This is a very clean, well-managed hotel. After multiple stays at this property, it's very clear that someone is taking care of the little things. For example, I never notice anything broken in the rooms, no burned-out light bulbs or dead batteries in the tv remote. Also, it is very common to encounter high school groups staying at this HI Express for their visits to DC, but I've never had an issue with excessive noise or poor behavior from these groups.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Zak32 Great place and staff
The staff was wonderful. I lost my phone and called the hotel to check my room. They called me back to tell me I had left it on the bed. I was so pleased they took time to help me out so I could relax a little.

This hotel was a real gem for those going to the Springfield or Alexandria, VA area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was real quick. Room was excellent in every way. The breakfast was adequate, but still good. We would stay there again and we do recommend this hotel to others.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MadMax24 Easy Access
The hotel is in a good location for easy access to either I-95, I-395, I-495 or VA-644. I rate it Good to Average because it is a shade below most of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in recently. Still, for the DC area, it provides good value, when you consider the free breakfast. I value the breakfast to be at least $10 (cost of lowest menu item at a restaurant, plus tip).
I wasn't greeted as an HI Rewards Program Member, nor was I offered the choice between the points or the amenity bag (bottle of water and snack).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mwinva We froze all night with NO heat, nothing was done
I have stayed here on several occasions and chances are good it's my last time. This was by far the worst stay ever. My son and I both froze all night long. We had informed the staff, yet nothing was done. My son was ill, which is why we chose to stay here for the night to begin with since our neighbors were jointly having a Condo wide building New Years Eve Party. We thought we would get a better nights rest here. Boy were we wrong. The beds were hard as a rock dead center and as cold as the room was, the blankets were so thin they were of no help in keeping warm. If we weren't so tired, we would have left to look elsewhere.
To top it off, when entering the suite's bathroom, the shower enclosure was coming off the walls.
As for the food, the eggs were tasteless and slimy and the sausage was dry as the desert. it wasn't this bad last time. :-(

My family stayed at the Springfield Holiday Inn Express in December. The location was very easy to access form I-95. The hotel was immaculate as was the room. The beds were very comfortable for weary travelers. The breakfast was quite good and the variety of food surprising. My only complaint was that a few guests were taking the muffins by the half-dozen. I'm not sure whether they were hoarding them or using them as driving snacks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this particular hotel for family or friends nor would I hesitate to stay here another time. I would rate this a 5/5.

My father wanted to visit us from out of state for the holidays. He's on oxygen and uses a wheelchair so he's unable to stay at our 3 story home. I made reservations for my father at the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield. We were very pleased at the friendly front desk staff and the clean and updated lobby. I requested a handicap accessible room and everything was perfect when we checked in! They even had a shower chair available and delivered it to his room, which was a huge help! Housekeeping did a great job keeping his room fresh and keep up each day. He enjoyed the hearty breakfasts each morning and raved about the delicious coffee, varieties of foods and fresh fruits. Thank you for your hospitality and for making this a memorable Christmas for our family.
