When we started this particular trip to our Son's home in Alabama, we had not originally planned to stay at this HIE. However, due to weather and bad roads in the area of our original route, we re-routed and chose to stay at this HIE. WE simply don't stay anywhere else unless there is no HIE anywhere within our route or a feasible distance from it. We were very pleased with HIE Sikeston, MO and will very likely chose this route and this HIE again in the future. THANKS to everyone there for a great stay after a very long day on the road!

We were on our way back home from the Thanksgiving Holiday and planned to stop at this property to stay 1 night. We booked two rooms 1 for us and 1 for the kids. We checked in and everything seemed fine. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor so when we got off the elevator there was this overwhelming smell. We opened the first room and it was the kids room, the smell was in that room too. I'm not sure if it was their cleaning supplies or what but it really smelled like they were perfuming the funk if you know what I mean.
We got to our room and it didn't smell like the hall and the other room but it wasn't even clean!!! The bed wasn't made and there was trash everywhere.
I went to the front desk and the gentlemen started going through reservations that were laid out to find another King size room. He eventually found us one and we were able to put our things away. I must note he did give me coupons for 2K extra rewards points for my trouble.
Most everything was what I would expect from a HI-Express. At bedtime we found a huge difference however. We had stayed at a Holiday Inn a few nights prior, the bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of pillows. The bed at this property was one of the hardest beds I've ever slept on. There were 4 Barbie size pillows on the bed. If we had 4 each it might have been enough.
I expect a clean room, I like nice atmosphere and Amenities are nice too but the one thing a Hotel should provide above all else is a comfortable night sleep. They bought cheap mattresses and cheap pillows to save a dime and they lost this customer. I won't be staying at this property again.

I booked this room online and was given a room rate for both nights. When I checked out I didn't notice the bill until I was home but was charged two different rates and the second night was more expensive. This should have been the same for both nights. I called the hotel directly and they said they would call me back but never did.

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. If I had any complaint it was the temperature control. It didn't seem to make a difference what I set the heat at, it became too warm for my taste. Otherwise an excellent stay. And the free breakfast the next morning was better than most hotels I have stayed at.

The professionalism and friendliness of the staff at the front desk and breakfast area was excellent. The hotel itself is below Holiday Inn Express standards though. Our rooms air conditioner had frozen up when we arrived causing a large wet spot on the carpet and a very humid damp room. The breakfast area is smaller than usual.

Stayed in a room that was supposed to be no smoking, still trying to get the smell out of my clothes, luggage, computer bag...
Staff insisted it was a no smoking room, no effort was made to improve the situation, platinum elite status doesn't mean much at this HIE. Rooms need some updating.

Clean and comfortable. Courteous staff--Audrey at front desk was awesome. Good location, attractive grounds. Bed very conducive to rest. Lots of TV channels. Absolutely outstanding breakfast! Nice pool and warm. Business center needs to be in a more private location. Very positive experience at this hotel

We loved our experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Sikeston. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. My husband really enjoy the large TV. We stopped here for our overnight stay driving from Illinois to Texas and we will stop there again on our way home. Another great perk is that one of the best restaurants that I've ever eaten at named the Lambert Cafe is just down the street and it is a hoot. If you like good food, plenty of it and want a fun, fun time... make sure you get to the Cafe for dinner. I give the Lambert Cafe five stars as well. You will have to wait, but don't let the large crowd intimate you... they move people in and out fast.

Hotel didn't appear to be very well maintained. Hallway carpet was worn and dirty. Asked and changed rooms because bedsheets in first room looked like they hadn't been changed. Desk clerk was very nice and handled our request courstley.

I travel weekly and appreciate the simple action of being greeted by name when I arrive at the Front Desk. This particular Holiday Inn Express all the attendants know me by name and I have witnessed several other guests being greeted as well.
Thank You for this simple but pleasurable experience each time I arrive.

This is a great hotel to stay at. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was very good and good choices for everyone.

Our stay was enjoyable. Nice, comfortable room. The only con to our stay was the elevator was at total different end of the hotel than our room. But not that big of a deal. It was nice, and we would stay there again if ever in the area.

IHG properties have become our favorite places to stay when traveling. Although each experience has been above average the breakfast staff in Sikeston is extremely accommodating and genuinely nice to everyone.

My suggestion is to go down the road and don't stay here. The lady at check-in was very nice but when we checked out, the man was very rude. He acted like we were a huge bother to him, didn't speak. The room was not very good at all, the bed was very old and uncomfortable, a hair was on the sheet. The bathroom was not clean around the corners in the floor. The toilet was loose from the floor and very unstable. Don't. waste your money at this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay this week. I wish the pool had been more inviting. Looked liked it could use some attention. Otherwise, the service was excellent from the front desk to the great breakfasts. I would be happy to stay here again!

It was so good to see Front Desk Sue again. She is such a joy. However, it goes downhill from there. Ok, I can understand not having 2 percent milk one day (Tuesday). But it was annoying the next day when they had the milk, but the bananas were green and crunchy. Not good. However, that is not where it ends. There was a family who felt the breakfast area was just for them and did not feel the need to share. Then, the red headed female running the breakfast area is singing to the top of her voice to the point I can no longer hear the TV above me or the family who felt they were entitled to the entire breakfast area. Wish it ended there, but it doesn't. After I decided I could not stomach green, crunchy bananas any more, this red headed female ask me if there is a problem. I said yes. The bananas are green and crunchy. She said they last longer on the shelf that way. Of course they do, who wants to eat them. She then said if I did not want to eat them now, I could take them with me. It will take days for them to ripen and I am sure the TSA will accept that reasoning when I go through security. Besides, I was hungry THAT day and breakfast the following week would be at another HIE. She said she orders that way intentionally. Someone please call the Scarecrow and find this woman a brain. That was the only day I ate in the "free" breakfast area and it was miserable. I will have to return because it is the only HIE in the area. And when I was there this past December, it was fine... without the red head. And no, I do not have something against red heads as I have been one all of my life. The room was fine, but your old floor plans, at all HIEs, lack sufficient wall outlets for today's modern business person. Hope to see Sue again, but not the red head.

Comfortable room, pleasant and helpful staff, a breakfast that far exceeded our expectations. The staff member who prepared and served breakfast - said she had been doing it for six years - deserves special praise. She brightened our day with exceptional service.

Staff make any hotel, and this one helps into the better than average hotel. See the hotel for a Holiday Inn Express is average or below. The property let say, has been used and used well and compared to other HIE's along I-55 and US-60. Front desk is always great upon arrival and the AM staff is outstanding. The breakfast has been expanded and has protein in a wide variety of choices :) .. Internet is always working and room is average,but again this hotel is used and usually pretty well full of travelers, business warriors and work crews.

Staff was very helpful and friendly.Room was very nice with comfortable bed, good lighting,spacious room,clean and quiet.Some hotels have too much noise like kids running in Halls at 12 at night and people talking loud in the hall when returning from some bar etc.but not this Hotel.It was a pleasure to stay there.

My preferred hotels are holiday Inn Express. I have stayed in many Express in several states but this is by far the worst one. My family and I had stayed in Festus Missouri Express the previous night after traveling all day on our way to Florida. We decided to break in Sikeston Missouri and had made reservations using Priority Points. I got the family into the room as I was working on bringing in luggage. Now mind you we are traveling with a 3 year old and a 6 month old. After getting the luggage to the room I decided to take a shower before heading to dinner. Of course my son is playing on the floor and he is a very clean kid at three. Even when he wastes water on himself he wants a wipe. So we could not figure out why he kept asking for wipes. When I came out of the shower onto the carpet it was obvious. The floor was disgusting. My feet were literally sticking to the carpet and from the bathroom to the bed my feet were filthy. Of course we quickly threw him in the bath and asked for a room change. Although the carpet was better by the time I went to bed my white socks were stained. I was very disappointed in the room. All other aspects of the hotel were fine. (service, food, etc.)
