The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The location was great for my needs but not really close to anything tourists would be interested in. The breakfast was HORRIBLE.

The staff had attitudes from the beginning when I checked in. The hotel was so noisy that my husband and I couldn't sleep. I know you can't control guests volume but it was ridiculous. And to top it off you have a church that rents a room and the music was so loud we could hear it in our room and again couldn't sleep, so no I wouldn't recommend your hotel to anyone. Last the breakfast bar closed ten minutes prior then when it was supposed to because of the lazy staff!

The hotel provide comfortable and clean rooms. I stay at this location regularly because of business nearby. The breakfast is good with good variety, but could use a few more fruit choices and perhaps healthy choices. The gym is adequate, but could use a bench for weights (there are a few, but could use a nicer set).

We happened to stay during the pool refinishing, which was quite unfortunate as the chemical smell was incredibly strong. It was so overpowering that it made it challenging to sit in the breakfast area.
Our room was nice, however the bed and pillows were far too soft. The bathroom was well kept and best of all the shower drained really, really well which often doesn't happen in hotels. The shower also had good water pressure and the water was nice and hot.
The breakfast was pretty standard and they had hot coffee and tea throughout the day.

Clean and modern amenities; quiet; noon check-out. Please inform your housekeepers who has yet to checkout. We were bombarded with banging at 10:00 am whilst still trying to sleep.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay . Great value for the room size, amenities, and location. The room was clean and the hotel was pretty quiet. The staff was responsive when called upon. I would recommend this hotel to others.

I had an overnight stay her back on December 14th. The Associates at the front desk were terrific in helping me find my way around and getting the things I needed. I had surgery on my knee a few weeks before the stay here and the staff was great at helping me get around. The room was clean and very spacious. I did like that the Associates were very neatly dressed and spoke very clearly. This hotel is on my list to use again when I come back for anything in the area. I would recomend it to anyone.

The staff were friendly and helpful but I thought the room I had was dated and there was almost no decor so it felt cold and unfriendly after a long day at work. I went to two soda machines to get water and both were out and then I went downstairs to get bottled water and they were out of it there too. The soda machines look like they were built in the 70s and the ice machines looked gross. Corporate Holiday Inn needs to look at this hotel.

I will never step foot in this hotel/motel again!! The comforter had dry bleed stains on it!!!! Need I say more!! They did move me to another room, but I slept in my clothes for fear I would catch something. Do not stay at this place!!!

There's a reason I stay at HIE when I can, and my experience here reminded me why. Courtney at the front desk surpassed my expectations! I can't say enough good things about her.
Room was great! Staff was friendly and helpful. Plus, there were a slew of choices for food at the strip mall right across the street!

I would not recommend it to anyone! I first arrived and it seemed nice. I had to be somewhere else for part of the day, and when I came back later that evening around 8:30 pm I was incredibly freaked out. There were people hanging out in the parking lots and I was not comfortable being outside. There were people loitering in the parking lot, blasting music, and just yelling! When I called the front desk to ask if she could tell them to quiet down she said she would. However, the noise continued for the next few hours till early morning. Looking back I should have just left and went to a different and nicer hotel. I would never stay in this hotel again. I have stayed at other Holiday Inns in the past and had good experiences, but this one was NOTHING like previous ones I had been to. It gave Holiday Inn Express a bad name since it was not a good experience. I wouldn't even go out to my car at night because I was just not comfortable here. It was just an awful experience and if you are running a race the next day do not stay here. You will get no sleep and you will be tired before you even run!

I stayed here recently, there was not that many people in the hotel on this night but front desk chose to put me in a room right by the busy street. Seems like you would only want to put someone by the street only if there were not any better rooms. Poor decision. I could hardly sleep it was miserable with all the noise from the road. Also the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows seemed like they were a couple of years old. Each pillow had its own personality. I would recommend staying somewhere else. I guess in the end you get what you pay for.

So after a 10 hour drive from Va we arrive earlier than check-in and was able to check-in at 11am vs 3pm which we were relieved. When we entered the hotel I thought it looked really nice in the lobby. When we got to our room I was really disappointed just appeared dirty probably because the furnture was really old and outdated. The floors needed a good steam cleaning. Once we got in and got everything settle and cleaned up to our liking everything was okay for the most part. The area was nice and close to many locations that we were going to visit like the zoo. I did have one issue which was the lady at the front desk I had asked her to advised the cleaning staff that we wanted our room clean and I had a feeling she didn't when we came back after a long day at the zoo and visiting family our room was still dirty no clean towels etc..guess she was to busy on her cell phone. However, the night clerk at the desk was very happy and offered to come fix the room but we declined and just asked for some clean stuff in which she did. She was really nice and helpful and about her job. Breakfast was okay and had the people were nice and accomodating. Also it's this place right across from the hotel called something Joe chicken fingers or something like that OMG they have the best food expecially the chicken fingers it's always hot as they cook it in front of you highly recommended.

I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express for the second time during a comedy festival. We had a late checkin for 2 queen beds suite and had called ahead of time to ensure we got the 2 queen beds even if we were going to be late. The guy who took the call said that it would be fine and we wouldn't have to call in to confirm or leave a deposit. However, once we got there, we were given a King Suite because they had given all the 2 Queen suites out.
They were able to get us a 2 Queen suite room the next day after staying the night in the King Suite but it took some customer service work to do that. once the gentleman at the counter realized the situation, he worked hard to get us a queen suite cleaned and ready for our use. That was appreciated.
Breakfast ends a little early for most people's taste on the weekend.

I have avoided this hotel on recent trips but booked it for this trip after hearing that they had improved. They have improved since my last stay in 2012 but still have a ways to go. Staff was freindly and it appears that they want to improve image but I am not sure that they know the target. After 4 days, I moved to a better hotel in the area at a lower cost.

The suite was very nice , we were able to make ourselves at home. The only complaints we had was the sheets would stay on the bed and the exercise room had air condition. It felt almost like a sauna.
