This was our 2nd IGH hotel on our way to CO. We had canceled our other reservation for the Lexington area. We didn't have a reservation for this hotel and checked in with ease to a VERY heavily booked hotel. It pays to be a IHG member! We ended up in a lovely suite with 2 QN beds and a sleeper sofa. After a long visit with family in the Lexington area (staying a bit longer that we should have) and getting on the road in the evening without a reservation, we were very thankful to have a place to sleep and a shorter day of driving the next day. I only have one suggestion: the sleeper sofa once opened hit the small kitchenette cabinet and really needs to be moved or it will look dumpy before long. Great location! after a very

The trash can was too far away for someone who walks with a cane, and the trash can that was available was overfilled. I told the employee but they did nothing to have an empty can available.

The room was below the standard I am used to from holiday Inn
The bath room was dirty .
The room was not filthy but not clean either.
paying a premium for a below average room is hard to take had I not been to tired to go on I would have.

I stay in Holiday Inn Express hotels 10-20 times a year and this is the worst property I have ever experienced for HIE.
1. Check in woman was great trying to multi task while totally overworked by herself.
2. Breakfast lady worked hard and was pleasant.
1. Room was dirty, bathroom was dirty, chairs were dirty.
2. Shampoo had been used before and not replaced.
3. Room was dingy and had to have the lowest wattage light bulbs available.
4. I booked using reward points, yet they billed me the actual room rate in the morning. They say they will issue a refund but based on the management of this facility I am not confident.
5. No recognition for platinum IHG member but I understand because the check in person was covered up-she needs help!

I am a priority club member and stay almost exclusively at Holiday Inns because of their consistency and value. This place in Shelbyville was not cconsistent. The front desk girl was very nice and made check in a fun experience. That's the good part. Our key wouldn't work on our room because they were in the process of changing lock sets so we had to have another room assigned. The 2nd room was a handycap suite. 2 of the 4 lights in the bathroom were burned out. We had the individual packets of coffee but no coffee maker. When we pulled out the sofa sleeper there was no bedding in the room for it. We called the front desk twice before we could get bedding delivered. In the morning at the breakfast area they had the same girl running the check in desk and setting out the food. She was not doing a very good job with the breakfast bar as many things were very low on food or empty. Probably not her fault, just not able to do both jobs.
This place was, in my opinion, below standard and not what Holiday Inns would want to represent their chain of Hotels. And for this below standard hotel we paid a fairly premium price.

Room keys stopped working two different days. Very annoying. No maid service one day. TV guide does not match actual.
