Winter weather caused us to change our travel plans on short notice and we selected this Holiday Inn based upon reviews. We were not disappointed and saw readily why this property earned his established excellent reviews. We were greeted warmly and the staff went out of its way to make our stay comfortable. Arriving in town a bit tired, we ordered from the nearby Pizza Hut and enjoyed the selection of channels available on DirecTv in the room. Prior to dinner we used the pool and hot tub and found the pool area clean and relaxing. Breakfast the next morning was typical of a Holiday Inn Express with a good selection of hot and cold choices. Overall, we had a great stay.

This was our 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel in Socorro, NM over the past few years, and as always the staff was pleasant, the room was comfortable and spotless, and the free hot breakfast was tasty. Even the other guests at this hotel seem very friendly. It's just a great stop on long car trips between Texas and Colorado. It's walking distance to restaurants and close to the highway exit without hearing any noise from I-25. We are IHG club members but didn't bother with that. Still got great service and a nice room.

The staff at this property is amazing. No issue is too small or trivial for them to address. They are always willing and able to correct any issues within their control.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by birdwatcher505 Outstanding bed and TV. Prompt service.
We were lucky to get our room early in the afternoon. That was not only convenient for us, but it meant the maintenance man came immediately when we called about a chirping smoke alarm. He fixed that and a wobbly toilet seat very quickly, and there were no more problems. One of the best beds in a hotel ever. The TV was so good it was difficult to turn it off even though there wasn't anything on that we wanted to watch! Top floor room meant it was very quiet. Liked having black out drapes. After seeing the indoor pool, was sorry I hadn't brought a swimsuit! Recommend!!

Visited Socorro in October and stayed 4 nights. The facility was not overcrowded during our stay. This is a very nice, modern facility, probably the best in Socorro. We enjoyed our stay, found the staff to be attentive and accommodating.
Be aware that a 'burger joint' is located right next door. This resulted in some odors present in our first room. The staff accommodated promptly with a room on the opposite side of the hotel (the north side). We were able to hear a bit of freeway noise in our new room but, this was not a serious issue for us. The freeway was just not that busy.
We used the laundry machines and found them to be in good order and reasonably priced.
All in all, a good stay and definitely the place we would return to on a future visit to Socorro. We found the 'extra space' in the upscale room to be worth the price.
PS: don't miss the VLA... truly out of this world.

The room was spacious enough and the beds were very comfortable conducive to entering sleep almost immediately.A little noisy outside the door in the AM.

I have stayed at this property before when in Socorro for training and specifically requested the same property due to previous experiences. It is located on the main road just off of the interstate but is very quiet and very clean. From the check-in to the check-out, they really strive to make sure your stay is enjoyable and relaxing. The front staff and the breakfast staff do an excellent job at making sure you have a positive experience. The selection of breakfast items are as good as you would find at any local restaurants and somewhat varies from day to day. One can choose from pancakes, eggs, omelets, sausage/bacon, various juices or cold cereal, the choices are endless. They even provide fresh fruits for any planned day hikes or trips that can be put in a backpack.
They are also very eco-friendly as they have reminders on the washing of the linens for those that are concerned about the environment.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property to anyone either traveling through or looking for a base camp for a few days.
