Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just for the night - 9am flight at Heathrow T5 Checkin was quick and painless. Upon entering the room thought the room was very nice and large. Settling in alittle bit i did notice there was some dust around on the headboard of the bed, desk area, etc. if i was staying longer would have been an issue but was only resting my head there for less than 24 hours so it was ok. wifi was nice, but it kicked me out in the morning and had to go and get another log in from the front desk. free breakfast was a plus. the only thing that was kind of annoying was that the front desk person was alittle misinformed about how long it would take to get to T-5 which lead to me being very stressed out about how many stops the bus was going to take and if i would make it to my flight in time. I would stay here again if i had another early morning flight. oh and food at the restaurant was quite alright. i had the burger and my boyfriend had the cajun chicken, we were both pleased. The rooom was of a high standard and what we had requested for a family of three. Breakfast was a easy, of good quality and plentiful. The only unexpected element was £10 for parking. Good choice if spending the night waiting for connection at the airport, not to go to the city, way too far and underground fare is kind of expensive. January 9, 2014

Althought he bed was a little uncomfortable (we kept rolling into the middle of the mattress so ended up sleeping on the edges!) the overall experience was good. A convenient hotel if you're stopping over night before a flight and need to park your car but don't expect to get a good night's sleep... The rooms are quiet enough but the mattresses are awful. Everything else; cleanliness, helpfulness of staff and breakfast are what you'd expect of a Holiday Inn Express. The cost of the bus transfer is very expensive although this is set by the provider rather than the hotel but I'd like to see this enrolled into the cost of the room instead. Despite my comment about the beds I'd still recommend property. Just check you're happy with the mattress before you settle down for the night! January 3, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good breakfast! We stayed here for one night with our two grandchildren. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. Slightly lacking in surface space for a family room, as there was only a tiny desk, no drawers and a few hangers on the open wardrobe. The heating controls were not working so we had a very warm night, which was slightly uncomfortable - and we could have done with a few extra pillows. Apart from that it was a nice hotel, easy to find with friendly staff and the breakfast was really good. Although a few trays would have been useful when your trying to sort out your own and two young children's breakfasts going backwards and forwards to the Buffett can start to get a bit tedious. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable beds and no Platinum acknowledgement Stayed here boxing day night. 2 rooms both had aweful beds. My son in the other room commented the bed sank deeply. Ours did too. Rooms 427 & 428. No platinum acknowledgement from staff when arrived. No water in room or even free drink offered. Yes it was a cheap room for an early getaway to Heathrow Airport but the overall experience wasn't good I'm afraid. Next time I'll stay a little further out of town. Myself being a Platinum member, I've stayed in a lot lot better Expresses. December 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for money - very comfortable room Check in was chaos - I was bumped twice by foreign guests who don't understand how queues work, but the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was very clean and well equipped for this price range although the tv package is a nonsense and a rip-off - it made very little sense to me. My wife was very impressed with the very spacious and well eqipped bathroom. Towels were big and soft. I found the bed far too soft and small, but I'm over 6 ft and I prefer Premier Inn beds. The room was very quiet although what noise there was came from the corridor. My daughter also said that the free wi-fi was total rubbish - possibly overloaded? The free breakfast was rubbish too - real cafetaria food and not even worth the freebie. The parking was reasonable though at a tenner for 24 hours. I would stay here again. December 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor staff The last few times I have stayed at this hotel the staff have walked in my room in the morning while I was sleeping , it is unexceptable for this to happen. Unfortunately I will not be staying at this hotel again. When I paid for a late check out and out the do not disturb sign on my door handle I still get woken up by over keen staff wanting to clean the room. Wen I approached the desk about theses issues nothing was done or said . I reluctantly booked the room again over Christmas and the same incident happened again. This time I was walking to the shower in in my towel. And the staff proceeded to enter my room. December 30, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific Overnighter Booked this hotel as the name led me to think it may be in Terminal 5 and we were arriving into the terminal after 10.00 p.m and wanted something very close. Disappointed to find we had to take a cab to the hotel. That was the only down side. Everything else was terrific. The staff were very helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had a very good shower and nice toiletries. Considering this is an Express, the food selection was very good. December 28, 2013

Better environment than in main hall and a need for a printer in order to secure transient type documents such as boarding passes re air travel. Given proximity to Heathrow and traveling clientele it is important as in other Holiday Inn Express to provide airline schedules in effect at the time such as was our experience while staying in HIX in Boston USA. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Airport stopover The hotel was fine for a stopover - clean and comfortable. No room service but I was able to order dinner and bring it up to my room myself, which was appreciated after a noisy and frustrating day of chaos at the airport. Breakfast was not served until after my departure time, but on request one was bagged up for me to pick up as I left. But be warned - there is a yoghurt and a juice in the pack, so you need to eat before security or you forfeit these items! The only issue with my room was the lack of BBC4 as a TV channel option. No Borgen! I would have considered that particular channel a "must". My other, major, issue was the amount I had to pay for my night's stay when booking the hotel through the airport booking desk. No hotel was going to be considered good value at such an inflated price. December 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly Good! After arriving back from Thailand we arranged a night stay at Holiday Inn Express T5 before heading home. We arrived at Heathrow T3 and took the H5 bus to the hotel, sadly we had to wait nearly 40 mins for the Hotel hoppa bus to arrive. The schedule states every 30 mins. The cost £4.50 each way per person and you are dropped at the door. On arriving at the hotel, we were checked in quickly and our room requirements were as requested e.g. twin beds and higher floor. The rooms are not large but nicely furnished and warm, the bathroom has a large shower area and new fittings. There is tea and coffee making facilities plus complimentary internet in the bedrooms. The beds are slightly softer than we would personally like but comfortable. We struggled to control the heating in the bedroom, usually I like my rooms very warm but even I had to turn the heating off completely as it was too hot to sleep. On the night of arrival we dined in the hotel restaurants, ordering gammon and fish and chips with a bottle of red wine. The dishes arrived after 20 minutes, they were well cooked and tasty. The next morning we arrived down for breakfast around 9 am, the dining area was full with a xmas tour party. There were a number of staff serving in the dining area but no one greeted us or confirmed the process for breakfast - table service or self service. We sat down at a clean table and read the menu - which confirmed self service. The breakfast offer was very comprehensive, cold buffet, cereals, juices, yoghurts, cooked breakfasts except bacon. The only issue during breakfast was service - the restaurant was virtually full and we noted a number of managers clearing tables too. After breakfast we remained in our room until 12 noon and then checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel. One point to note is that this hotel is actually in Slough and not at Heathrow T5 - so at least 20 mins by shuttle bus or taxi to the terminal. December 16, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The most uncomfortable night I've ever had Entering the hotel led me to think that my family would have a good nights sleep before our flight from Heathrow the next morning, however that was not the case. Although the room was presented very well the beds were extremely uncomfortable and small. Our Children slept in the pull out bed, while my Husband and I slept in (or should I say tried to sleep in) the main bed. However, the bed was small and we rolled into the centre and it hard. The roll out bed on the other hand had a wafer thin mattress and it was so hard that sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable. This was a big disappointment from the other Holiday Inn's we've stayed in and I'd have to say that I would not choose the Holiday Inn at terminal 5 again, nor would I recommend this hotel to any families wishing to have a good nights sleep. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Boring location Good rooms Check time quite good and staff friendly. Rooms are really good and I had a good nights sleep. Location wise is not to good not to many eating options available nearby, Breakfast a bit disappointing not many options and most of the plates was empty and was not replenished quickly enough. Ok for one or two nights stay but not a long time work period. Check out staff might have been unlucky not any greating and they rather talked between themselves then serve the customer, not one smile not even saying good bye when leaving. I asked for an envelope to put my bill inside she just looked at me like i was from outerspace and in the end she just places on envelope on the desk without saying anything December 11, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing and not so near T5 as you would expect The ambience of this hotel is great and it is very convenient, however the beds are too small for 2 people and you end up rolling into the middle - we did not sleep very well at all and neither did our friends. Breakfast looked good but really was not great quality and the coffee was undrinkable. We also felt it was a long drive to the long term parking. I would rather pay more and get something enjoyable December 10, 2013

Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. Only minor problem was that the room was too hot and the air conditioning could not be turned down therefore making sleep difficult. However, that would not stop me returning again for an overnight stay. December 4, 2013
