Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Family Visit My spouse and I have stayed at the Holiday Inn several times this past year while visiting our daughter and grandchildren. A few times our 2 grand kids have joined us for a "Sleep over" and they love it. They have a lot of fun in the pool which I like because it is a small pool but big enough for fun and easy to supervise. Every time we have been at the Hotel we have noticed the manager checking in with guests to inquire about their stay. Everyone has been friendly and very accommodating. My husband has to eat gluten free food and is able to enjoy breakfast with yogurt,, fruit, and boiled eggs which are in the fridge but we warm them up in hot water provided for tea.They often have bacon too which he has been able to eat. We do bring our own G F bread. The manager told us to let him know ahead of time when we come again, if there is anything he provide that is gluten free We are so used to bringing what we need that I don't expect to make a request,but I thought it was a generous offer. We will definitely visit again. January 28, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by About Average for the Area Stayed at Holiday Inn Smithfield for leisure weekend. Compared with other 2 hotels in area, this was average. Was hoping for a better experience. Room was clean, but bed was soft. Lighting at entrance was very low, need to make it brighter so people can find the entrance more easily at night. Extremely disappointed when upon returning at 9 PM we found that our room was not made up or cleaned on our last night. When informed, hotel staff offered no compensation for this, just provided us with a few clean towels. Didn't even offer to pick up the dirty ones. Upon checkout, informed day clerk, still offered no compensation. Requested compensation, was offered rewards points instead. Poor customer service. January 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Christmas visit The staff was very friendly, we checked in later in the evening on Christmas Eve, when I am sure they would have preferred to be at home with their own family. They made us feel welcome, even left a Christmas Card under the door! We got up early on Christmas morning to go join our grandkids and family, 5 miles up the road, and we were greeted by cheerful and friendly staff. Our daughter just moved to North Smithfield and we plan to stay at this hotel every time we visit. January 8, 2015
