICE LOCATION NEAR SHEA RESTAURANTS AND QUICK ACCESS TO 101. Air conditioner a bit noisy, but not troublesome. Breakfast assistant was very accomodating.

I checked in late on a Friday night and when I asked for a military discount, the clerk said he wasn't going to do that right now. I asked if they had one or if he just wasn't going to do it. He told me again that he wasn't going to do that. I got the room anyway and in the morning I went to the morning desk clerk and asked for a military discount and she gave it to me without a problem.
I spoke with both the Director of Operations and the General Manager and they both said that they had just taken over and that was the former practice.

My Dad and I were in town for my Dad to have surgery at the Laser Spine Institute. My Dad had great difficulty in walking and was basically room bound. The front desk staff Teddi & Rachel especially were very accommodating in organizing shuttle rides and relating general information of the area, restaurant , pharmacies and stores etc.The housekeeping staff was great in providing their services around our schedule with the complication of my Dad being in the room most of the time. Marlene in the breakfast area was extremely helpful in preparing food that my Dad could eat because of diet restrictions and allergies. I also need to commend the complimentary shuttle drivers that were shared with the Hampton Inn. Because of my Dad's physical condition they were all very helpful in getting my Dad in and out of the van and stowing the wheelchair. There was never an inconvenience in reserving the shuttle to meet our schedule. With all said what impressed me the most was the staff's pleasant attitudes while serving.Thanks! Dr. W

Have stayed in Executive Kings before, this was one of the better furnished one, had a sleeper sofa and lounger chair. I had expected to stay an additional night but when my appointment was cancelled the staff were very accommodating.

Need to give relative new towel, feels not clean, too old towel, not enough tv program. A/C is noisy, refrigerator is noisy. Water drain in the shower is not good, need to improve.

My second time at this property. Nothing fancy but It is very clean, fresh and convenient for the January car auctions. They even have a shuttle to Barrett-Jackson that drops you off and picks you up at the main entrance. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Will definately stay here again

For many years I've been staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Peoria while in town for business. My office just recently moved to Scottsdale so I thought I'd try the H.I.E. over there. Pretty poor introduction. The room I was put in was much smaller than I was accustom to over in Peoria. It was also next to the door to the stairs which slammed closed all night, and for the topper, a hockey team was staying in my wing and decided to party in the hallway most of the night.
Granted most of the problems were a one time deal, but it really left me with a bad taste. Next time I'm back in Scottsdale, I think I'll be looking for another accommodation.

We had a great time staying at the Holiday Inn Express Scottsdale North! The staff is very nice, concientious, and helpful. We had to adjust our schedule midway through our stay and they were most accommodating in adding additional nights. The beds are soft; room was comfortable; breakfast was good - (some variety every morning). We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Scottsdale area. We will stay here again the next time we are in town.

We really liked the room. The staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. They always had a smile, and if they did not have an answer, they found one. The shuttle to Barrett-Jackson was a great convenience and the schedule worked out fine. Hotel on the hour and Auction on the half hour. There was shopping within walking distance for food, care, or pleasure.

A quick 4 day stay, room very tidy and neat. Breakfast absolutely perfect start to the day. Salt water pool and hot tub perfect end to the day. Ideally situated to enjoy all that Scottsdale offers. Easy travel to various golf courses and shopping.

For us, this property is well located, but we have a car and used to live in the area. It is on a quiet street near Scottsdale and Shea. A few restaurants within walking distance and half way betwee the 2 malls I was interested in. Close to the golf courses I wanted to play, also. We had a great price - but it was because nothing was going on that weekend.

No juice available one breakfast and no orange juice available on third breakfast. Breakfast staff said they were out of juice supplies.
Room cleaning did not occur one day till after 5 pm. Front desk said there were a lot of check-outs that day. I stay at hotels/motels almost 30 times each year, and I've never heard this excuse before. I don't know if room cleaning would have been late the next day as I requested and received housekeeping service before 4 pm.

We live in Florida and visit family in Scottsdale at least annually. The Gold Dust Holiday Inn Express is our favorite place to stay. We have stayed in much pricier lodges that offer fewer amenities and smaller rooms. We'll be back!

The good news is that this is a reasonably-priced hotel with easy access to businesses and restaurants without being next to a busy road. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and if you're just looking for a place to stay, it works just fine.
The downside is that there are some rather obvious corners that have been cut. The breakfast options are severely lacking, especially if you are trying to eat healthy. No fruit, no whole milk. The only thing I found appetizing that wasn't loaded with sugar was the sausages, and even those were a little on the rubbery side.
The internet in particular is abysmal. This location advertises 'high speed WiFi', but apparently shares a single high-speed line with the entire hotel. The end result is a speed that barely qualifies as dial-up. So no streaming video, no online gaming - it can't even handle image-heavy static websites consistently. To make matters worse, the WiFi at local cafes and restaurants is almost as bad, so there are few alternatives. I work in web development and rely on the internet for most of my at-home entertainment, so this one is a dealbreaker for me.
All in all, I'm not impressed. If I wasn't stuck reserving the same hotel as my coworkers, I would be looking elsewhere.
One thing I will say is that the service is excellent - the staff are polite and helpful without exception. If I could get a decent breakfast and some high-speed WiFi that's actually high-speed, I'd give this place more stars in a heartbeat.
