Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BAS25 A/C a problem but staff was great
The A/C unit in the room was extremely loud. Since the hotel was full and my arrival was late, the technicians had gone home and I could not be switched to another room in the hotel. The front desk agreed that this was an issue and did its best to accommodate me with the constraints at the hotel. Staff gets excellent marks. The hotel room wasn't ready for occupancy.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by taccotom72 Disappointed with Air Conditioning and Couldn't Sleep
The hotel is in a good location. The rooms seemed very nice. The bar/restaurant is fine. The staff were all very courteous and friendly.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst stay I've had at an IHG property in many years. I am a Platinum Member and stay at IHG properties in excess of 75 nights per year, mostly on business.
I arrived at the hotel before 6pm and needed to catch the 4am shuttle to SFO. At check-in, I was 'upgraded' to the Executive Level where I was able to get some free cookies and water which was nice.
Unfortunately, shortly after check-in, I noticed the wall thermostat was inoperable and I was unable to adjust the air conditioner (A/C) located by the window. I called the front desk and a maintenance person arrived in a timely manner. He said he would need to replace the A/C. I left to get something to eat in the bar and returned about an hour later. The maintenance person and his assistant were finishing up and said they had to replace the replacement A/C because it was too noisy but that it was fixed. The wall thermostat still didn't work.
The A/C was on the lowest setting (60) and the fan on the highest setting and set at Cool. After about an hour, I decided that cool air just wasn't coming in and the temperature in the room still seemed in the high 70's. Unfortunately, unlike most other hotels, the windows are locked totally shut and wouldn't even open a few inches to let cool air inside.
I called to the desk and told them it was still too hot and I couldn't sleep. I also told them I needed to try to sleep and didn't want another replacement A/C unit as I only had a few hours left before I had to wake up for the airport shuttle.
At no time was I offered another, more comfortable room (and, I didn't ask for one)....
I ended up with about 1 - 1 1/2 hours of sleep before I had to catch the airport shuttle and fly back to the East Coast.
I will probably try this hotel again because of its proximity to SFO and the reasonable cost and hope that this particular experience was an exception. However, if it happens again, I will cross this hotel off my list. I have stayed at other Crowne Plazas and had great experiences.....

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unsatisfied Business T Crown Plaza SFO Airport Fails to meet Quality Mark!
The Crown Plaza SFO Airport location fails to meet the standards of the IHG. There were many problems with my room.
Basic accomadtions that should be defect free were not:
1. Toilet was cracked.
2. Toilet fill valve was defective.
3. Missing carpet around AC unit.
4. Upon arrival popcorn flakes from the ceiling were on the floor.
5. The quiet zone on the 7th floor was not quite.

Even on the 9th floor the traffic noise where too loud. The planned power-outages on 7/19/14 also didn't go to plan meaning everyone was left without any power.
Won't be coming back.

Fine hotel for the price, but the blankets were way to thin and the shower didn't put out enough water.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MLSreality Nice hotel; Friendly Staff; Don't go for the food
Great, helpful staff. But breakfast is VERY mediocre, and lunch is non-existent. Luckily there are several nearby restaurants. Hotel is basically a training center for Oracle, but perhaps as a result, very good rates for this quality of hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sycamore Drew Air Condiioner Loud but overal a positive experience
Great location and great value for the money. Fitness center good and location to jogging trail / park right at the entrance. I booked this rom on line as I could not find another hotel at SFO Airport for under $300.00. This hotel is great for the price and has a good restaurant and bar if you do not have a car to get around. Parking is not free and is a little pricey at $18.00 per day.
The AC in my room was loud and I should have called and had it looked at. Lack of plugs in the room but there was a power strip next to the bed side table that helped charge my phone and IPAD.

This airport hotel is of reasonable price.
Same level hotels at San Francisco downtown area will cost much more.
if you are willing to spend some time traveling to downtown by BART or Caltrain, you can consider to stay here to save.
Btw, hotel area - burlingame, is a nice area for a short visit.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 3DogPeople quiet location, comfortable beds
This is my second time at this property and both nights, I slept great. The beds are very comfortable. I wish the bathrooms were a bit bigger and that you could turn on modest lighting without the vent coming on.
The HVAC smelled musty and the vent cover was dirty. I would suggest more frequent filter changes and that you have the HVAC vents cleaned.
Lobby is gorgeous! Eucalyptus trees around parking are messy and smelly.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by kk91 Noisy and Not as Comfy as I'd hoped
I hadn't been planning on an overnight at SFO, but I was able to book a room at the Crowne Plaza with little hassle. The rate wasn't spectacular, but it was comparable to others in the area. When I got the hotel, I realized that there isn't much nearby. So we had to eat at the hotel restaurant. The food quality was poor for the money that was spent, but hey..that's what it's often like in hotel dining establishments. When we returned to the room, the a/c was not working correctly. I needed the a/c to work so that the room would be comfortable and so that it would drown out the loud highway noise below. I went to the front desk to tell them about the a/c and was told it would be checked. Since I had an early wake-up, I didn't follow up, but no one ever checked or repaired the problem.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Travlr Never Again
As an IHG platinum member I was put on one of the executive floors, received coupons to the bar, and got extra "welcome" points but I still would never stay here again. The rooms are smaller than tiny, the executive lounge is the most dreary and lonely I have seen in any airport hotel (no one in the room, water in the fridge, fruit in a bowl on the counter and a coffee machine, and magazines in a magazine holder), and in the bar dripping dirty plates were brought to our table. It was terrible! The whole bar experience was so bad that we decided to just go to the airport very early the next morning for breakfast instead of eating at the combined bar and restaurant in the hotel. The only non-negative is that the airport shuttle was on schedule and air conditioned

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steph6814 Excellent customer service!
We were dropped off at the Crowne Plaza Sunday night before our morning flight. I forgot to pack my contact lens case. The front desk attendant said they didn't have any but she would go get one when she got off work... which was in 5 min. A little later there was a knock on our door. She delivered a contact lens case and refused to take any money for her trouble! Most people do not feel like running errands for someone they do not know and doing it on their own time!! It was greatly appreciated. She went above and beyond!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by darlew28 Great friendly staff
The only negative thing I could say is about the restaurant. I don't know if that is part of the Crowne Plaza, but the prices were way too high for what you got and the service wasn't that good. Other than that, I enjoyed the stay. All of the staff were super friendly and great!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Steevo Service Made up for it
My wife and I booked over a month in advance. We checked in and got a room that smelled like smoke and was loud from the sound of the freeway. Luckily we were able to change rooms. The bellboy was great.
The doors slam very loudly. Neighboring rooms' doors disturb a sound sleep and there was a constant smell pouring into the room from the kitchen (we liked to have the windows open)
The service overall was good and friendly. Except for one older lady at the front desk who was quite inattentive and not very friendly.

I was very pleased with the courteous and friendly treatment from the front desk staff, both at check-in and check-out. I also appreciated the amenities (aromatherapy products, complimentary drinks, free airport shuttle). The exterior of the property is attractive and well maintained. I would rate this hotel higher if the interior were updated. Also, the breakfast staff could be more attentive. All in all, I received excellent value and I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at your CP last week. I arrived late from the east coast. When I checked in shortly after 11:30 I was informed that the bar and restaurant were closed. I ended up getting something to eat at another hotel in area. The rooms need to be remodeled. The furniture appears it is from the 70's, and the bathroom was far from being clean. Until this property is remodeled and I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bw52 worst hotel experience ever!
The Hotel is under construction. They are putting in new windows. In all of the 10 floors in the hotel, they put me in a room right next to where they were doing construction I complained at 7:30 about the noise they promised me it would be over in 15 minutes. It continued until 10 o'clock at night. Just ridiculous that a hotel can allow workers to carry on with their work that late into the evening for guests in a hotel. I don't understand why they assigned that room to me.they did end up comping me on the room and gave ne a bottle of win. My sleep certainly was disturbed until very late that night. I would recommend any other hotel in the San Francisco Airport area other than this one. Experience I had two weeks ago when I checked in was that they assigned me to a room that already had someone in it and never made any apologies. Not a very good place to stay.
