Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value...be weary of building work and railway noise Good value hotel especially as don't pay for parking or breakfast. Room is comfortable and a relief that it can be temp controlled. We unfortunately had a room with a dividing door and the 2 people in the room next to us were really noisy and we could hear they're whole conversations - not the hotels fault but something to bear in mind when requesting a room. Also, last time I stayed, the block of flats next to the hotel weren't being worked on but building work has started again...AT 6am!!! So not the best nights sleep. Hotel staff were apologetic though in the morning and did take the issue away plus put a note on my records to put us in a room on the other side next time. Again, not the hotels fault and they did what I would have asked them to do for the future without me having to ask. January 17, 2013

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very handy location right next to the station. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall a great modern hotel, in a good handy location that is great value for money, I would definitely stay here again. December 24, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Slough Feedback Don't let the ambiently lit image of the Hotel on this page distract you from the tangible reality that Slough's HIE is situated 15 metres from two more hotels/apartments being built, as a consequence there was around 20 parking spaces in a poorly lit car park, forcing us to use the adjacent Train Station, at a cool £15.50 per 24 Hours. Upon entering we realised that the room we reserved and paid for online had not actually been paid for. We are a working family and I work part time as a teacher (3 days) and am also a full time student, hence the PT work, as a consequence I had insufficient funds in my account and the receptionist blurred out "You have no funds!" NICE!!! Our prediciment went on for a while until we were greeted by an manager. I actually had cash in my wallet but was for tea that night but explained that I would pay in cash, no this is not good enough we need a deposit for the room as well, which is the same amount as the room itself.......So............Cash gets put in an envelope and my card details are taken as I am getting paid my WEEKLY wage tomorrow. Get to room, very clean, triple glazing as we are metres from Slough Train Station, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was poor, very cheap choices and almost unedible meat , your usual busy morning breakfast at this kind of venue, but they do say it's complimentary so you can't really complain. We checked out at 10.30 and the girl at reception was clueless, we told them to keep the cash and DO NOT charge the card, having to explain why we paid by cash . We got the train to London as we promised our children for the day and went to the cash machine only to realise the the Hotel had took our cash and charged the card, Brilliant!!!! we rang them and were told that our card had not been charged and that it was still being held, NOT TRUE!!!! So with my account half empty, we were limited to what we could spend, but we tried not to let it spoil out day but it did prevent us from doing some of the attractions we had promised our children . Before returning home we returned to the Hotel and spoke to the gentleman from the previous night, it transpired that our card had actually been charged at 7.00 AM that morning and he insisted that the money would be back in 48 hours minimum. That was on Friday morning, it is now Thursday and still no refund. We spoke to the branch manager once home (as it's policy for issues to be addressed at branch level) and after some disagreement offered us a free breakfast if we stayed at Slough again...... plus 25% off one of the rooms #1 I don't plan on going to Slough again EVER!!! #2 The breakfast is complimentary anyway, very poor!!!!! He then offed us 3000 points on our loyalty card, "great we thought" erm no.... that is no good to us as you need 5000 points to book a room and they are only special offer hotels, so I'm writing this as our problem is still not sorted, manager promised to call us back after 4.00pm today (07/11/12), but failed to, not impressed at all Holiday Inn. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FAB HOTEL BUT FOR THE BAR TARIFF ACCOMMODATION WAS AS EXPECTED FROM HOLIDAY INN BRAND - GOOD. THE BAR PRICES, HOWEVER, WERE SHOCKINGLY EXPENSIVE £4.50 FOR A PINT OF SHANDY AND £2.80 FOR A BOWL OF NUTS. £3.80 FOR A PINT OF LEMONADE. I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS TAKEN ABACK BY THE PRICES. STANDS TO REASON THE BAR TAKE WOULD BE SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER IF THE PRICES WERE MORE REALISTIC. I COUNTED FOUR SETS OF CUSTOMERS WHO DID NOT HAVE A SECOND DRINK BECAUSE OF THE PRICES. THERE ARE TWO MEMBERS OF STAFF ON THE DESK . ONE CAN DO THE BAR SO THE LABOUR COST STAYS THE SAME. VERY BAD BUSINESS. REDUCE YOUR BAR PRICES AND INCREASE YOUR PROFITS....VERY VERY SIMPLE. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Only Hotel To Stay At When In London. This was the second time that my wife and I stayed at the "Holiday Inn Express" at Slough. As we are regular visitors to the UK, we have found that by staying at hotels in London itself is a nightmare. Just a short train ride to Slough can give you peace of mind in knowing that your Home Away from Home is but a short 10 minutes away on the express train, and only 8 minutes in a Cab with a cost of GBP 20 pounds will get you to Heathrow....... The actual hotel itself "Holiday Inn Express" could not offer a better service, and we will definitely be staying at this location in the future. We have also since stayed at another Holiday Inn and have joined the Priority Club... We are sorry that we never found the Holiday Inn chain a long time ago... October 26, 2012

My mistake was to think a sofa bed would be ok - but it was so uncomfortable - not recommended. The food choice in the restaurant was not great but "sufficient" - we all enjoyed what we had. But it was an excellent location for our trip to lego land. Excellent value for money and I would stay again. October 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The Slough Experience It was extremely difficult to locate the entrance to the hotel in darkness and it would be helpful to have directional road signs. I was impressed with the professional and efficient response we received from the receptionist upon our arrival at the hotel, which included a call to our room about fifteen minutes after arrival to see if everything was ok. That was a nice touch and unusual in my considerable experience of using budget hotel chains! The hotel environs and bedroom were very user friendly. On a negative note we were somehat discomfited(having been informed that hot meals were available to order up to 10pm) when the other receptionist started taking the menus away before 9pm. We had decided to stay in for the evening precisely because of the late availability of food and we were playing a game of cards in the lounge/restaurant area. When I enquired about the reason for the removal of the menus I was informed that the kitchen was about to close! I reminded the young lady that the advertised time for ordering was 10pm and she asked what time we wanted to order!! We eventually "compromised" on a 9.30pm/ish deadline but I was equally unimpressed to be told that there were no cheese and biscuits available... The experience did not spoil the evening but we did feel as though we were being a bit of a nuisance by wanting food at that time October 11, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Parking & breakfast problems I would never return to this hotel because of the lack of parking and long queue at breakfast. Once the very small hotel car park is full, guests have to park on the road in a rough area, or try to understand the overly difficult parking system at the train station next door. Parking tarriffs are not displayed, but the threat of clamping clearly is. The hotel staff offer a written parking guide, which is factually incorrect and of no help. Clearly none of the staff have ever actually tried to park at the station, as their advice is incorrect and based on hearsay, not experience. The second problem is the poorly laid-out buffet breakfast. It is squeezed into such a small area, that "theme park" style queues develop. The bed/settee for the kids has a wafer-thin mattress and 2 adults + 2 kids in the room is a tight squeeze. In summary - an inner-city hotel, squeezed onto a plot which isn't big enough. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect all around! This hotel is an absolutely wonderful property and I would highly recommend it. I stayed in a double room with en-suite bathroom. The facilities in my guest room were great. Very clean, comfortable and well maintained; a real home away from home. The guest lounge is a great asset to the hotel. Continental breakfast is served here daily including sausages, scrambled eggs and baked beans. The staffs are fantastic, extremely helpful, courteous and willing to go out of their way to help. Being my first time in in the area, they were fantastic, giving me lots of tips. Overall my whole experience at Holiday Inn Express Slough far exceeded my expectations I have no hesitation in recommending this property and shall certainly stay with you again. The time where I stayed, there is building construction close to the hotel that makes scenery a bit distracted, but I believe once the building has finished, it would better view outside. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Excellent friendly service. We arrived early but it was no trouble for the willing staff to store our luggage safely for us till our rooms were ready. They were courteous and knowledgeable concerning nearby Windsor and the train service. This is an ideally situated hotel right next door to the railway station ( no noise from trains for us) with trains every 20 mins to Windsor, a journey of 6 minutes. Fabulous! There was a satisfying breakfast buffet of hot and cold food, and plenty of it. WE ntend to stay here again on our next visit. July 16, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noise of Trains! Through the night a loud bang could be periodically heard which made me jump & woke me up. It came from behind the bed inside the building. Couple that with the train track right behind us - felt like we were sleeping ON the station platform! Not a comfy sleep especially for the high price of the room. July 14, 2012
