Met with very staff members. Courteous and fast service.
Room was very clean though furnishings are beginning to show wear.

I have been staying here since this hotel was new. In my last few stays I have battled dirty rooms, bugs, and an overall poorly maintained facility. Whenever possible, I try to stay somewhere else these days.

I travel the world.
I have stayed in this hotel over a dozen times in the past few years. Some of the rooms that had weak air conditioners or toilets that rocked were the same each visit.
On one particular visit, I had complained that a shower drain backed up and that the shower was dirty when I checked in. When I returned that evening, the shower still had hairs on the ledge and the drain backed up, yet I was told that the room had been cleaned and repaired.
The pillows are atrocious!! The soft or firm are like chunks of foam in a sack. Terrible compared to other HIE!
On a good note, the staff is always courteous and friendly. I stay here every time I visit Selma.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Selma several times over the past four years. It is a good place to stay for leisure or business travelers.
Like most of Selma cleanliness is sometimes lacking but it is cleaner than any of the other hotels.
The staff is great to work with. In particular there is one staff person who staffed the front desk on Friday who is a student at Concordia College Alabama in Selma who was as effervescent and charming as any front desk clerk I have come across. She will go places.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The check in staff was always smiling and gave me their full attention. They knew what they were doing and the check in went quickly. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good. The lady who supervised breakfast made sure we had everything we needed, but she didn't hover over us. To me, the outstanding quality of this hotel is the staff. We asked for a dinner recommendation. The lady at the front desk recommended 2 restaurants. We tried one and it was very good. There were warm chocolate chip cookies when we returned from dinner. That was just the dessert we wanted. When we checked out, I mentioned that the commode in the bathroom was loose. It worked and did not leak, but I thought it needed a little attention for the next guest. The lady at the desk immediately relayed my concern to the maintenance worker. I cannot say enough good things about this staff. I was treated as a guest and not just a customer. Thank you!
The only problem we had was with the internet. The signal was not very strong. We were in the last room on the first floor and the signal was weak. It did work, but slowly.

Comfortable quiet atmosphere. Staff was great, very knowledgeable, polite, willing to please. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Selma area! The WIFI could stand to be faster hard to get work complete.

We are frequent travelers and stay at many hotels. This is an impressive HI Express hotel. We were pleased with our stay there.

We were in Selma for the annual bridge crossing jubilee. All of the facilities were booked. This holiday Inn Express was the only place we could get a room. They did not tell us that the room we were getting was a handicapped room. I was a little disappointed with the room because the bathroom smelled of urine. Maybe a good cleaning with bleach may have helped. My husband also complained to me that the beds were very uncomfortable.
