Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Signage and information We felt there was a lack of easily accessed basic information. Signs to our bedroom were not placed for ease of reading, facilities had to be guessed at or needed a tel call to reception or visit to the front desk. A small thing but one that would be easy and cost effective to address. Otherwise a very pleasant, night's rest with an excellent breakfast included. November 25, 2013

Buffet style breakfast included in a cost an added bonus. The staff are welcoming, helpfull and add to the experience. Costa coffee on site as well. November 21, 2013

I was here for a week on business and not massively impressed by the hotel considering it is newer than the majority in the area. It boasts about free Wi-Fi being available however there is no point in boasting if you can’t even access it. The Internet didn’t work and the solution from reception was to use it downstairs and not in my room...... Not really a solution in my mind. The service throughout the hotel is slow and it feels as though nobody really has control of what is going on?? Especially in the restaurant.. Rooms are basic but liveable... they can be quite stuff and the aircon takes a while to kick in and isnt very powerful November 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Phone in a Pizza I don't know whether I expect too much as a Platinum Elite member but this stay was nothing more than average at best. I decided to go to the hotel's Trotts restaurant for dinner and was shown the very first seat next to the entrance and where every other diner would walk past. I asked for a more central table - there was quite a choice as there were only 3 people seated at that point - and was shown something that was more acceptable. I was given a menu but the serverr and he then disappeared without asking if I wanted anything to drink, etc. During the next 15 minutes, not one server approached my table but another guest arrived behind me and had successfully ordered a drink and received his starter. At that point, I got up and left, advising the server behind the bar that no-one had bothered coming for my order. I then walked across teh main road to a BP garage and bought sandwiches, etc from their mini M&S food store. Later that evening I sent a note to the IHG group and following a response from them, the hotel duty manager called to see if he could do anything for me, such as providing some food. Too late. I'd already enjoyed the luxuires of petrol stations sandwiches. Apart from free wi-fi, there's nothing in the bedrooms that make it feel any different than if I was a passing traveller using the hotel for the first time. I also thought that I may have recevied some extra points for my inconvenience and poor experience, but I should have known better. (hilariously, I recveived a 15% discount voucher for the restaurant that didn't want my custom). Not sure I'll be rushing back. November 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Nice hotel- easy for T5 and Car Rental Return. A great little hotel that is everything one expects for a HIEX. The BP across the road is convenient for car rental return customers needing to refuel. One big pity is the car parking in two respects. Firstly if you park at the rear of the hotel- there is no obvious access from the back- so if you have lots of luggage it's a hassle. Secondly- the £10 charge is in my view too much. I would prefer to see the hotel allow complimentary parking for guests- or at least Priority Club guests. I appreciate that the system is probably introduced due to non-guest congestion in the past, but the fee did make me hesitant to reserve this hotel initially. November 17, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn T5 This is a very comfortable hotel, clean and warm. Car parking charges have been added since our last stay, £10 per day, not necessary, as there is ample space. We were staying for 3 nights but had no sets of drawers for clothes, just hanging space. One small set of drawers would be very helpful, not every traveller is in transit. Decent coffee for breakfast would be desirable. November 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room allotment I booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids including an infant. We checked in late at around 11:00 pm. We were initially given a room with one double bed. I left my family and luggage in the corridoor, reported to reception - who promptly apologised and arranged a different room, with sofa bed. Unfortunately the sofa bed wasn't ready. The staff was very quick in bringing the bed spreads and sheets required. But noting that the airconditioning was not satisfactory, he offered if we wanted a different room. Also, he helped us transfer to another room in the farthest possible corner, as advised by staff in reception. His attention and care was extraordinary and he apologised for the wrong room allocation made by the staff on an earlier shift. November 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Everything good except restaurant Cannot fault the accommodation except that I booked another room for a few days later at the desk and now I am waiting to see if you will credit the points. Should have done it online. Had to wait in a queue for at least 10 minutes to check in as a bus had just arrived from the airport. I was only about 4th in line so check in was very slow despite 3 attendants. The only real negative was the service in the Italian restaurant. The pizza was quite cold and the staff was not as polite as they should be. Looked like a lot of apprentices to me. Improve in this area and you will be a pretty good place to stay and good value for money. November 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by stay at T5 I had the opportunity to stay at Holiday Inn Express on Nov 3. The hotel was clean and I was greeted warmly by the staff. My room was clean and spacious which was a plus as I spent most of the day there just watching TV etc after a long couple days before and was just waiting for the flight. I was not overly happy with the pasta at all in the Italian restaurant as I expected that Lasagna would have some noodles in it :) Overall though, the stay was excellent, no problems, the wee M&S store across was good for getting snacks and drinks. Buyer beware though, if you are not flying out of T5 ( I was on air canada out of T3) the shuttle took 45-50 minutes to get there and I was glad that I chose to go a half hour earlier than I had planned. Not a big deal but I don't think the hotel staff realized it took that long and I would request that they be informed. Thanks, good hotel, good price for Airport. November 7, 2013

I did also have a not so pleasant experience when haveing breakfast, I did report it to the Front Desk Manager Saif M. He looked into ther matter right away... Even though the windows were triple glazed and having a room at the front of the hotel, I still could hear the traffic passing on the main road, which hindered my sleep. Then later all I could hear was someone snoring in one of the next rooms. Saying this the room was clean, and comfortable and the staff were very kind and helpful. October 25, 2013

The only downsides to it are it's quite far away by bus from most of the terminals with the exception of terminal 5 which is only 10 mins away. There is also unfortunately no tube or rail station nearby. But for value for money it is great and breakfast was good. October 23, 2013

We ate it the Italian restaurant and the meal was very nice but the service was very poor. We got presented with our bill after our main course and weren't offered sweets or coffee and we always had to ask for drinks. Very poor service with a 12.5% service charge added on. The service and staff out of the restaurant was good so have marked on that & not the restaurant. October 21, 2013
