Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Modern & good location... but could be so much better Well appointed HI Express in good location. Rooms very clean & general feel is one of a quality hotel. Staff OK but not very friendly - very matter-of-fact; a little bit more engagement would go a long way! Got awoken by the Room Cleaning Staff with a knock on the door at 9am (was having a late sleep-in) - no door hangers to say 'Do Not Disturb' in rooms; why don't they wait until the room has been checked out of?? Vending machine isn't very good value; worst I have come across in a HI Express. Finally... welcome made for me a Platinum IHG Club member, so why does the hotel need a swipe of my credit card on arrival - no other HI Express or Holiday Inn's do?? Also... free drink is a very small bottle of lager #not even a half-pint# that looks like it has been bought from a supermarket; no draught drinks allowed - this isn't very welcoming & inconsistent with other IHG hotels.
