Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would recommend... I was especially happy that we were able to check in an hour early because I was soooo tired from our trek to Seattle. The room was clean and comfortable. I thought the breakfast was good and had enough variety. My fiance did not like it, but to each his own. Would have been happier if we didn't have to pay for parking. Parking lot is a little cramped. Located near all the shops downtown, Space Needle (had a great view from our room) and not too far from Public Market. April 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK for 1 night Hotel is OK for a 1 night stay. Very difficult to get into from the street as lots of customers pulled in, left cars in entry, unattended. Waited in street more than 10 minutes. Beds were very uncomfortable, but temperature of room was easy to regulate. Breakfast was less than desirable. ALL carbs with the exception of eggs. No meat, yogurt or frest fruit except bananas. Everything else was carbs. Bread, bagels, muffins. A bit of a disappointment there. Although we stayed on the 3rd floor, must've been a lot of kids in the hotel the night we stayed as there were lots of kids running up and down the halls until well after 10:00 p.m. If I needed to stay for more than 1 night, I would opt for a different location, but for a quick night in a big city this is an OK location! Great view of the space needle as well! April 9, 2013

There was this strange sound in our room all night, but they were remodeling the hotel so I think it is because of that. It did not affect our sleep! Great beds! April 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel and great service but lousy sofa bed I love staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Our visit to the downtown Seattle hotel was very nice. The room was clean and we had a postcard view of the Space Needle, which is just a short walk away. The complimentary breakfast was very good and standard to Holiday Inn Express hotels. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Parking was $10 per day. (Is paying for parking the norm when staying in a big city?) On the downside, they really need to test the mattresses in their sleeper sofas and replace the bad ones. Ours was so bad it was like living in the Seinfeld episode when Elaine slept on Jerry's parent's sofa bed and woke up with a broken back because of "that bar!" You would be better off just sleeping on top of the sofa. The hotel still is not 100% non-smoking so the hallways smell like smoke. The non-smoking room was fine though - no smell and very clean with a fridge, microwave, dryer and coffee maker. If you need a place to stay that is affordable and downtown, this is a good choice. The price was a little higher but for in a big city it was fairly reasonable. The staff was VERY knowledgable on the surrounding area and provided some insight on the places to see and areas to stay away from. March 23, 2013

We received an upgrade to a room with fridge/microwave "King Suite", spacious & had everything we needed. Our view was right at the Space Needle. The concrete barrier on Aurora Street causes you to back track a bit if you're headed to the Arena or Space Needle on a regular basis. Little disappointed in the timeliness of Housekeeping. If you're not out by 8:00 am or come back for the day before 2:00, your room probably won't get cleaned/restocked. Stayed three nights, our room was never cleaned so we had to go ask for supplies. However, the room was super clean when we first checked-in. Lots of restaurants, some shops and the waterfront are all within easy walking distance. Peaceful area. We enjoyed our stay, I'd be open to looking at some other locations but wouldn't hesitate to return here either. March 13, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Don't book online without AAA card or Priority club card! I would like everyone to know that I go out of my way to stay at Holiday Inn whenever I need to book a hotel. I know that the rooms will be clean and I am a priority club member. What I did not expect was on my last stay in Seattle. I booked a hotel online and I did not have my AAA card or my Priority card with me when I did this. When I checked in, I presented both cards. I was told that I could not get a AAA discount because I booked online. The guy next to me got a room upgrade. He said it was because he was a Priority club member. I asked the clerk about this too and was told I could not get an upgrade because I booked online and did not have my card info inputted at that time. I would have waited to book my room if I had know this. March 8, 2013

Every staff member I interacted with was helpful and friendly- including giving directions, maps, and information about parking. The breakfast was great and I like that you can take a to-go bag if you don't have time to sit down. My only negative was that my 2nd floor room, particularly the bathroom, tended to have a bad smell. The room was clean and I was unable to determine what the source of the odor was. What more could you ask for. The price was right. Location was great and the guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The same owner also owns the Holiday Inn Express near the airport. Both are nice places. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. We had a great view of the Space Needle from our window. February 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, great room - We will be back! I checked in on Saturday for just one night. Katja helped me and was wonderful. She got me signed up for the Priority Club and gave me a complimentary upgrade. The room was perfect for my needs and the breakfast in the morning was great. I took my daughter to the pool on Saturday night and though it's small, it was just fine for a fun and warm dip! My only recommendation is to mount the TVs to the wall. When you place them on the dresser it's a little too low to lay in bed and watch TV (a pretty minuscule issue ;) but we made it work). Thank you Katja! I look forward to seeing you again soon! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Comfortable, But Not Amazing While there was space in our room for a microwave and mini-fridge, such things are, apparently, only available in the "suites". This is a shame. Fortunately, the room was clean and comfortable. Okay, it wasn't amazing, but clean and comfortable count for quite a bit. The parking was sad and incredibly tight. The view from our room was not fabulous, but not atrocious as we were on the top floor (6). Anything lower would have been really bad. Robes for those going to the pool would have helped things move toward amazing. The pool was mildly warmed, which was nice. Since we were off-season, the pool was nearly empty. It must be crazily packed at any other time, as it is not a large space. There is no room service, but the front desk staff was very good about recommending places that delivered. If anything was going to move this review along toward amazing, it would be the staff. They were all quite lovely. Still, parking is tough, the pool is small, and I really missed not having a microwave and fridge. So....clean, comfortable, but not amazing. January 26, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dissappointed I reserved three rooms for my family with the idea of enjoying the comforts I enjoy in so many other Holiday Inn Expresses when traveling for business; improved beds and breakfast bar. As a Platinum member I had to ask for an upgraded. My wife was woken several times by noise in the hallway and the smell of MJ being smoked in the hotel. The breakfast bar was packed for two hours to the point we wouldn't even try to enter the area. I wont be taking my family to this hotel again. January 7, 2013

At $10/night for parking this hotel is a great deal for the location. I was welcomed as a Platinum member, upgraded to a king suite w/Jacuzzi tub, and offered a late checkout. I found the staff to be very accommodating, which made our stay very pleasant. One thing that could have been improved was that housekeeping didn't get the message about our late checkout (which was negotiated at check-in) and woke us up to ask if we were checking out. We walked to the city center with ease. Our room was comfortable, warm and very clean. Breakfast was good, with many choices including pancakes, yogurt, eggs, sausage and sweet rolls. We did not use the other facilities such as the swimming pool. We will definately use this property again. January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great overnight for Pacific Science Center//Chihuly Glass & Garden I booked through the 800 number, wanting private space for two couples traveling together to the King Tut Exhibit. This hotel was one of several in Seattle that was offering packages with VIP tickets. We were booked into a suite, but upon arrival both queen beds were in the same room, with two baths and a living area. It was a very nice room, with an awesome view of the Space Needle! However, it didn't provide the privacy in sleeping accommodations. Upon calling the front desk, we were immediately taken care of and rebooked into two seperate rooms. They brought the new room keys to us for convenience. Exceptional service. This H.I. Express is comfortable, clean and well-managed. The lobby is very pretty, has good seating, and nice to relax in. The rooms aren't "fancy-schmancy", but we had a lovely stay. It's new, has some good options for breakfast, has decent coffee, good towels, and $10 all-day parking with the overnight stay. It's very convenient to everything near the Space Needle. We highly recommend the Chihuly Garden & Glass, and Collections Cafe there. For kids, EMP. A wonderful restaurant nearby for dinner is the Flying Fish. January 4, 2013

The room was clean and had a small couch with coffee table. Loved that it had a fridge. Lots of ammenties even if we didn't use it, it was nice to know it was there. Breakfast was fabulous! We enjoyed our weekend in Seattle and would recommend the Holiday in Express. January 4, 2013

It continues to be a nice, well maintained facility. Generally the staff is nice and helpful. However, I experienced what I hope is an anomaly this visit. I stayed for two nights the weekend before Christmas 2012 (Fri and Sat nights). I don't think I've ever seen the place slower this this visit. Yet, remarkably when I asked for a late check out Sunday the lady at the front desk replies, "Sorry we don't have any late checkouts left." As a Priority Club member late checkouts is one of your perks. How can they be "out" of late checkouts when your room occupancy is so low? January 2, 2013
