The hotel staff, especially the front desk clerks, were all friendly and provided quality customer service. Check-in and check-out process was simple and efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would return to this hotel if ever I am needing to book a hotel in the future in the area. August 30, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience I will start this review by saying that the hotel is very nice and the rooms are very clean. When we checked in to the hotel though (late at night I might add) we were given our king bed room only to discover that the air condition made a terrible noise. We reported this to the front desk and was told that someone would come up about it. After waiting a fair amount of time we decided to go to the front desk ourselves. They only had one person working the night shift and it was very obvious that he was unable to handle all of the guests that were checking in and calling the desk from their rooms. Eventually after waiting on other customers and answering the phone twice, he waited on us and gave us a different room. There were no king beds still available so he upgraded us to a king suite. Unfortunately, however, the air condition in this room didn't work at all - just blew out warm air. After going back down to the desk and waiting yet once again the man on duty walked us up to the king suite where we had just come from. I think he was thinking that we didn't know how the operate the air conditioner. Then, he informed us that there were no king beds left in the hotel and put us into our 3rd room of the night which was a 2 queen double bed room. FINALLY, a room where the air conditioning worked! I know it was not the fault of the man on duty that night but this hotel seemed very busy (on a Friday night) and I felt that the hotel should have had more than 1 staff person working. We were told that he would be back to our room in a few minutes to bring us our key cards. After waiting another hour hour there was still no key cards. We finally had had enough and called down to the front desk to tell them that we were going to bed and that we would get key cards the next morning. At this point this entire ordeal had already taken over an hour and a half. We did look up the manager the following morning and she offered us a discount. While she didn't say how much the discount would be I thought that our first night there should have been at least 50% off for our inconvenience. When we checked out on Sunday the manager had only reduced our bill by $20 for each night that we stayed (2). I felt that was a little cheap. Obviously their rooms are not checked between guests to make sure that the air conditioners are working correctly and I felt this entire incident could and should have never occurred. My son lives in St. Charles and I will definitely consider staying somewhere else next time we visit. July 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Close to everything Our stay was made wonderful by the front desk people who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. When asked for the name and directions to a good restaurant, we were given maps, instructions, and ideas. We were directed to the historic downtown area which was wonderful. Then, later that night, I wanted some decaf coffee and the staff could not do enough to make sure I had exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I was told that reservations online go through some type of central scheduling center & they screwed up. Hotel was completely booked. Our only options were to have our son sleep on the floor - no roll away beds at this location. Or we could take a dirty room that somebody had just checked out off that evening. I emailed customer service about this & they didn't even bother to respond!! July 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not a good value pricey for what we received. i had to ask for the priority club gift and it was not much, a bottle of water and a rice crispy treat. we stayed for 3 nights and could have used the bath towel over but there was no hanger. also i'm somewhat physically challenged and not bath mat in the tub made me uncomfortable. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always Treated Like A King The staff at this hotel always recognizes me by name eventhough sometimes there are several months between visits. I am always upgraded to a suite and appreciate the extra space to spread out since I do alot of work from my room. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are super clean. I like having a refrigerator and microwave in my room so I don't have to go out to eat everynight. Ameristar Casino and Cabella's are really close and there are pleanty of good restaurants to choose from. I do business with several companies in the area so it is a convenient location that meets all of my needs. Keep up the good work Holiday Inn Express St. Charles! June 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just a customer. Was not greeted as a Priority Club member. Room had wall mounted thermostat that was strictly decorative, unit controls were on unit itself. Breakfast did not include full choices (only what the cook wanted to put out that day--was told she got to make the choices). Overall good location, nice room, but the extras were not there. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and location The room was great and the staff was friendly. One of the things I look forward to is the breakfast. Unfortunately it was a sad experience. It was not available until 6:30 instead of 6. The aggs were heavily salted and the sausage gravy is served only on Wednesday and Sunday. It may seem trivial but it spoiled my stay at this inn. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This hotel How do I start? First of all the fire alarm went off more than once in the night. The room was dirty. The GM accosted my family without identifying herself. Threw the room door open and bruised my wife's ankle (did not apologize). My kids did have the family pet but they only carried it just long enough to retrieve their jackets. The GM without warning or even asking for a explanation charged me $200. My advice do not stay here! June 9, 2013

The staff does not recoginze the Platinum Level status. I have never received an upgrade at this location even when there are rooms availabile. Breakfast was good. Newspapers were in the lobby. A quiet uninterrupted sleep in a comfortable bed with options of pillow firmness. It's clean, the property looks good in and out and the people were friendly and helpful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay in a great town We enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn Express so much we plan to stay again on our way back home. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent. Alison at the front desk was so cheerful and helpful. The only suggestion I have is that the room was so spacious, but there were no flat surfaces on which to put anything. Plus very limited drawer storage. May 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A tucked away gem with superlative service This is a beautiful and spotless clean quiet hotel tucked away in an industrial park about 10 minutes from Mid Rivers Mall and St. Louis Mills Mall surrounded by a multitude of quick food choices. The management and staff at this site go out of their way to provide the ultimate in concierge type service with a dedication to details. It is obvious they care and are hands on. The decor is modern and looks new with the property being only 4 years old. Large rooms and suites available. Comfortable beds. Nicely appointed baths. Shower head mounted high in tub with streaming not beading. Ample parking. Breakfast had a "to go" and tray option to take to rooms. Plentiful breakfast featured hot and cold items: pancake machine, egg cheese omelets, bacon and big cinnamon rolls with the cereal, fruit, yogurt, juices and breads. Quiet rules due to 2 floors design with pool behind breakfast area of tables off lobby. Small "lounge" or sofa area by check in desk rather than near TV in breakfast area. Business center with computer. Priority club upgrades possible. April 29, 2013

I was in training and the staff there went above and beyond to make sure that me and my assoicates were well taken care of. Big smiles and great customers service is what makes this place work. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff is awesome! Super friendly staff. They are always available to help. Would highly recommend even though we had a couple of "bumps" during our stay. Bump number one: the lock on our door didnt work. Had to get hotel staff to open the door every time for over 24 hours until they finally replaced the whole unit. Bump number two: cleaning crew quit leaning half way through. Only made one bed and appeared to only vacuum half the room. Bump number three: room cleaned fully on sepond day. But they left cleaning solution in the room. That all said...I would stay here again. April 18, 2013

My family and I came for a short last minute get away, my husband checked in before I did but due to him accidently leaving his wallet at home they would not let him check in without a confirmation number even though I told them I had the information for my priority club and I was told that didnt matter, the clerk finally called his boss and finally let him check in before I got there. Then after I arrived I had to ask for my priority club welcome "bag" which consisted of a rice Krispy treat. I am not one that usually makes a big deal of things but I felt they didn't treat their club members very well. Felt very uncomfortable when I parked on the closest side to the end door and a gentleman was there smoking weed. One of the teen children from a sporting team walked by my family and snapped a picture of us, was very uncomfortable here. February 13, 2013
