Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pdxtraveler friendly staff, good breakfast
Good experience overall. Every staff member I interacted with was helpful and friendly- including giving directions, maps, and information about parking. The breakfast was great and I like that you can take a to-go bag if you don't have time to sit down. My only negative was that my 2nd floor room, particularly the bathroom, tended to have a bad smell. The room was clean and I was unable to determine what the source of the odor was. I'd go back just stay in a different room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jfstennisman Great Place!
Had a great time on our first visit to Seattle. The hotel was a short walk from Monorail and Space Needle with easy access to Downtown. What more could you ask for.
The price was right. Location was great and the guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
The same owner also owns the Holiday Inn Express near the airport. Both are nice places.
Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. We had a great view of the Space Needle from our window.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hawaiian314 Great service, great room - We will be back!
I checked in on Saturday for just one night. Katja helped me and was wonderful. She got me signed up for the Priority Club and gave me a complimentary upgrade. The room was perfect for my needs and the breakfast in the morning was great. I took my daughter to the pool on Saturday night and though it's small, it was just fine for a fun and warm dip! My only recommendation is to mount the TVs to the wall. When you place them on the dresser it's a little too low to lay in bed and watch TV (a pretty minuscule issue ;) but we made it work). Thank you Katja! I look forward to seeing you again soon!

We stayed 5 days in Seattle. We received excellent service from the staff, comfortable beds, and good breakfasts. The Emerald Grill next door is a nice place to get a meal, and it is extremely convenient.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cocobean Clean, Comfortable, But Not Amazing
While there was space in our room for a microwave and mini-fridge, such things are, apparently, only available in the "suites". This is a shame. Fortunately, the room was clean and comfortable. Okay, it wasn't amazing, but clean and comfortable count for quite a bit. The parking was sad and incredibly tight. The view from our room was not fabulous, but not atrocious as we were on the top floor (6). Anything lower would have been really bad. Robes for those going to the pool would have helped things move toward amazing. The pool was mildly warmed, which was nice. Since we were off-season, the pool was nearly empty. It must be crazily packed at any other time, as it is not a large space. There is no room service, but the front desk staff was very good about recommending places that delivered. If anything was going to move this review along toward amazing, it would be the staff. They were all quite lovely. Still, parking is tough, the pool is small, and I really missed not having a microwave and fridge. So....clean, comfortable, but not amazing.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tommysblue Dissappointed
I reserved three rooms for my family with the idea of enjoying the comforts I enjoy in so many other Holiday Inn Expresses when traveling for business; improved beds and breakfast bar. As a Platinum member I had to ask for an upgraded. My wife was woken several times by noise in the hallway and the smell of MJ being smoked in the hotel. The breakfast bar was packed for two hours to the point we wouldn't even try to enter the area. I wont be taking my family to this hotel again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hermosa32 Great location and value
After a full day drive, my partner and I decided to spend one night in Downtown Seattle before flying out the next evening. At $10/night for parking this hotel is a great deal for the location. I was welcomed as a Platinum member, upgraded to a king suite w/Jacuzzi tub, and offered a late checkout. I found the staff to be very accommodating, which made our stay very pleasant. One thing that could have been improved was that housekeeping didn't get the message about our late checkout (which was negotiated at check-in) and woke us up to ask if we were checking out.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by familyofthree I will stay here again
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at the City Center after Christmas 2012. The staff was cheerful, helpful and always available. We walked to the city center with ease. Our room was comfortable, warm and very clean. Breakfast was good, with many choices including pancakes, yogurt, eggs, sausage and sweet rolls.
We did not use the other facilities such as the swimming pool.
We will definately use this property again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KandH Great overnight for Pacific Science Center//Chihuly Glass & Garden
I booked through the 800 number, wanting private space for two couples traveling together to the King Tut Exhibit. This hotel was one of several in Seattle that was offering packages with VIP tickets.
We were booked into a suite, but upon arrival both queen beds were in the same room, with two baths and a living area. It was a very nice room, with an awesome view of the Space Needle! However, it didn't provide the privacy in sleeping accommodations. Upon calling the front desk, we were immediately taken care of and rebooked into two seperate rooms. They brought the new room keys to us for convenience. Exceptional service.
This H.I. Express is comfortable, clean and well-managed. The lobby is very pretty, has good seating, and nice to relax in. The rooms aren't "fancy-schmancy", but we had a lovely stay. It's new, has some good options for breakfast, has decent coffee, good towels, and $10 all-day parking with the overnight stay.
It's very convenient to everything near the Space Needle.
We highly recommend the Chihuly Garden & Glass, and Collections Cafe there. For kids, EMP. A wonderful restaurant nearby for dinner is the Flying Fish.

I booked a King Tut package and this was one of the few places that offerred more than just one package. You could add to it which was nice. The room was clean and had a small couch with coffee table. Loved that it had a fridge. Lots of ammenties even if we didn't use it, it was nice to know it was there. Breakfast was fabulous! We enjoyed our weekend in Seattle and would recommend the Holiday in Express.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LateCheckout Good facility, service not as good as I previously experienced
I stay at this facility several times a year when I visit the Seattle area. It continues to be a nice, well maintained facility. Generally the staff is nice and helpful. However, I experienced what I hope is an anomaly this visit. I stayed for two nights the weekend before Christmas 2012 (Fri and Sat nights). I don't think I've ever seen the place slower this this visit. Yet, remarkably when I asked for a late check out Sunday the lady at the front desk replies, "Sorry we don't have any late checkouts left." As a Priority Club member late checkouts is one of your perks. How can they be "out" of late checkouts when your room occupancy is so low?

Upon arrival I was greeted for being a platinum member. My room was ready. I found the room clean and comfortable.
Everytime I walked down the hallway the staff would say hello. Everytime I would leave the hotel the front staff would acknowledge with " have a nice day". Upon returning to the hotel, the staff would say "have a nice evening".
The staff was very friendly.
I will be staying at this hotel the next time I return to Seattle.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FrustratedPatron debit card hold warning
I think that the front desk staff should tell people who are checking in with a debit card that a $50 hold will be charged to their card and could result in a few day delay in getting it returned to the card. When someone is traveling and has a set amount of money to spend on the trip, and they don't know about that hold, it could cause some financial problems for that traveler. I wasn't even told of the hold... I found out when I called my bank to get an available balance and heard that there was a pending transaction for $50 to a motel. When I asked front desk, their response was that they would credit back in the morning, but it was really up to the bank when they decided to release the hold. Anyway, kinda frustrating and I'm sure there is some way to let people know about this ahead of time or at least have it mentioned during check in. Now I know for next time, but I'd hate to see someone else left in a financial bind when trying to enjoy a couple of days out in Seattle. I would have liked to have had that money for my sightseeing and the Marketplace, etc.!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by UofOBro Loud and Bright. Good staff, though.
If you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The road noise was very noticeable and the dark curtains are made so that you cannot close them, leaving only the sheer curtains to block out light. Due to these factors, sleeping was difficult as it was loud and bright in the room. The staff were helpful and accommodating, as I made a mistake while reserving the room and needed another night. They were able to arrange it, even though they were quite busy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hkflea Convenient Location with all the HI Exprss service & amenities
We bought the King Tut package and stayed in 503 for 5 of us which comfortably accommodated us for 2 nights. 2 separate bathrooms was very useful.
Great Breakfast room with good selection of changing main dish and appreciated Granola as another cereal choice.
For dinner go next door to the Holiday Inn's Emerald Grill for value eats and local draft beers, if you don't feel like going out for a meal.
Nice clean warm watered pool
Next door to busy Aurora Avenue Hwy 99 so traffic noise unavoidable so just keep window closed at night with aircon, no problems

Took our family of 4 to see PSC, EMP and the Space Needle. All fees were reasonable and we had sunny weather (gasp!) We took the courtesy car once which cost us $15 while the cab back to the hotel cost $7 but worth not having to negotiate traffic ourselves.
Wish there had been a vent in the bathroom but otherwise a good stay.

Great location within walking distance to the Space Needle, Pikes Place, the waterfront and pretty much everything in Downtown Seattle. We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations relative to the price. When we arrived we opened the curtains to a great view of the Space Needle. The breakfast was a little disappointing when compared to other hotels we have stayed but a much better selection than just a continental breakfast. We will definitely stay again next time we come to Seattle.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AmyA Poor Customer Service
I travel a great deal for business and I have always made an effort to stay in a Holiday Inn where ever I go. However, after my experience in this particular hotel, I will make every effort to stay elsewhere when I'm in Seattle. Upon arrival my coworkers and I discovered we had rooms without a fridge or microwave. Each day when we requested a change to a room with both, we got the run around. Staff would promise to "look into it" and call us back, then we would never hear from the person again. This happened on every day of our stay. Each time we would speak to the front desk, they would act as if we had never brought it up. Some staff at the front desk bordered on rude and clearly had no intention of making our stay comfortable.
To add further insult, when we did leave some food in the fridge at the front desk (at the recommendation of one front desk staff), it dissappeared. The leftovers were to be used for a working lunch so we could shorten our workday and get on the road back to our families earlier. We never received an apology or any offer of compensation..
As a gold member with the priority club I always stay in a Holiday Inn but, when in downtown Seattle, I am willing to forgo any points I could earn just to avoid this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Oma2008 Excelent guest service.
We opted to stay in Seattle City Center to be close to the King Tut exhibit. However, at the price we paid for each night of stay at our Holiday Inn the company could have dismissed the $10 a night parking fee as such I rated them low on value. The rooms were nice and clean, not to mention enough space for two grandchildren to play in. The sofa & couch in our room were less then comfortable but the bed's were perfect. My continued participation in staying with Holiday Inn goes without saying: The have the best costumer service!
