Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by renovation and dirt and non-responsive staff The hotel was under going some kind of renovation or construction and all the carpets on all 3 floors were filthy with workmen's boots and equipment. when we suggested the staff have it all vacummed up they looked at us like we were speaking a foreign language - English. They shrugged it off and we non-responsive. The breakfast was very limited and not to our tastes. I looked for some low fat and low carb alternatives but they weren't available. the hard boiled eggs were way overdone and the scrambled eggs were pretty mediocre. there should be some 100% whole wheat choices as well. As my stay was for leisure, just passing through the wonderful town of Shamrock the front desk staff was more than helpful describing some local attractions to visit! They mentioned that there was the U-Drop Inn just a block away that was in the movies car, or about a mile and a half away the tallest water tower in Texas. After doing our site seeing of the town we had decided to go grab dinner, not knowing what was around we decided to ask what was available. The receptionist had mentioned that Big Vern's was a delicious place with excellent "beer bread." Wonderful stop will definitely be staying in the little Irish town of Shamrock, Texas!!!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay!!! This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. I travel quite a bit with work and have had the luxury of staying in many nice places. This hotel ranks at the top of my list. The cleanliness is bar none one of the best attributes of this establishment. The service that I received was also top notch. The people there always greet me with a smile on their face and are always asking how to make my stay better. I love staying at places that make it more joyful to stay at. The staff and management deserve a pat on the back for their effort at keeping this place nice and clean. Looking forward to my next stay at the Shamrock Holiday Inn. November 4, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Nice staff but overpriced AND, this place is dirty! Dirt on the bathroom walls, carpet stains, and the hallway and stairway was filthy. Dead and dying bugs, if you can believe it. And as I said, definitely overpriced. October 31, 2014
