Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent room, nice swimming pool and hot tub We stayed there twice, the first time we had several issues; - Room even though clean but smelled like moisture.... - Swimming pool had a problem and water was very cold. - Net was slow and flaky. - Breakfast area was very crowded and no room to set, had to wait for 10-15 minutes and kept borrowing chairs. Over all it was ok, staff were nice and helpful. Very nice hot tub. Second time we stayed; - Room still smelled like moisture. - Pool was nice and warm, so they fixed the problem. - Net was OK. - Breakfast area was not as crowded but the food variety was basic, had to wait for some eggs. over all was OK Staff were very nice and helpful. Amenities were great~delicious smelling soaps and lotions, a Keurig maker in the room (yay!), iron and ironing board, wonderful housekeeping and hotel front desk staff, convenient location. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Home away from home... Loved the Hotel and location. The room was very large and spacious with a great view!! On the second day we had major car problems and the desk night staff were able to recommend a cool garage next door that gave us very good service. We also were able to stay another night in the same room and at the same price thanks to the Manager. We will definitely use this Hotel again the next time we are in Vermont. Burlington and surrounding areas are so much fun to visit, wouldn't mind to live there one day. August 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not that great I have stayed at SEVERAL IHG properties. I travel for business approximatley 80% of the time and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. There was no aknowledgement to my reward status nor given a status gift bag. The hotel staff were not very friendly from check-in to check-out. My air conditionair quit one of the days I was there so my room was way above comfort temp for me and I was not offered a room change just informed someone could look at it the next day and to open my windows which were on ground level and being a female travelling alone and in unfamiliar area I dont want to take my chances. The breakfast offered was similiar to all IHG properties but there was no water and the juice machine was broken. August 11, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Swimming pool disappointing The liner in the pool was torn, so fresh COLD water was pumped continually into the pool. Much too cold to enjoy a swim. No outdoor patio to relax either. Door stuck when trying to enter with the card, drains slow in bath, and the toilet seat did not stay up. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly and attentive staff Staff was friendly and helpful from start to finish. Location of property is convenient to downtown and multiple area attractions. We witnessed the staff working very hard to resolve another guest's issue, which was nice to see. The room was clean, as well as the rest of the complex. To find a negative, we'd say the pool water was very cold and the equipment in the workout room was not that great. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room and a hook or two to hang towels from. Would stay here again. July 28, 2014

Ran into a business issue that Charles at the front desk took care of with me. He went above board to help me and got me checked in early, also. Kudos to him. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fire/Safety issue - Not up to usual Holiday Inn standards Only one ice machine working in the building and not on every floor; no fridge or microwave in room; breakfast selection not up to the standards I expect + VERY weak coffee. As comparison with other Holiday Inns I have stayed at, as well as comparable other chains, it was not worth the money charged even for the area it was in. My biggest complaint however is that if you are staying on the 5th floor (which I was with my elderly mother) there is no direct elevator OR stairs from the 5th floor to the 1st floor - you either had to take two different elevators/stairs or know that you can get out on the 2nd floor on one side of the building. The staff did not even mention it. I consider this a safety issue - if there was a fire or other emergency I imagine that it would be very confusing to someone trying to get out of the building from the 5th floor. I mentioned all this to the person at the desk when checking out - he was "sorry - please come again" - not likely. July 13, 2014

The South Burlington location however is long overdue for an update of paint through the whole building as well the room decor and furnishings are worn and dated. The layou of the hotel is very confusing but that would be a tough fix. Th property was clean, quiet and the staff friendly and helpful. This property reflects poorly on what I still consider to be a solid brand in its class of hotels. I'm afraid until this unit is brought up to date I couldn't recommend it . Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average- could be better. First of all the room's AC was noisy- had to hit the vent so it wouldn't rattle. Our toilet overflowed but management took care of it right away. There were spider webs at the ceiling and the holder in the bathroom for the toiletries was dusty/dirty, was never moved and cleaned behind it. I was surprised we didn't have a fridge as I have had in the past at HIE. Lastly, we had used the coffee maker and was not cleaned or emptied the next day. The coffee was restocked though. Breakfast was a mad house- food was not restocked. Out of the several days we were there we never got to have the bacon because it was always emptied before we got there. The coffee needed to be refilled- out of 6 coffee pots only 1 was full. There needs to be more protein options- too many carbs, starches. July 7, 2014

They were glad to assist with any request and followed through quickly. Rooms were clean and up to date. The only minor concern was the pool. The liner needs an update. July 2, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Met our needs and expectations Overall this was a good place to stay for the price and we plan to come back when visiting Burlington. The room was clean, comfortable, etc. Better signage would be good if allowed by the local regulations since we drove by it the first time. As usual the breakfast room was busy at peak hours. The tables were much too large so more, smaller tables would be an improvement. Fresh free coffee would be a plus. June 26, 2014
