Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not many other options Considering that there are not many places to stay along I-40 in the Texas Panhandle, this is not a bad choice. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but feels more representative of a cheaper chain. The satelite TV is very clear, but it is difficult to find stations easily. There is no hot water in the breakfast room so an attendent must take your oatmeal or tea into the kitchen to add water. Wifi doesn't always work well and there is no newspaper. The price is ridiculous for the area (but , to be fair, all the other Shamrock motels seem to overcharge as well.) On the plus side, the staff are all very pleasant and helpful, and there is a good restaurant within walking distance. December 11, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hunters Weekend? We stayed at the hotel at what seemed to be the night before hunting season. There were HUNDREDS of hunters at the hotel and it was pretty crazy. But still it was quiet and comfortable and staff was great and attentive. November 21, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible stay Only rooms left were suites, overpriced for stained carpet and furniture. Clerk would not let me use AARP discount (never had that happen before). Had to ask for complimentary water (Priority Club Member). Walls thin (heard coughing and sneezing next door-alot). Sounded like furniture moving upstairs. Hall carpet was dirty. Plastic mattress cover is awful, not much rest that night. Worst night ever at HIE. October 31, 2012

I stay here every week and he realizes since I have no pets and do not smoke he does not have to recite these ridiculous drawn out policies to me each time I check in. Some of the other staff needs to realize this. Lee is helpful, knowledgeable and takes the extra step to insure a quality stay. He realizes I am a gold member and treats me accordingly. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn Express Experience Having stayed at over 10 different Holiday Inn Express locations in the southwest I can say, unfortunately, this was the worst of the lot by far. I can say this because I have so many high quality locations to compare this unit with. Let me detail my concerns: Highest price (30% over other Holiday Express locations). Check-in staff who were not courteous or caring with a take it or leave it attitude. No deference to priority club members as at other locations. More concerned about discussing penalities for guest non-adherence to the rules than determining what the registering guest would like. One key for two guests. Breakfast essentially not attended. All 6 coffee carafes empty with no one to refill them. After waiting reasonable time following notifying desk clerk, I departed to purchase coffee elsewhere. Hallways and elevators not vacuumed. Baseboards dirty. If I come across another franchise like this one I intend to cancel my priority club membership and offer my business elsewhere. October 22, 2012
