Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for visiting our family I did not mark the ratings correctly on my first eval, only checked the first box which I found out too late was rated poor, this is not the case, for we enjoy this hotel everytime we visit our two daughters and four grandchildren living in the area. We espeically like the second floor west rooms where the front door opens up to the open pool area and the window to the parking lot where we can get some fresh air. I see during this visit, you are starting some upgrades to the property which is due. January 24, 2014

We espeically like to reserve the second floor west rooms where the door opens up to the open pool area and the window to the parking lot, we can get fresh air to breese through the room. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable but noisy We (couple and teenage son) stayed two nights as we were in town for a wedding. Our room was clean and comfortable but there was inadequate sound proofing. We could hear our neighbors, even at just normal conversation levels and the footsteps (which sounded like stomping and went on until about midnight) in the room above us. The ironing board was shabby - it was wobbly and the cover was stained. The facility didn't feel like a hotel to me, it felt too big, like an apartment complex that was being converted. There seemed to be a few rooms rented for parties. Staffed hosed down of area outside of lobby and in parking lot both days - this really should not be a cleaning practice in CA considering our water issues. The staff was really friendly and professional. The lobby and breakfast room were clean and nice. January 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Too Expensive Too expensive for the value. Rooms are totally outdated. Breakfast was rather poor, although the service staff member was awesome - very attentive and helpful. For the price, I could have stayed at a hotel in Las Vegas... On a Sunday night, given that the rooms are completely outdated, the cost should have been much lower. Unfortunately, we were in town on short notice for a funeral and I've stayed at other Holiday Inn Expresses without any issues, so I thought this stay would be no different. Truly, HIE should look at lowering the cost until they at least finish their renovations. January 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! We always stay here when we visit our family in Moorpark. We are always treated like royalty. This time we were upgraded to a King suite - what a wonderful surprise for New Year's Eve. The location is near the freeway, but the rooms are always quiet.. The staff is very helpful and cheerful. The grounds are immaculate and the landscaping is so lush and well-tended. January 4, 2014
