We were hosting a huge New Years Eve party at a local venue on 12-31-13 and partnered with Holiday Inn Express Springfield to block rooms for our guests at discounted rates, including shuttle service to the venue. Management and all their staff were professional, on-point and simply wonderful to work with. Our guests had a great experience and we received many thanks for choosing them. Breakfast was perfect, WiFi strong, beds so comfy, rooms immaculate - just an all around fabulous experience. We will surely recommend and refer this hotel to all our clients and use them in the future for any area events. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice and affordable! We arrived an hour before 3 PM. they let us in right away! :) staff lady was nice at the lobby. Room was clean with a nice view. TV works! Free Wi-Fi. Both beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean and shower water was hot. The one thing was the faucet, it didn't seem to have warm water, only cold. It was just a tad hard to pull up. Anyway, I LOVED the free breakfast the next morning! (it was Xmas Day!) very nice hotel. Overall experience was really good. I would recommend this place December 28, 2013

We were Virginians, until we retired to Delaware 10 years ago, so naturally, we still have family and friends there, but choose to sometimes have our own accommodations. This convenient hotel offers a clean room at reasonable prices, throughout the year. The hot breakfast is great and plentiful, but mostly it's the wonderful STAFF that keep us coming back - ESPECIALLY the daytime manager, who is a delight! We have tried others in the area, but without a doubt would most definitely recommend HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, SPRINGFIELD!!! December 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable Business Stay I had to stay for two weeks for business & completely enjoyed my stay. The staff was very professional and bent over backwards top make my stay pleasant. The room was clean and the housecleaning staff did everything to make me comfortable. The wireless access never failed and was fast, even in the evening when everyone was on it. The breakfasts were always tasty, hot and on time. The only thing I did not like was the lack of an on-site restaurant and bar. But there are great restaurants and watering holes within walking distance. The area is clean and safe. I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. I was just informed that I had to go back to the DC area for another two weeks & I requested this hotel specifically. November 27, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Suggestion for shuttle service. The complimentary shuttle is a great service that we took advantage of. However, when we called from the Metro station to get picked up, we were told the shuttle would be there in 15 minutes. After 20 minutes passed (on a very cold and windy evening) we called again and were told that the shuttle hadn't even left yet. We ended up taking a taxi because we were going to be late for a meeting and were getting very cold waiting there. If we had been given a more accurate estimate for the shuttle's arrival, we could have saved some time and discomfort. November 25, 2013

She made the check-in process seemed very smooth and fast. She also recognized and appreciated that I am a platinum member. I thank her for upgrading me to the highest floor - to an executive room. And it has a nice range of places to eat within easy walking distance for dinner. It was a bit pricey given that the A/C rattled, not all the TV stations worked, and the bed was rather stiff, but it worked for one night to help avoid the mess that is DC traffic. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good including yoghurt and wonderful cinnamon rolls. They even had an Indian fundraiser while I was there complete with saris, henna and Indian jewelry for sale. In every way, the Holiday Inn in Springfield Va. exceeded my expectations. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a GREAT surprise! My husband and I were a long way from home when arriving in Springfield, VA and knew nothing about the area but were wanting to take the Metro to DC. We learned Springfield was the last stop. The Holiday Inn Express wasn't much for street appeal but WOW, when we walked in it was a total surprise. Clean, nice, updated hotel with employees that had smiles on their faces very willing to offer their help. They, too, were all very clean and dressed well. Our room was fantastic; clean, updated and quiet. Also very affordable as we had checked around at other hotels in the area. The breakfast was also great! Many choices and very clean. The coffee was fresh and yummy flavor. Both my husband and I would recommend this hotel to either yourself, or your family. Great, affordable, clean experience and a FREE shuttle to the Metro! The breakfast staff stood over us like hawks and at exactly 9:30am they came and took every item away. People were still in line trying to get breakfast. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I would stay here again! I stayed here with my daughter while we toured D.C.for the week. The location was convinced. Check-in was easy. The room was nice. It was clean. Great tv and had a mini fridge & microwave. The bed was comfy and you're given a choice of firm or soft pillows. The only negative about the room was that it was a bit warm at times but keeping the curtains closed took care of that. Breakfast was great! The best part was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We took the shuttle to the metro daily and the drivers were fantastic! I'd definitely stay here again! August 31, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Transportation issues I have stayed at this hotel many times because I know that the service will be good and the room will be comfortable. However, I won't stay here again when I need shuttle service to and from the metro. There were times when I had to wait at the metro station for over half an hour when the hotel is only 10 minutes away! Once I gave up and took a cab after waiting close to an hour. August 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Less than average I understand that Holiday Inn Express does not have all the fancy amenities as other hotels, but this one just seemed to fall shorter than the average hotels. The towels felt like sand paper, there seemed to be a language barrier when I checked in (I asked for a tax exempt form; the young lady smiled and kept telling me my room number and the wireless code). The ongoing construction did not help the situation either. The location was very convenient for the conference I was attending and it was walking distance to a couple of local restaurants but I think that I may choose another hotel in the IHG family if I do go back again.
