Very helpful staff. Asked for early check in. The receptionist contacted house keeping to arrange a room to be serviced within the hour. After a coffee shop visit the room was ready so I could freshen up for a lunch time meeting,

The reception staff were helpful on arrival and all staff appeared happy with their roles, the bar was adequate and overall my stay was excellent

The approach through a built up, high rise area is not the best and the huge amount of cars parked on the verges greets you.
The car parking is terrible. Only 28 spaces for a big hotel. Some spaces taken by large vans! Had to park in nearby railway station for 2 nights which cost an arm and a leg.
Reception area and staff were a shining light at this hotel in what was not a pleasurable visit. The rooms are comfortable, functional and clean. My room also had the spare bed (put you up) made up which meant I did not have a sofa. I was the only person in a room set up for 4 people. The pillows are marked with "firm" and "soft" but were all the same, hard.
The noise from the main railway line was incredible, intercity 125 trains whizzing past. Not a lot the hotel can do about this, but should have considered this when building the hotel in this area. Would I return, no. A bad decision by IHG to be here.
