This was the best Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in so far, massive bedroom, good bathroom with shower door instead of curtain, very helpful young lady on reception and a good bar and dining area, they even did hot bar snacks. Would definitely stay there again.

Had two nights in this hotel thought for cost was great value. Rooms a good size and very clean. Breakfast just what you would expect for buffet breakfast but adequate..

It is a standard brand that lives up to its brand because of its staff. Clean and fresh. Rooms more than adequate. Showers with ample room. Nor does the shower just trickle like I've encountered with other hotels.
No it is not the Hilton on Park Lane, but then it isn't competing with the like. It is competing with an upmarket Premier Inn, or similar, and it passes.

Excellent service given by the manager, Mr. Sharma and the staff..
would highly recommend stay at this hotel... what counts more nowadays is customer service, and that's what i got from this Hotel..Would stay again.

I work locally 2 days most weeks and this hotel fits my needs, the staff are great and the beds are good, the shower is great, one of the best I have ever used, the evening meals let it down, fast food and not the home cooked type I like but there are lots of pubs around. This hotel is situated on an industrial estate but do not be put off by this, and again for me, this works well as I work just out side the town and I do not get caught up in the morning rush. The town is 5 mins cab ride if you want to go into the town centre.
Over all, nice hotel with great staff.

Clean, large room. breakfast good. location not so good, 45 minute walk into Shrewsbury (ok if it's dry!)
Pleasant stay but don't think would stay here again.

Having booked well in advance online we got a great deal. We have previously stayed in other HIExpress's, but never stayed at in Shrewsbury. The welcome was quick and easy - As all was in order and correct. The room was immaculate and the staff professional and friendly. I would have liked a greater selection at breakfast, but my partner was very happy with what was on offer.

I stay here with business alot, the staff are welcoming and the service is excellent, its comfortable and a great location. The park & ride into Shrewsbury town is 2 mins down the road and you're 2 mins away from the M54. I would definetly recommend to others.

the room was spacious and we were able to up the room thermostat the heating was efficient and instantly we could feel the hot air coming out of the overhead heating system
the bed was comfortable and we had a choice of soft or firmer pillows there was tea and coffee making fascilities in the room
the bathroom was spacious and the toileteries available were lovley
a nice touch was that there was also hand moisturiser available .
the towels were soft and fluffy. the shower cubicle was wonderfull very spacious with a stone ledge inside so if needed you could shower sitting down. the shower had a non slip floor like a wet room floor so no woriries about flooding and the shower had a door not a curtain so definatley not in danger of flooding
the shower jet was of good strong pressure the shower would accomodate 2 poeple easily with lots of space we only used it for one person at a time though.
breakfast was self service and plenty of variety the breakfast was included in the room price.
evening meal we ordered at the bar. there was not a huge choice of meals but what we had was absolutley wonderful it was a vegetarian dish and i can hand on heart say it was the tastiest dish i have ever tasted in vegetarian options ever and i will only give praise when its been earnt
the staff were efficient and helpful
there was plenty of parking when we stayed at begining of march 2013 this is our first experience with this hotel chain and we would definatley use this company again

My room was very cold on entering. I put the air con on and set it as high as I would go but I might as well have left the hair dryer on. The window lock was broken so there was a draft. I then asked to be moved to another room which was equally cold. One of the staff then brought up an electric fan heater from the kitchen. I use HI allot as the rooms are pretty much the same and comfortable. This hotel did not feel like it has always been a HI express. Couldn't get onto the Wifi either.

Holiday Inn Express Shrewbury certainly delivered all that one would expect from a 'hotel' of this standard. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and this gave the place a very 'comfortable' feeling.
I would most certainly stay again when I was in that area.

I was really impressed with the room and the bed was very comfortable.
Was staying on business and was very disappointed to find out that the wi-fi wasn't working. I had only booked about 5 hours before arriving and saw a sign that looked like it had been there for a while which said wi-fi wasn't working. I think I should have been told at the time of booking because it may well have affected my decision to stay at the Holiday Inn Shrewsbury.
I have to say that I thought the restaurant food was dire and expensive for what it was - avoid the fish and chips!
There was a male member of staff who was really really helpful. I needed a copy of a map and he very kindly printed one off for me.

Some very good and bad points. The hotel is well located being on a business park on the southerly edge of this beautiful town. This gives easy access to main roads without being too far from the town centre and has plenty of parking. The hotel itself was clean in the communal areas as was the well furnished room. The shower was powerful and spacious and overall I felt very comfortable during my stay. Now the bad, the reception staff were definitely the most miserable and unwelcoming I have ever met in a Hoiliday Inn or in fact any other hotel and the baconless breakfast was distinctly average when compared to other similar hotels.

I like a dark room and hall lights on all night not conducive to a good night's sleep.Room 145 seems to be a wifi dead zone. As soon as outside hotel my laptop picked up surrounding hotspots.(but not hotel's!)
Beds are very comfortable and towels are huge and fluffy.

This hotel works hard to please the customer, rooms are good and clean, the fitting are average but the rooms and have what you need for an over night stay and be comfortable. The evening meals are not that good and I have gone to the pub just round the corner to eat. Staff are nice and make you feel welcome. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is ideal for a couple of nights stay. Located in a quiet location on the outskirts of Shrewsbury on a business park. Plenty of safe, free parking. You will need a car/taxi to get into town.
Rooms very clean and effective heating controls. No bath but an excellent powerful shower with lovely big fluffy towels.
Breakfast self service, a bit basic but for what you pay is good value for money.
Recently re-branded the only difference we found was no bacon for breakfast.
All in all it suits us fine for our needs. We will use this hotel for our next stay in Shrewsbury.

Nice hotel with good sized comfortable rooms.
Receptionists seem very poorly trained and don't have many customer facing skills, with the exception of the Handy Man who is the only one that says hello and makes an effort to welcome (I have been stopping in this hotel for a number of months now)
