Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Value for Money Hotel room is great but the room was stuffy as they only on the heater function. I have to keep the window open so that i can get some cool air into the room. Location is ok, near to train station Longde Rd (Line 11), it is about 5 - 7mins walk from the hotel. Difficult to get taxi as the hotel was located in the recidential area, very peaceful and quite. For me despite difficult to get a taxi, i am quiet happy with this hotel. No many taxi knows this hotel, i learnt and tell them " i am going to Guangfu Xi Lu, Wuning Qiao Xia (underneath the Wuning Bridge)". I will come back to this hotel again for my next visit to Shanghai. April 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not conveniently located This hotel is comfortable. The breakfast is customary Chinese fare with some Western food. The staff speaks minimal English, but are very pleasant. The location is not in the best location for taxi service. Taxis are available to/from the airport....but if you are looking to taxi in the city, this would not be a great location. The walk is substantial to the main road. Most taxi drivers, even when given instructions in Chinese, did not understand the location of the hotel. April 6, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable bed and pillows. Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Putuo is in a lovely area of Shanghai. We enjoyed a riverview room and the quiet atmosphere. There is a lovely river walk not far from the hotel. The bed and pillows were so comfy! Towels were soft and BIG and the shower quite nice. Shanghai Putuo only serves a Chinese breakfast so you might want to consider other options. The price value of this room is EXCELLENT! ! ! This hotel is just a few minutes walk from the subway and also from a nice shopping area. April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel with accessibility to underground and nearby mall Have been frequently staying in this hotel since March 2012 due to my work requirements. Overall I am satisfied with the hotel however, they need to change their pillows and bedsheets as I felt their pillow were rather flat and not an actual pillow to sleep on. It made my neck rather stiff in the mornings. As for the bedsheets, although it is clean but the material made it feel like sandpaper that scratches against your skin while moving around. What I was not too happy about was that I would expect when staying in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor that it would be entirely smoke free. Unfortunately, that is not always the case as you can get visitors that actually smoke in their room which, unfortunately, does spread over to the other rooms. And as being a Priority Club Platinum member and a regular customer that stays for more than 2 weeks at a time (overall for 2012, I have spent a total of 100+ nights at this hotel), I felt there's not enough recognition not only for the amount of time spent but also for the overall cost that I have paid. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enforce no smoking policy & improve breakfast choices and quality I stayed in a non-smoking level, but customers in other rooms smoked; it irritates me. Management should enforce no-smoking policy. I stayed in the hotel for over 10 days, the breakfast choices are almost the same, it gets old after a few days. Also, there is no creativity at all from the cooking staff. Don't cook the same stuff everyday. The quality can be better. March 7, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 细节问题 冲着优悦会白金会员享受可以延迟到次日下午4点退房,原本准备安心地待到下午4点,结果1点刚过,打扫的阿姨连门都不敲,直接冲进房间,还好锁着链条锁,不然真的被吓死了。解释完了我可以4点退房,阿姨终于才关门而出。 然后到了下午2点,前台打来电话,催我什么时候退房,我只能再解释一遍,结果被告知只能最多延迟到下午3点,因为客房安排的原因。 觉得挺奇怪的,住了那么多优悦会的酒店,这还是第一次被告知要提前退房。 January 21, 2013

I had to wait for one hour to get just a taxi. And service level is as per fare, so do not expect too much. (Receptionist is busy for playing game and no greeting is normal here.) December 5, 2012

When my friend recommended me to stay in the Putuo Holiday Inn Express, I was surprised by the price, which is really reasonable. When I arrived, I was impressed by the service and environment. The staff is professional, yet hospitable. Location is very convenient, Metro is just walking distance away. The staff could also help chartering vehicles, 24hrs. service. Thank you so much. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by More western b/f choices needed, otherwise great I like Chinese breakfast options so it was no problem for me, but my parents and sister found slim pickings - just toast, really. All you need to add is some fresh fruit and perhaps some croissants or something. Otherwise we had a great stay here, convenient to subway, clean comfortable rooms. Front desk guy a little eager to please and processed my bill on my credit card without asking how I'd prefer to pay (cash, to avoid fees). I only stayed one night, so no biggie, but I'd have preferred the choice. I recommend this place and would stay again. October 29, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by breakfast I usually stay at least for about two weeks in this hotel, but the breakfast remains the same, It is poorly prepared. I also stay in Wujiaochang Holiday Express, where more variety of breakfast is available. During the recent stay in Putuo, I had to walk more than half hour away from the hotel to get some breakfast. Other people in my company had the same bad feeling about the breakfast. We are thinking of staying in other hotels during our next trip. We all made some comments at the hotel, but nothing changed.
