Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service! My stay at this hotel was with my sons hockey team. Our kids had an early game and breakfast was not supposed to start until 7. Our kids had to leave at 630. When I brought this to the desk staffs attention she said she would make sure they had some food available then in the morning at 6:00 one of the staff was waiting for our kids to start coming down an hour early and had all of the breakfast items ready! The staff were all very friendly and VERY accommodating! Rooms were nice too! November 13, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Communication Staff failed to mention that the pool was out of commission when I called to see if they had an indoor pool (1 hour prior to my check in). Additionally, I was staying for 3 nights and this information STILL wasn't divulged to me. I had to actually go to the pool and see the hanging sign (which said it would be out until 9/26/13) September 23, 2013

I was especially happy with the swimming area and hot tub. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was most comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Staffing was friendly. Although it is very rural, the location is perfect for doing business in Sheldon, Sibley, Ashton, an many other small towns in the area. There are restaurants near by, as well as grocery stores. The rooms are clean and comfortable; the breakfasts are always hot. We will stay there again. September 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean Hotel, friendly staff We stayed at Holiday Inn in Sheldon while visiting for a family reunion in town. The staff was very friendly, and accommodating. We arrived a day late (due to being stuck at the airport in Chicago overnight when our late night flight was cancelled I called the hotel (well past the 6pm cutoff to cancel for the evening) not for a refund, but to let them know so they wouldn't cancel our reservation for the following two days. To my surprise, they did not charge us for the night we missed. That was welcome news after spending the night on a hard bench in O'hare airport and spending $$$ on lousy airport food. The hotel was clean, neat , and updated, as you would expect from holiday Inn. The shampoos and lotions were in my favorite Bath and Body scent - White Citrus...:# I never made it to the pool or hot tub #too busy with relatives) but other guests said they were very nice. The morning breakfast had eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, pastries , juice and delicious coffee. The room rate may be a little higher than the other hotels in town, but well worth it. We had a relative stay in the another hotel in town - it was grimy, and had dog hair on the bed - spend the extra $ and go to Holiday inn. September 4, 2013

I came into town for a wedding and I was please to say that I would come back just for the great experiences I had while at the Holiday Inn. The staff was friendly, quick and very knowledgeable when I asked for directions. The breakfast was amazing and had a great variety that I have never seen before at a hotel. The best was the room looked just like the pictures on the website, was clean and quite even though it is located near the highway! Very impressed and had a wonderful stay! Thank you! August 3, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Stay We stayed at this property the 14th-17th of June. Were excited to be there for a family event closeby but were not told that there was a massive music festival right next door to the hotel which would end up impacting our stay. On one occasion we could not get into the driveway because they were installing a big sign over the road. Another time we were coming back to the hotel to relax and were not allowed access to the parking lot for a significant time period. The next night we had a baby wanting to sleep but fireworks til late kept that from happening so we would have very much NOT stayed at this hotel if they would have told us that all of this was happening during the time of our stay. We were assured that this would not affect our stay in any way.....mmm June 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong type of room When I checked in, I was told the room type that I reserved for one of the nights was not available and I would either have to take a different type of room or would have to take the type I had reserved for two nights, then move to a different room for my third and fourth nights. To save the hassle of moving I took a room that was NOT the type I wanted. When I got into the room, I discovered the bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a freight train. Then, after my first two nights, I came back to my room to discover that my keys no longer worked, so I had to go to the desk to get my keys reactivated. The pool area had loose stones and blood spots on the floor. These may seem like little things, but I expected better from Holiday Inn and have always had better. Being a Priority Club member and using my points for this stay, I was not impressed. There was no offer of room rate reduction or points compensation for my inconvenience. June 23, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Grossed Out After checking in we dropped our bags off in the room and went to visit my parents in a local nursing home. When we returned to the room several hours later we sat down to relax. As soon as I sat on the couch I could see something under one of the chairs across the room. It was a pair of men's dirty underwear! Wife was grossed out and was not "comfortable" in the room after that. Kept wondering what else wasn't cleaned, We should have left, but were too tired from an exhausting day. April 3, 2013

They were great, treated us well. Quiet and comfortable rooms and something for everybody for breakfast. Great pool and great relationship with community for the pool. December 3, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Door security weak West end entrance door does not shut automatically. It has to be pulled shut if latching is desired. Has been this way for months. Have told front desk about it several times on previous visits. Came through the door at 2AM last time and just pulled it open. No card is needed to unlock and open. Makes for weak security of the building --especially at night. Maybe no big deal, but seems like door could be fixed correctly. Other places doors work fine. Looks like sombody has worked on it as chewed up around bolt/latch area. RT October 27, 2012
