My boyfriend and I live in the Houston area and thought we would plan an overnight stay so we could relax by the pool. The sole purpose of our visit was the use the pool and hot tub. We checked in Saturday and went to the pool which was nice and quiet. I noticed the sign said the pool opened at 6:00a.m. so I told my boyfriend I was going to get up early and go hang out at the pool before we had to leave. So the next morning about 7:45a.m. I headed down to the pool. No one was there so I turned on the hot tub and sat down at a table and within 5 minutes a whole crew of workers came in and laid plastic down, turned the hot tub off, set up all of their equipment and began to paint. I was very upset at this because I don't understand why you would have that done on a busy weekend knowing your guests want to use the amenities. I called them Monday morning to explain what happened and the manager said she was not going to refund the money because yes the pool area had been shut down for several hours, but guests were able to use it later in the day. My problem with that is we had to check out at 11:00 so we could not use it later in the day. I was already displeased with the fact that they shut the pool and hot tub area down, but then to act as if it was no big deal to them made me decide to never go back to that hotel again. We stay at Holiday Inns on a regular basis because we are reward members, but I will not stay at that one or recommend it to anyone.

A quick getaway with a central base to work out of, this hotel was well located. A typical Holiday Inn Express, it offered no outstanding features but since I was staying there for bathing and sleeping purposes only it was a good hotel.

The staff was very friendly each day no matter the time of day I entered. My room was very clean and quite so I could finish my work and get a good nights sleep.

Wonderful employees make this Holiday Inn Express a place to stay, they went above-and-beyond to make our stay agreeable. The grounds were well-kept and the interior was spotless.

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It's just 5-10 minute drive from the Exxon woodlands campus. The lobby as well as the hotel rooms look fairly new. The staff were friendly.
The only disappointment was that I was not offered a platinum amenity upon checkin. I don't know if it's a training issue. I stayed at this same hotel exactly one week before and I was offered a choice of points or a snack bag. I wrote an email requesting amenity points to the email address (email@example.com) listed on the official page for this hotel on IHG.com (http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/spring/wdltx/hoteldetail) and never got a response.
