The inviting staff, the spacious rooms, the flat panel TV's, the super comfortable beds, and a delicious hot breakfast are just a few of the reason that we have stayed in the past and why we continue to stay at the Holiday Inn Springfield, IL. I recently stayed 5 continuous night at this property,4 of those nights my key did not work for the room..I was in room 4703 which is at the opposite end of the bldg from the front desk....So for 4 nights I would get all the way to my room with my hot dinner in hand,tired & just wanting to relax..only to have to go all the way back down & over to the front desk to have a new key made! So now I am having to eat a former hot meal cold! I stayed Mon-Fri & got charged 20 more for Wed & Thursday,but yet the service remained poor & could not get in my room to relax!!!! I spoke with the asst mgr Krueger after the 3rd night of not being able to enter & she said she would have maintenence take care of the issue & would give me "bonus points" So obviously maintenence did not do there job since on night 4 I was still locked out...Also the toilet could use some bleach! As far as I am concerned she can shove the points,I need 4 nights of comp & 4 hot meals...Never never again will I stay at this hotel & I use alot of hotels in Springfield,Il... June 20, 2015
