Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Response by Staff My wife and I lodged at the HIE this past Tuesday and Wednesday, June 14th and 15th. We were attending the USGA, US Open at Oakmont, PA. When we arrived the room was very nice, clean and what we expected. However, we realized the toilet was in need of service (water continually ran) and the clock radio in the room did not work. As we departed for Oakmont Wednesday morning we told the front desk clerk about both issues requesting their attention. When we returned later that evening, neither were corrected and in addition the trash in our room was not emptied?? We told the desk clerk as we checked out Thursday morning and to our surprise didn’t even receive an apology, but we did receive an invoice of $312.83. I thought you might appreciate this feedback regarding your hotel providers. June 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice rooms and comfortable beds, great staff! Our recent stay at Holiday Inn Express in Somerset PA was great. The hotel was very clean and looked new (or newly renovated). The rooms were large and the beds were so comfortable. The air conditioning was controlled by a thermostat instead of trying to figure out the nobs on a unit like most hotel rooms. Loved that the room had a microwave and fridge. Wish there were more towels than just 3 but otherwise it was great. Shower was nice too! Would recommend and will stay here again! June 15, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't stay with Reward points!! I was using my reward points as a Platinum member by reserving two rooms on March 16th for an overnight stay on May 18th. The hotel was called the day before and we were assured the rooms would either be adjacent or across from each other. This was critical as my wife’s 80 year old parents were to be in the next room. Upon arrival, we discovered that we were assigned a room on the second floor while they were assigned one on the first floor on the completely opposite side of the hotel. The front desk person was condescending and rude when we voiced our objections. He recommended we call IHG because his hands were tied and could not offer anything else to accommodate us. I told him we made the reservations 2 months in advance but he said nothing could be done. Essentially we were told because we were using points, we get what we get. If we want a suite, that would be more points. Later, my wife confronted him and he did apologize and added 1000 point to my account but this definitely did not alleviate the stress my wife felt having her parents on the complete opposite side of the hotel. It is truly hard to believe that having made the reservations 2 months in advance, nothing could be done. May 20, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and comfortable bed. My wife, my mother, and my sister traveled over 800 miles to attend a baby shower. The staff welcomed us and our rooms were ready for us. Outside the wind blew, the rain fell, and on a May Sunday morning snow flakes filled the air. We enjoyed two nights sleep and would recommend a stay in Somerset to include a stay at the Holiday Inn Express. May 17, 2016
