Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Will gladly return Great stay and excellent staff. Ready to accommodate any needs. Had a very nice room with an outside door which I could exit straight to my car (reserved parking space) or to the inside hall of the inn. Very nice options. Was less than 5 minutes to Gonzaga University campus, which brought me to Spokane. Free shuttle to downtown so parking not a problem. Also minutes from downtown and the Spokane Falls. Inn getting a facelift and expansion, but no noise problem. Had restaurant delivery options, which I used and ate the best steamed clams and hot artichoke dip imaginable. Clean, well-kept rooms and outstanding staff. Free breakfast and a dinner option in a central location....I would definitely stay again without hesitation. April 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great staff The hotel is very clean and the rooms are comfortable but it is the staff that makes this such a good place to stay. Jessie at the front desk gave us some wonderful suggestions for dinner and entertainment downtown and the breakfast the next day was good and plentiful. April 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Small room and not handicapped friendly The hotel is under renovation. We had stayed at this hotel prior to renovation and enjoyed it much more then. This trip I was taking my mother back home and we were spending the night in Spokane. When I checked in, I asked for handicapped accessible room, as she is in a wheelchair. I had to pay extra or this room ... why? The room was tight and difficult to maneuver the wheelchair. The wall and furniture made for a tight corner to enter the room and get to the desk. I could not get the wheelchair turned around easily and it wore her out to try and move around in tight limited space. There was not enough room to place her wheelchair near the bed, so she has to scoot along the bed to get in and of the bed. When she needed to get into the bathroom, the door opened to the right ... which meant she had to open the door slightly, scoot to the left and then open more to get in. When she left, she opened the door she had to pull forward enough to close the door and then fight to turn and master the tight corner. I believe the only reason this is considered handicapped accessible is due to the fact that the shower had a bench. When the concern was brought to the front desk staff attention by my mother, they apologized and stated that they would work to right the situation. When I went to check us out, I was asked how the stay was and I tried to state that the room was not handicapped friendly. The clerk sat on a stool behind the desk and at no time did she stand up or act as if she was aware that there was a concern voiced. I felt "brushed off" by her lack of customer service or general empathy. I appreciate she could not change the room layout, but she always has the ability to say that a patron's concern will be forwarded to corporate or if there was anything that she could do to make it right. The lobby door was not equipped with an automatic button to open for handicapped clients, it was difficult to get her in with a wheelchair and the hallways were narrow. April 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay I went to visit my Gonzaga student for Easter and my student wanted to rest away from campus. It was a very relaxing stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hot breakfast. They have cookies and milk in the evenings. We did not experience any discomfort due to the construction and my daughter was able to sleep in late each morning. My student returned the dorms rested and ready for school following the Easter break! April 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quick overnight, Nice Suite We were in town for a quick overnight stay for a NCAA women's basketball game and an early Doctor's appointment. We reserved a king room and ended up in a two room two queen suite which was alright. The sitting area was very nice seemed like it was a recently updated room. Bathroom had a spa tub, a llittle funky also as a shower. The employees were real nice and friendly. The check-in was a little slow but when it was my turn it went quick. There is construction going on but the only inconvience was the breakfast area. The manager's reception was a little lame not much to it. Overall the stay was good. We left a couple things in the refrigerator, we called and went back and they had them bagged for us. March 31, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware the construction There is no lobby, and breakfast is served in converted bedrooms. They may be doing the best they can, but the environment is not comfortable. I think the staff must be tired of the construction also, because they weren't particularly friendly or helpful. March 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent room and service I stayed in the Gonzaga Suite and the room was wonderful. The staff was very welcoming and great to talk with. They are remodeling and yet the hotel was still very clean. Breakfast was fine. Hotel is right at the park so you can walk around, see the falls and walk downtown or to campus. Great location! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our Getaway hotel We love staying at this Holiday Inn when we go to Spokane to get away. The rooms are always clean & breakfast is delicious (well stocked & hot). We are made to feel welcomed the moment we check in. They were in the mist of construction when we were just there. However, this did not interfere with us being able to relax and rest. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Level of Comfort and enjoyment I highly recommend "The Rock" to anyone stayng in Spokane for any reason. The day staff and the night staff are awesome, the room attendent did an awesome job of everything. Every one is to be commended. February 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT Staff My husband and I stayed at this location for 2 nights when we had to go to Spokane for some medical appointments. The location is great, easy access and the staff was soooo friendly!!! We had a great stay and I am sure we will stay there again. Only downfall was no pool so we would not stay there when we bring our children, but then maybe less children isn't a downfall for some :) I am sure we will stay here again in the future!!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel in the heart of Spokane Staff were welcoming and professional. The room floor was wet (for unknown reasons) and did not dry throughout our 1 night stay. We had to wear shoes in the room. Construction ongoing in the lobby area. Breakfast server / attendant was excellent. She endeavoured to ensure that each guest had an enjoyable breakfast, keeping food trays full and fresh. Hotel was downtown, but have experienced better properties throughout chain. No pool, which was my error for not checking (a must for our kids!) February 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Great Stay! As usual we enjoyed all aspects of our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Spokane. We particularly like the ground floor rooms with own parking and entrance. The pet friendly attitude is a major reason we pick HIE. Thanks for a GREAT experience February 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great view form the hotel This hotel is build on a large rock formation with a wonderful view of Spokane. The staff was very helpful with us to recommend a couple of restaurants, which turn out to be excellent choices. I would recommend this hotel to stay at. January 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Ride Your front desk member Nick went above and beyond to shuttle my family down to the event and then picked us up right on time. Great job NICK!!!! January 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing! We had the greatest experience at this hotel. Our highlight was the shuttle driver Nick, he checked us into the hotel and offered to drive us anywhere we would like, as it was new years this was amazing for us! He was very friendly and did an amazing job! All of the staff we encountered was great. The room was very clean and classy. I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel! January 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Comfort with Kind people of the State Love the new interior design inside. It is truly a CASTLE on the MOUNTAIN. Agents were great and SWIFT. establishment is High Altitude like above Water level of the sea and stands out even at Night. Seems like Anyone visiting, even by train coming out of the depot across the rr Xng would come Over and stay the Night. January 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by More rooms than parking spaces The front desk staff is less than helpful. Also the hotel does not have enough parking during construction so you have to pay for parking at the bottom of the hill the hotel is located on. November 29, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Above and beyond! On my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Spokane, I woke up to a inch or two of snow (never welcome when you have somewhere you need to be!). Much to my surprise, as I headed to my car, this nice man came running up and completely cleared off my rental car so I could drive. There was no scrapper or brush in the car, so he really was a life saver! November 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff and Great Stay I have stayed at alot of HIE because of travel with work and this by far is the best one yet. Aside from the quality of breakfast items, I would say this rivals most Staybridge Suites I have stayed at. The staff was absolutely wonderful and everyone seemed to love their job. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a five mile radius and they practically beg you to let them drive you somewhere! I even saw the Hotel Manager drive someone herself to the airport(very uncommon for the management to get involved like that). Dzenana puts out a great spread at breakfast and really goes above and beyond her job description. Everyone at the front desk(Nick, Ian, Karen and, sorry, I could not remember all the names!) were always very helpful with directions and anything I needed. The hotel offers a managers reception on some of the weeknights that easily surpassed my expectations. I've seen other hotels that have the cookies at night, but this hotel even had fresh baked sugar cookies throughout the lobby in the morning. I listed the "Amenities" as a Con, but that was only because they do not have a pool. Besides that, there are absolutely no cons to staying here. P.S. They are going through a remodel right now(I thought I heard it was for the next six months), but I can almost guarantee that the staff will make up for any inconvenience you experience. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience This hotel is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The location is convenient to the Spokane Convention Center. What more could you possibly need? November 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Family Fall W/E@ GU This is my second FF W/E spent at Holiday Express on the Rock. The new upgrade is fabulous--the staff exceeds expectations! Bebe is a soothing constant and unabashed people lover. I enjoy the convenience, the location which makes getting to and from campus a breeze as well as enjoying the downtown Spokane scene. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fall visit The staff and location were the best for a Gonzaga event. We enjoyed the fall views from our room . It looks recently updated or remodeled. The rooms and hallways were clean and everyone there was upbeat and curtious. The breakfast was good and lots of coffee each morning. Even during the crowded times for Breakfast the server person was creative and keep everything warm and tasty. October 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Managed To Fit us In. My wife and I were in Spokane for the weekend and although booked up on Saturday night they were able to fit us in without us having to change rooms!! This was the first time we stayed in a room on the East [street] end of the Hotel, if possible i would recommend requesting a room on the West end, the road noise was not horrible by any means a siren or two did wake us up.. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Great place in Spokane Let's face it, it's a Holiday Inn Express. That being said, this is one of the best. Great value great location and really great staff. They will do what they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. October 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place The place was clean and neat. The only problems I had was the fridge wasn't working quite right and got hot in the cabinet. So I was afraid to use it after I had turned it on. Also I had to ask for lotion. I got one, one day. I had to ask again to get one another day. I usually travel pretty light and "know" I will be getting those items automatically so I don't have to pack them. I stayed 6 days. October 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and clean facility. Pet friendly. Check in time was fast, staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room was reasonable, clean, and even on the ground floor had a view. We did not have a Do Not Disturb Sign and therefore, some of our things were taken out of our room while we went on a quick errand, but before check out time. We found our belongings ok and will stay there again. Good location. October 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by amazing staff from the front to housekeeping I have always passed this beautiful hotel on the rock to downtown spokane and this time gave the Holiday Inn a try. I could not of been more happy and truthfully this location is better then right downtown also. I have always been one for luxuary and 5 star until now. This hotel is friendly, clean, knowledgeable and all teh amenities one could ask for in a hotel. October 13, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by overnight stay only had one night to stay in this hotel, room and hotel staff was OK, front desk needed some help , business center needs help stuck in a closet, breakfast area great, not much view of river had to look through the other building , finding the entrance was not fun more signs needed over all OK.
