I normally stay in Holiday Inn Express where ever I go, this is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and my last stay there was the final straw.
Upon check in, I was met with a clerk with an attitude. I was given a room that really had a bad odor and wasn't the type I reserved. When I went back to get another room, the clerk really was quite rude, not accomodating at all and acted as if she was doing me a favor.
I wasn't even recognized as a Priority Club Member and when I asked for my water and chips or cookie, she said she didn't have any.
Secondly, the last night I was there, upon my return at 11:00 the housekeeping staff had not even made up my bed. My room was not cleaned at all.
The next morning I asked for the manager, and was told he wasn't in. I explained how rudely I was treated and the problem with my room and the clerk said she was the one who checked me in and felt I was wrong, that she didn't have a problem and I was the one who did and she was going to review the tapes.
I complained about the room, and she told me it was my fault for not calling and saying something then. I said what good was it to complain at 11 at night when all I wanted to do was go to bed.
I complained about the rates and got a smart answer about that as well.
I didn't realize that as the customer, I had to do the job of the employees or be treated the way I was.
This is an expensive Holiday Inn Express and the manager surely needs to look at how his customers are treated or he will lose a lot more business than just mine.

Great hotel, laith the maintenance guy was awesome. Lamar the front desk guy was great and The GM izac Shammas does a great job of keeping this hotel in such great shape. great staff overall.

I am a meeting planner so i travel to all brands of hotels all over the country. Although right off the highway, this hotel is 15-20 minutes away from a mall and all the restaurants that accompany a mall. The pool and the hot tub should be checked on a regular basis. Went to use hot tub in the afternoon and it was freezing cold. They did start working on it right away but it was not a quick fix and should have been discovered by staff instead of guests. Had to wait about 15 minutes in the morning for breakfast to be re-filled...no sausages, no cinnamon rolls (which HI express are known for). I stayed for a few nights, one of which was New Year's Eve. Many hotels hire private security to wander the halls on such a night. Place was noisy till at least 4am which included 6 police cars outside at about 7pm and police charging down my hallway. I am a Gold Priority Club member and usually enjoy my stays at HI Express...not this time sadly and this was vacation not work :(

All of FD staff was amazing. Izac, Lamar, Mary, Courtney, Joe, and Martiniz made me feel part of a family. The beds were amazing. Breakfast was good. Hotel was very clean. Will for sure come back again.

We have stayed in dozens of Holiday Inn and HI Express hotels over the years but this one was tops of them all. Not new (e.g. fraying rug in the kitchen area of our room #226, smelly side entrance stairs, leaky windows etc.), we were greeted warmly on the phone, checked-in immediately, helped with simple little requests promptly, swimming pool water was clean and warm, whirpool hot and bubbly - just as it should, newspapers were plentiful, breakfast tasty and the location of this hotel is suberb - right by expressways and number of restaurants and shops.
We stayed in new and newer HI hotels before but once the staff is not taking pride in their place of employement, guests notice right away. We will definitely return and recommend our friends, too. Thank for making our stay so memorable! Happy and Prosperous New Year to management and staff.

At times I like to kick back and watch my favorite channels but for the last several stays at this hotel for some odd reason they do NOT have a channel guide in the rooms and unfortunately I do not have the Detroit are cable channels memorized. Every time I mention this to the front desk they seem to claim the providers have recently changed and the rooms havent been updated. This is the same response for a couple months and I believe it is plain laziness as all one has to do is spend 30 minutes in front of a tv, note the channels, type it up and make copies.....t

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Katielou Problem with noisy children being left unattended until after 1:30 in the morning.
Children were left unattended in the room next to ours and were very noisy. I began complaining at 11:50 and even though security was supposed to be sent to take care of it at that time it took 4 more phone calls and was 1:40 a.m. before they were quite. I was offered a discount off my bill which I took. The assistant manager admitted there was a big problem and they were rewriting their weekend policy because of it. I felt I should have had a full refund.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Geek Great location for the reason we were in town.
Very east to lo locate and located well for the routes we needed to follow to our appointments. Have recommended to a business that is located in Southfield.
Value for price was excellent.
Thanks for a great stay.
