I found the Holiday Inn Express in Sheffield great value for money and the staff couldn't be any more helpful if they tried. Eg. I asked if the Crucible was a far to walk and within seconds the lady on reception took a real interest in my stay for the snooker and gave me a local photocopied map to take with.
First impressions of the room were very tasteful and clean, also the bed was comfortable.
I am a sales manager for Vauxhall in Cheshire for which I strive to give my customers great customer service, your staff are an absolute credit to you, I will definately be rebooking next year.

Everything you would expect from HI Express. My only problem in staying here has been that the rooms tend to be too warm in th evenings even with the AC turned up full. Staff is excellent. The restaurant is also not bad.

We were coming to Sheffield to see the snooker at the Crucible and chose this hotel for it's location. It was absolutly perfect - only about 10mins walk from the Crucible and places to eat. The room was great (the bed was enormous!), very clean and tidy. The shower was also large and the shower room was also very clean. The breakfast was exactly what you'd expect and served it's purpose well. Moving around the hotel was also very pleasant. Everywhere was well decorated and very clean and tidy. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

I have been in the 1123 room for one nights. The hotel was very nice and staff also very friendly and helpful but breakfast was very poor and the mattress in the room was very uncomfortable.
The room was very clean and cosy. To be honest I could not sleep well. I had a pain everywhere next day. I would recommend to change that mattress.

Excellent location & value, I will stay there again.
You will not get gastronomic food but it's ok.
WiFi is expensive at £7.00.
My room was very good and a much better than expected shower.

Nice staff. Bar staff cheerful. Nice rooms and a good shower. Breakfast is only negative. Typical express breakfast. Not a great deal of hot items to choose from - No eggs, hash browns, waffles etc.
Meal at night was fine. I had booked three rooms for 5 guests and only negative was the breakfast. I think we may go to the holiday inn across the road the next time to get a decent breakfast when we visit Sheffield again.
A young man on reception also called a couple of days before we arrived to check what type of rooms we wanted and where we wanted to be in the hotel. Nice touch.

Breakfast - the toaster[s] were not working properly and it was disappointing that there was no bacon available.
Apart from that our stay was good, the hotel was comfortable, good temperature in the room, great shower.

This Holiday Inn Express is every bit as good as hotels twice its price (and more). I've stayed twice, and both times the rooms have been huge and comfortable, with superkingsize beds, double width showers, all beautifully maintained. There appears to be plenty of car parking, and at £5 per night for residents it doesn't break the bank. Since our head office moved to Sheffield a year ago I've tried a number of hotels around the city and found them so-so, but as long as this hotel maintains its prices I can't see any reason to stay anywhere else now.

I booked 2 rooms, A double and twin room as we were in Sheffield for the night to see a Concert. When we arrived the Staff on Reception were very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We wanted to go to Meadowhall shopping and the Receptionist gave us directions where to catch the Tram and even marked the route on a map for us. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Bathroom was amazing, I loved the shower. The beds were so comfortable that it didn't take long to get a good nights sleep. In the morning we were spoilt for choice with all the variety of food at Breakfast. There were cereals, Fruit, Toast,, croissants, Sausage, Scrambled eggs, Tea , Coffee and different fruit juices. They cater for everyone's taste and it was all delicious. I will be using this Hotel again when I come back to Sheffield and will recommend it to Family and Friends. Thank you Holiday Inn Express for a most enjoyable stay.

Very comfortable hotel, couldn't fault it. Very new, excellent facilities - bathrooms particularly swish. Breakfast good and overall really good value, could easily pay double for a hotel of similat quality.

Due to friends living in Sheffield I use this hotel on a regular basis - good reliable service and quality - rooms are always sorted.
And I think this shows how things have changed - there are only 37 TV channels. Used to be impressed with 10 - that really is a minor whinge
Parking? Cars had been abandoned in the parking area - almost double the number of spaces - did make dropping off difficult for other drivers.
Breakfast - standard HIE - reasonable quality - quite a few thought they were going to get a full breakfast and moaned loudly about it.

Despite many party's of hens/stags was very quiet. Definately use again.

First experience of staying at a Holiday Inn. Excellent value for money. Could not fault room, bathroom facilities or double bed, but pull out bed was not very comfortable and could feel springs through mattress. Very limited parking available on site. Staff at Reception desk were very friendly and helped with all enquiries. Breakfast choice was also very good, apart from no bacon, only sausage, which was a shame. Overall was very satisfied with stay.

Stayed one night for an event at Motorpoint Arena, was pleasantly surprised as we didn't have one tiny little complaint. The room was spotless and modern, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful in giving us travel directions to the arena. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Came for one night on 9th march as a group 4 as we were going to see Sheffield Utd play MK Dons. The staff were very helpful giving us directions and advice on where to eat. The rooms were spaious and the shower was fantastic. It was very clean and bright and we had a lot of TV Chanels. Beds were comfy alhough they did move a little. Breakfast was good , not a great deal of choice but adequate and filling. Sauasages were lovely!

Polite helpful staff, decent on site restaurant food.
The sofa beds in the family rooms were a nightmare, springs poking through everywhere. The other families we were with experienced same problem in their rooms. We were told the problem had been reported on several occasions but as yet had not been resolved.
The rooms were however extremely clean and ths showers are amazing

From the friendly greeting on arrival this visit was made all the better because of the attitude of the staff, they are amongst the most cheerful and friendly I have met at any hotel. The use of the Holiday Inn next door also makes this a good place to visit, the food in the restaurant was first class. The room in the Express was clean, quiet and comfortable and everything you expect from this standard of hotel, the shower was great. I will definately be using this hotel on future visits to Sheffield.

Stayed for 2 nights at beginning of March and was very impressed with the cleanliness of rooms, very white sheets and spotless bathroom. Had been allocated adjoining rooms as requested at time booking. Early morning breakfast was a bonus as sometimes at weekends it is served later. Only disappointed that we have been unable to book rooms for our next visit to Sheffield in April and have had to go elsewhere.

Our stay was ruined by an utterly hopeless sofa bed/3rd bed for our son. It was the most uncomfortable thing ever and I should know as I ended up on it.
To be fair the staff were great, really helpful and I would stay again they just need to sort out there sofa beds.

The first surprise was that the car park was on site and cheaper than we had thought it would be! The rooms were of a good size and beautifully big shower! The bed was too soft for me but would probably suit most people! Friendly, helpful staff and great location also helped to make this a great stay. If I come to Sheffield again I will use this hotel!

I was staying in Sheffield for business purposes and booked this hotel because it was only a mile from where I was working on two consecutive days.
It was really difficult to find. I used the satnav information on the hotel's website and my (up to date) satnav still hadn't a clue and I was swept onto the ferocious Sheffield one-way system. It was just as bad going back the next morning because you can't go back the way you came. Although I had even printed out a map, because it looked so complicated, it was impossible to follow because of the layout of the roads. The hotel is along its own little road, Blonk Street by the river, and it would have been good to have known to go along and past it to the parking. The car park was very full and I only just got a space.
However, the hotel itself is a delight and very good value - - large clean room, one of the best showers I've ever found in a hotel, good food in the restaurant, friendly staff.
I will stay there again in the future but I wish something could be done to make it easier to find!

we booked the room for a Saturday night as was seeing a band in the city centre. Excellent customer service at the reception desk. The room was excellent and very comfortable and clean. Not a bad thing to say about the hotel or staff.
