Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by SHREWSBURY HOLIDAY INN The room was cold. Messages on phone from 3 weeks previous to the stay so red light flashing.. Staff did not know how to reset it. Food choice in restaurant was limited, poor quality and took 45 mins to be brought to the table April 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good hotel in convenient location This hotel is on the outskirts of Shrewsbury and we decided to stay at it rather than choose a hotel in the town based on good reviews and the free parking and breakfast plus previous very good experience wth HI Expresses. This is a good hotel with rooms which are larger than average. Our bed was a full king and the mattress was extremely comfortable. The curtains provided excellent blackout. The bathroom was large and well equipped with a very good over-bath shower. Parking is plentiful and free. The pleasant, helpful reception staff arranged for a taxi into town which was only £4.80 each way. Breakfast was excellent with a plentiful supply of hot and cold buffet choices. Overall we had a very good experience and will stay there again when travelling through the area. April 25, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short Break Quite a pleasant hotel. Good staff. It is situated within a commercial trading estate. Fine for business visitors, less so for others. A car is essential as Shrewsbury is a few miles away. We had quite a comfortable good sized room. The problem was maintainence. The air con was not working, although a fan heater was provided. The toilet seat was quite badly damaged and should have been replaced before our arrival. It had not 'just happened'. We may return providing the maintenance improves. April 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by slightly tired decor in room The bathroom was a bit of a let down. We didn't realize that Express locations did not have baths in their bathrooms, just a shower. Similar to other cheaper competitors. Although the shower was adequate, the bathroom decor was tired with grouting missing and parts of wall tiles missing. However the room was quiet and peaceful and we had a nice stay for our 2 nights. April 20, 2016
