Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NAR1 How did they get 4 stars??
Old hotel with minor cosmetic changes, mostly to the bathroom. HARD, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE mattress. NOISY hotel with teenagers and young adults running up and down the walkways yelling and shouting. A faulty AC unit that made a racket every time the compressor came on. What can I say, an unbelievably uncomfortable noisy night.
Oh yes, when I made the reservation at the hotel the charged my American Express card immediately even though my trip wasn't for two weeks and told me there was no cancellation policy. Then when I checked in they advised they were charging my card for "incidentals" but would credit my card back if I hadn't charged anything to the room. Come on, this is a Holiday Inn Express with no pay per view, no restaurant, no bar....what could I have possibly charged to the room???
Never coming back, thank God I was only there for one night to visit the Ronald Reagan Library. I travel all over the country on business and usually stay at Holiday Inns and have seen all kinds of rooms, some great and some not so great, but this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in bar none!!!
I hope management reads this because they are ruining the Holiday Inn brand.

The friendly staff allowed us to stay past check-out time so we could watch our favorite team's game on TV. Thanks, Simi Valley Holiday Inn Express!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ko225 comfortable bed; fresh air
This facility needs updating. Our biggest disappointment was no refrigerator and microwave, especially since we were staying 3 nights.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice room and good location for what we wanted to do (Regaen Library).
Based on this and another Holiday Inn Express experiences we will definetly make this brand a top choice on future trips.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tulips You can hear everything thru the walls.
Bedroom with 2 queen beds was spacious enough for family of 4. Staff was nice and courteous. Breakfast was okay and plentiful (eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc). We stayed for 3 nights. If you are a light sleeper, we don't recommend this place. Our first night was not restful at all because we could hear everything through the walls. At 12 midnight, we could hear the next door over - their baby was crying while the adults had the TV on very loud and a man was yelling at the baby to shut up. At around 3am, baby started crying again, then the door slammed and we heard a woman yelled, "Your father likes to smoke, so get over it!" The 2nd night was ok (our neighbor left?). We slept through all the noise on day 2 until 6am when we heard 2 toddler girls running and screaming from the floor above us, then a female voice telling the girls to stop fighting. We thought about changing rooms but it was such a hassle to pack up. The 3rd night, we all were very tired so we wanted to sleep in. However, the next door over had their alarm set at 7am and wouldn't turn it off! After what felt like an eternity (~7min), we called the front office to have it turned off. If it weren't for noisy neighbors, this place is a good option. It includes all the basics that we need at an ok price. We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel. Once in awhile after a bad experience like this one, we do wonder if we can get more restful sleep for the same price elsewhere.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Devina Excellent all around
Huge comfortable room with jacuzzi tub, which I wasn't expecting...even the bathroom was newly renovated! I guess it really pays to be a PC Member! Breakfast choices were also fantastic and location was great (just off the highway - near some great places to eat). Try Toppers Pizza if you need an excellent but cheap option for the family.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JaJa Very friendly staff and great service.
It would be nice to have waffles as an option and different yogurt options that don't have so much sugar.
Also, it would be great if you could increase the number of channels on the TV. TV options are very limited and most that I wouldn't wash. ie. I don't care for all the reality shows and most of the channels offered this programming.
Also, a working upright stationary bike.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by EddieQ Like the Staff...Did not like the old TV and remote that didn't work.
Richard is very helpful. Breakfast good. The one day I go to use the Old TV...the flippin remote doesn't work!!!!! So I leave a few dollars on the night stand for housekeeping here's the thing: the money was under the remote which had a note on top if it that said Please fix the remote it does not work. Guess what? I come back from a 14 hr day want to watch a little TV before bed. It still doesn't work!!!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Travelsforwork Friendly Staff and Comfortable Room
I had the greatest check in experience with such a friendly staff. They greeted me with a Priority Club goody bag and had fresh, warm cookies for all the guests. My room overlooked a beautiful courtyard with tall trees and the large pool. I could walk to local restaurants for dinner and had the complimentary breakfast in the morning.
