Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mildew and Smoke The room had distinct smoke odor in a non-smoking room. I had to point out to staff that I was not repsonsible for this odor. This hotel has also had an overwhelming mildew odor since Hurricane Dolly. January 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Awesome Experience After a long night of driving because there were no hotels in Corpus Christi, we ended up going to SOUTH PADRE ISLAND. Hotel was great! Staff was very helpful, cleanliness of hotel was good, and distance to beach was great. A con that stood out was the internet speed of the location. The staff was very helpful in trying to provide an ethernet cable, but I think it was the ISP the hotel had. Spoke with GM and confirmed this. I received a discount off my bill so it just made the experience better and I was shown that customer experience is important to the chain. Also told that ISP would be changing so hopefully when I go back the old ISP is not servicing the hotel. Overall great experience! January 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service From the moment we walked in, the gentleman at the front desk was very polite and professional. Our room was very spacious and the bed was fabulous. It was clean and other than the hint of smoke (it was a smoking room) it was a great room. We were offered a great variety of breakfast items and the lady at the breakfast counter was wonderful, as well. We will definitely be staying here again. It is beautiful, clean and relaxing. That is the thing I don't understand about Hotels, I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Wichita Falls Texas the week before and the bed was perfect and a week later at the Holiday Inn in South Padre and the same size be was hard as a rock. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The room was very nice the only thing missing was trash bags in the trash cans. Another suggestion would be to have housekeepers that can speak english not everyone knows spanish luckily I knew enough to get by. I would also like to know why all the other Holiday Inn offer a military discount and this one didn't my husband and I visit South Padre once a year at least and it would benice to stay where discounts are available.
