Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Large suite and great free breakfast Positives: The suite we stayed in was roomy and accommodated our family of 6 nicely. The suite was clean and the beds comfortable. We appreciated the free breakfast and everyone enjoyed the food. The location was great if you want to be close to downtown attractions. Negatives: We were glad the hotel had a pool, but it was probably the smallest we have seen at a hotel. The pool towels matched the size of the pool. There was a lot of road noise as the hotel is situated on a major road. The price of the suite was very expensive. This price is related to the location, not to the quality of the hotel. I would stay on 6 (top floor) to avoid noise of floors above you (feet pounding we heard a few times). The building itself is a bit older. Frustrating waiting for the older elevators..take stairs...good exercise. Pool was a plus for the kids for sure. Small but kids love it. Location is good but it is a walk to Pikes Market...take uber if you get tired. August 4, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Will not stay here again I had two issues with my stay. As a frequent business traveler to the Seattle area, my number one priority is that I am able to get a good night sleep. Upon arriving to the hotel I discovered I had a room facing the interstate. When requesting a new room the front desk guy quite honestly made me feel really stupid, saying that I had requested a room with a 'view' and there were other rooms open but I couldn't have one because it would be a different code. I do not remember requesting a room with a view, nor do I care about a view. Needless to say this hotel is extremely noisy when right on the interstate and I did not sleep much the three nights I was there. Second, on my first night I discovered I had forgotten my toothbrush. There is a sign in the bathroom that states if a customer forgets something that 'we will get you one right away'. I took this as meaning that I would be brought one, as I would at any other hotel that charges almost $300/night. I called down to lobby to request one, and was told I needed to come get one myself. Having already gotten ready for bed I didn't want to do this. I found it extremely inconvenient, again, especially given the overpriced rate of this hotel. For these two reasons I will not be staying with your hotel chain in the future, nor will I recommend it to any of my frequently traveling colleagues. July 30, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Squeaky floor The room above us had a squeaky floor and it was impossible to sleep. We did complain and apparently it could not be rectified. The 2nd night it started at 5am and again impossible to sleep for the rest of the night. The front desk tried to move us but the hotel was fully booked. We will not return to this property again. It's really easy to take the light rail to and from the airport as well. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and price We found the hotel was great because it was located close enough to walk to the Seattle Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and other museums in that park. Also used the monorail to reach another part of the city. Pool was enjoyed by the kids. Breakfast was crowded but still found a place to sit. Front desk staff was helpful in suggesting dinner ideas. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and friendly staff The hotel is close (walking distance) to many of Seattle's popular attractions. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early. The room was clean and a decent size. I slept very well. The only downside was the variety of breakfast choices for someone with a gluten allergy. There is on-site parking with parking charges of $15/day. Breakfast was good that included my favorite Chobani yogurt. The hotel furniture and amenities look old but in good shape. Good place for business or vacation travelers. The rate paid was very high may be due to location or many people coming to town for vacation in summer. July 20, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location to visit Seattle prior to cruise This was the perfect location to stay prior to our cruise to visit Seattle. The rooms were comfortable - the beds comfy and pillows adequate. The water pressure in the shower was great, but the flush in the toilet was so loud it was unnerving! The temperature was easy to regulate and the air conditioner didn't wake me as it cycled. I liked that the pool was a lap pool and the temperature was just right; however, the pool area was frequently out of towels. ( I'd suggest a sign over the towel rack asking guests to let the front desk know if they're out.) The fitness center was as cold as a meat locker - we didn't use it. With a little attention to detail, this hotel could really exceed expectations. Besides not keeping the towel rack stocked, there was an extensive list of events, festivals, etc,, in the elevator - for the previous month! This should have been replaced well before the 5th. Also, when I went to the front desk to ask the location of the laundry facilities, I was advised what floors they were on but not that I'd need quarters - requiring a return visit to the front desk. Over the sink in the room, there was a sign inviting guests to call the front desk if they needed any incidentals. When we called down for toothpaste, my boyfriend was asked if he had lost his luggage! (This actually struck us as really funny.) All in all, it was a good stay and we'd stay again if we were returning to Seattle. July 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Front Desk Staff When I checked in, as a member, I was surprised when the clerk told me my Visa would be double billed, but the duplicate billing would fall off my account within 7-10 business days. My Visa is a debit card (I don't own a credit card due to past problems#. I have never been double billed on my card and I always stay at a HIEX hotel. I informed him I was a member, but he said that didn't matter. I also informed him that this had never been done before, he stated that he worked in hotels for years and they always double billed on a credit card. I assumed this was a state of Washington thing. I'm from California, but have used my Visa in other states. I then informed him I was going on a cruise the next day and that charge could hinder my funds for my cruise. He wouldn't budge. This really upset me. The next morning while checking out, the clerk #a wonderful lady, sorry can't remember her name# asked about my stay and I thought, what the heck, so I told her what happened. She stated that was not policy and checked my account and was very happy when she told me there was no double billing on my account towards my Visa. This made me very happy and relieved a lot of stress I had been having all night trying to rearrange my expenses for our cruise #which by the way was for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration), so she saved the day. Also there was no recognition for our IHG club membership. July 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to Stay The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The location is great for those who like to walk the city streets. We did all of our site-seeing on foot. Breakfast was standard; the kitchen area was very clean. A few more fresh fruit selections would have added to the quality. There was an unpleasant sour odor in the shower area when we arrived. I noticed that it disappeared a day or two of our five-night stay. A bathroom fan might reduce the possibility of this happening with the shower curtains. July 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff The staff was ready and willing to help. I used points to stay here and everything was ready when I checked in -- early since I had just gotten off a cruise. When I went to check out, there was a woman in the lobby complaining loudly about not being in the right hotel. She wanted the Holiday Inn instead of the Holiday Inn Express -- they are literally right next door to each other. The staff was calm and tried to understand her problem. Then when my ride didn't show up to take me to the airport, the staff called them. They said they were on their way, but called back 20 minutes later and said to call a cab. The staff called a cab and because it would have cost me $5.00 more to take a cab than the pre-arranged ride, they fronted me the $5.00. I hope they got their money back from the company who was supposed to pick me up. July 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by General Cleanliness Room was fine. We reserved one with a jetted tub. All the jets except one were functional. Location of the hotel is great…within an easy walk to the Space Needle. Noticed that the hallway spaces were not vacuumed well or not vacuumed at all. We saw the same debris for the three nights we were there. I guess I am "on the fence" on whether to recommend this property. It is in a great location, but the rates are fairly steep.
