We really like HIEs, always well maintained, don't have to go out for breakfast, rooms made up in a timely manner, nice folks at the desk. The drawbacks we had weren't HIEs fault, nor did they really affect us, but... we had just checked out of another HIE down in Portland and got kind of tired of the same breakfast. What was there was good, but if we took a roadtrip, I'd hesitate to spend 3 weeks doing the same food in the a.m. In fact when we returned to Portland we checked into a competitor just to switch up the meal. No biggies though, the food is a bonus to us. The room price was competitive anyway.
The other thing we noticed is more of a HIE deal then ours, but both mornings in the breakfast area, there were 3-4 employees hanging around. Maybe one would replenish once in a while, but on the whole they were just standing around. Very polite, but seemed like way over staffing. On the second morning, there was no meat item and the tray stayed empty the hour we were down there.
Evening Cookies were great, as was the coffee available in the lobby. Additionally the front desk staff was very helpful in pointing out restaurant choices in the area.

This hotel was wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable. I felt like I could actually walk on the floor without socks and be safe! The bathroom was spotless and the shower was spacious! The staff was so nice and helpful with food recommendation! Would defiantly stay here again!

Stayed at this hotel over Spring Break 2013. Brought my 14 year old daughter and her girlfriend. Gavin and Kevin were awesome. Kevin gave me details regarding location to downtown days before I traveled there from Idaho. He was on point with all that he told me. Gavin was friendly and personable. He even baked extra cookies to satisfy my whining teenagers that didn't get one because the people in front of us grabbed the last one. The continental breakfast was PACKED so be sure to get outta bed a little earlier if you want to get some. It runs from 7a.m.-10a.m. on the weekends and at 9:30a.m. they wouldn't make anymore gravy for the biiscuits? Kind of lame on that part seeing how there were so many people still waiting to eat and another 30 minutes of time. The pool could have been a little cleaner but the hot tub was nice. Overall it was a clean and comfortable stay, not far at all from the downtown pke place and all the fun stuff most folks travel to there to see. I would recommend the Lynnwood Bowl and Skate for bowling and skating on the late night if you have teenagers still itching to do something after 7p.m. The downtown Seattle area is mostly bars that they can't go to after a certain hour. There is also a place called Whirly ball nearby to check out. I will stay here again in the future and tell my friends about it as well.

Nice Hotel and Great Ammenities but has an ANT problem!! It was gross! Our room had ants as well as the rest of the hotel so there was no point in asking for a different room!
On another note, the pool and hot tub were great and the complimentary breakfast was good! The staff seemed nice enough.

We stayed in a King efficiency suite which was very roomy and comfortable. The amenities provided were a pleasant surprise, from the popcorn provided for the microwave to the newspaper at the door each morning. The staff was very friendly, polite and welcoming. It was a most pleasant stay. The free breakfast offered many great items, though I would have liked a few more healthy, less sugary choices. Parking was sufficient and the lot was well-lit. The location made it necessary to have a car. In summary, definitely recommended.

i had a room right across from the pool....was perfect for me and my two kids...its was really convenient and quiet. it was very relaxing atmosphere.. and the room was very quiet. which i did
request, and got, so that was nice for my kids...they were so happy to have that fun. it was what i was looking for.
The staff were very helpful and friendly .We stayed 3 nights and for this value, the room was clean and always made up fresh.
i have always enjoyed holiday inn express for the breakfast and cleanliness, always friendly staff....i will try another location next time to check out other scenery...:)

We stayed here while visiting Seattle for an appointment for my son at the Children's Hospital. It was about 20 minutes from the hospital. We always choose Holiday Inn Express when traveling because of affordability and comfort of this hotel chain. The previous evening we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tacoma and had a HORRIBLE night. The hotel was in poor shape and staff did a bad job at taking care of problems.The hot tub and swimming pool were dirty and the bottom of the pool looked patched in a couple of places and the repair was coming off. There was a man sitting in the hot tub with a beer in hand and a half case of beer sitting on the table next to him. When I told the lady at the front desk she said "As long as it's not glass containers it's fine for him to have beer." We found this odd because the sign above the hot tub stated no alcoholic beverages. We left the pool early. Lastly, my family is VERY allergic to smelly fabric softeners and the night was spent miserably suffering with allergies and asthma because the linens reeked of it. We reluctantly called ahead to this Holiday Inn Express for the next night to ask if they use fabric softeners and they said yes they did but they would clean all the bedding and towels for us before we arrived and have our room ready for us. When we got there, the staff was very pleasant, and the room was perfect. We were so happy and enjoyed a great night's rest. This hotel renewed my satisfaction with Holiday Inn Express. They went above and beyond for my family and the property is clean and very comfortable. I would definately recommend this hotel and stay here again when traveling to Seattle. Stay away from the Holiday Inn Express in Tacoma!
