Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff We went to the Holiday Inn Express for a girls' weekend. I called ahead and spoke to the staff as we wanted an extra straight chair in the room. We also wanted a specific room that I had seen in the photos in order to play cards. I. talked to Katie and she couldn't have been more helpful. When we checked in, the room was just as we expected. Also, the rest of the staff, including the woman at the breakfast bar, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We swam in the pool and the water was very blue and well maintained. We were there for the South Haven Winter Festival. The event was fun as it even had a chili contest. All in all, it was a great weekend, and it all began at our hotel. Thanks HIExpress! From the time we arrived and checked in to answering all our questions and concerns, she was top notch! She made us feel like we were the only guests there. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 You get what you pay for This holiday inn had cheaper rates then most of the holiday inns I've stayed at recently. But with that being said, the room felt dirty. Maybe it's because the hotel seems to be an older location and not so new. But the carpets seemed old and wore out. The caulk and grout lines around my jacuzzi tub were pealing and nasty. The jets in the tub were turning green. The room smelled like a cheap hooker. The elevator door acts weird and makes all sorts of disturbing noises while moving. Overall the hotel is obviously not kept up with very well. The staff was very helpful and nice. December 11, 2015
