The staff are wonderful here, greeting everyone with a true smile and gracious manner. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast area was cozy and the food was very good. I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed my stay. Very high value for the money!

Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful with directions for nearby hotels and other needed locations. The room and hotel was very clean and comfortable. Felt very secure and safe while staying here. Appreciate their attention to detail. Would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn express/Shreveport, La. My college friend got married and booked a block of rooms here. We were impressed from the minute we arrived with the welcome at check-in to the concern from the front desk staff when my phone kept calling the front desk and hanging up due to a short in the phone wire. The front desk attendant sent someone up to our room to make sure I was OK. The breakfast attendant was kind, busy and took extra care to see that we all were attended to during a full house.

First the Bad: Made reservation a week in advance, arrived, and was placed in the smallest room in inventory with a DBL bed. Asked for an upgrade..."Nothing available", was the reply even though the hotel was FAR FAR from occupancy. After some begging on my part she finally "allowed" me to accept a similar tiny room with a king, although she was sure to emphasize she was doing me a "favor" since the King costs more. I'm not usually a "demanding elite", but what value is there in a customer showing loyalty to IHG and gaining top elite status if we receive absolutely NOTHING in return?? I understand that if the hotel is at high occupancy and I show up unexpected that I'm NOT going to get an upgrade, but having to beg for an upgrade with the hotel half empty #and still not getting one# started the stay on a bad note. Other than 500 "welcome points" there is ZERO value for an elite, they don't even provide a morning paper to your door, zip, nada. I'm only a silver with several of the other major chains yet get better perks at those locations.
The Good: I've stayed in this area dozens of times and this is the quietest hotel in city by far. One of the few locations were you don't hear trains blaring all night or highway noise. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice with lots of shopping/food choices, and easy access to highways. Housekeeping was good, and the hotel grounds and building seemed well maintained. The A/C/Heater Unit was like new and worked great #these usually are a problem at HIE#. Overall the room was very quiet and did sleep well, just wish FO Staff & management would place more value on IHG status.
