Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by beds not ready We arrived at midnight with pullout couch not ready for kids to sleep in. Front desk told us we had to come and get the sheets and do it ourselves. I did but expressed that I was less than impressed. Next morning front desk staff discounted room with no prompting as they said the front desk staff should have come right up and resolved the issue at the time. March 16, 2015

We only live an hour north but use this hotel for many stays (night before a flight, Park and Fly, after a late night concert when we don't want to drive hom, etc.). Always clean, comfortable and welcoming, the staff here is Excellent!! We love it here and we'll be back again soon! Thanks everyone!! March 8, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dog Poop on the floor Pros: The room was nicely decorated and furnished. It was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was hot, varied and satisfying. The staff was friendly and addressed my concerns as best they could ??? Cons: 1) There was a mound of dog poop on the carpet in the kitchen area of my room. It seemed dry enough to be more than one night old. It was obvious that no one had vacuumed or policed the carpet between guests. About an hour after notification to the front desk, someone responded by wiping it up with a towel then a disinfectant. However the smell lingered through the night. 2) The coffee table had a wet film of cleaning solution on it which soaked into my clothing when resting my legs on the table. The table holding the TV had a similar solution puddled on it. It seemed that while the surfaces had been wiped with a solution soaked rag, they had not been dried. 3) The carpet over the door threshold had a 16" smear of dark brown mud(?) which extended out into the hallway. It looked like it might have been smeared from dragging a boot. 4) In the breakfast area, almost all of the chairs had old food wedged in the crack where the seat of the chair met the back of the chair. Again a cleanliness issue. Summary: I have stayed in HIX many times in the past and have always been pleased with the product and value. In this case the very poor cleaning both in my room and the dining area chairs created a bad experience. In addition, as I just had surgery the day before, I couldn't help but worry about getting an infection the entire time I was there. March 7, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing atmosphere and great service This was a weekend of meeting with my daughter and grandchildren and provided an excellent half-way point for us to meet. The pool was a wonderful amenity with grandchildren. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. February 19, 2015
