The Holiday Inn Express at 161 Sha Lane in Spartanburg is an excellent hotel for the money. I try to stay here every time that I am in the area. The hotel is clean, well maintained and has a very friendly staff. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good place to stay in Spartanburg.

I always enjoy my stay at Holiday Inn Express. I missed the cookies on this stay as they were out of them. Breakfast was good as usual. love the sausage gravy. I like the fact that HI uses such big comfy pillows. Bed is very comfortable also. Holiday Inn is always my first choice in Hotels when traveling.

Good night's sleep! Thanks for the availability on Labor Day Holiday Busy busy time where most hotels were booked and overcharged if there were any rooms even available.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by yup12 Not Our Typical Holiday Inn Express Experience
We picked this hotel because of the great reviews but that is not what we experienced. We arrived late to an executive suite with a stopped up sink and toilet. After a lengthy wait and attempt to unstop the toilet, we had to repack and move to a different room, close to the elevator, with a dirty carpet and highly stained chair/ottoman. We were too exhausted to continue the ordeal for a better room so we just went to sleep. During the 3 nights that we were there, there was no cleaning of the room and we had to ask for bath towels to be brought up. After the first night, we asked them for towels only since we were so tired that we did not leave the room until after 11:00 am. After the second night, I think housekeeping saw our do not disturb sign on the door, which we removed around 10:00 am, and never checked back. The final thing that was annoying was that we could easily hear noise from the adjacent rooms, as well as the hall, and we had to keep the fan turned on the whole time. By the way, the fan smelled like it needed to be cleaned of mold.
I will say that the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent and maybe all of this would not have happened if we had spent a lot of time to complain to management there. The problem is that we had too many things to do, returned to the room exhausted, and never fully recovered from the extra stress of that first night.
