Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay We enjoyed our stay here very much. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had dinner at a local restaurant our first night there that was recommended named the Fish House. It was great and just down the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very relaxing. Getting into Monterey is easy. The road goes straight into Old Town. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again. October 17, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Our stay was good. I thought the price per night was a little high, but it might be the area. The location is perfect, very close to many places if you have a car. Room was a little snug, hard to sit at desk while others try to move around room. Bathroom was a little tight as well, but nice decor. i did not realize the hotel had exterior entrances. I do wish the breakfast was a little longer as we usually sleep in a little bit on weekend getaways and breakfast only went until 9:30. Although the coffee and water in the reception area was nice. I hope the internet improves because it was slower than dial up and made working very difficult. October 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but with a qualification... When we got to the room, we noticed immediately that the lamp between the beds didn't work. No big deal & we didn't say anything about it. The next morning we told housecleaning that we didn't need anything other than a couple of hand towels and that we had made our own beds. Then we left for the day . When we returned that evening, someone had entered our room and fixed the lamp and had clearly been on the bed next to the lamp. It seems to me that no one should be entering guest's rooms while they're away unless there's a clear agreement that this will be done. We were not at all happy that this had occurred and we would not ever again choose to stay in a hotel where we would expect maintenance personnel to enter our room while we were away. NOT ACCEPTABLE!
