Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Experience Checked into double queen room and noticed there were NO chairs in the room, especially at the "work station" (e.g. desk). Went to front desk and asked if there were supposed to be chairs in the room and the lady said there should have been 1) office chair on rollers, and 2) arm chair to relax in. When I told her there were NO chairs she said she would check into it. So myself and my two grown children sat on the beds waiting. When I received a call I was informed that the "General Manager was going to be nice and give us her personal office chair to use for the night." When I asked to be moved to another room I was told "we are providing you with a chair." I quickly called and talked to a customer service representative who thanked me for being a "Spire Elite" member and that I "obviously use the IHG brand for all my travel since I have achieved this level." He assured me he would contact the GM at the hotel and have them contact me with a "resolution." As I was finishing up with him there was a knock at the door and an office chair with a broken left arm rest was delivered. Immediately the GM contacted me via phone and told me that she had maintenance go to the "storage room and get me an office chair as I requested" and when I questioned about the "arm chair" and mentioned the broken arm she stated "what more do you want me to do?" in a hateful and condescending tone at which time I discounted the call in frustration. Another call to IHG customer service assured me that the issue would be taken care of, of which we NEVER heard another word from the hotel staff. So the rest of the night was spent with three adult men fighting over the one broken chair in to watch TV (actually as the dad I got it :-). After a miserable nights sleep when I woke up at 7:00 AM I went to the from desk to get a copy of my bill, which is usually placed under the door during the night. It was at this time that I was told that the room was "comped," which was nice, but would have been known before a nights lost sleep. We have stayed at this property twice before and had booked this property because of our previous experiences, BUT, the way I was treated by the GM and the avoidance of resolution drove me to post this negative comment. I hope that IHG follows through with their "learning opportunity" to "ensure this issue does not occur with any other guest." Last but not least KUDOS to the two fine IHG customer resolution members for letting me vent and following through with their promises!! They are the reasons I have been an IHG member since 1995. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel The Holiday Inn Express Spokane was a very convenient, comfortable hotel near the downtown area. The staff were all very attentive and the hotel was immaculate. It is certainly the nicest HI Express I've stayed in. Additional value added services include a complimentary shuttle and a few happy hours during the week. October 1, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Overall Great stay overall. Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and helped get me a cab for 4 am the next day. The hotel had a local massage business on site that evening that offered a hand and foot massage service -small fee of course. Hotel was clean, no dust, AC worked great, dark shades. Definitely the place to stay. September 30, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff, some mediocre breakfast items Not much to add, except a warning about the breakfast items. While everything else was of good quality throughout the facility, some of the breakfast items were inedible, and that's coming from someone who is not a picky eater. I should have chosen real food: hard-boiled eggs instead of the scrambled ones, who truly tasted of powder; bagels instead of the greasy, translucently-thin bacon; yogurt instead of the mystery-meat sausages; juice or water instead of the thin brew pretending to be coffee. Wonderful place, and I'll be back, but I must make more careful choices around the breakfast area. My fault, not theirs. September 29, 2015
