Staff was very friendly and happy to provide information about local places to eat. Were also very informative about hotel amenities such as Express Breakfast wich was very good. Menu selection was nice and should be adopted at all properties.

If you have to stay in SCF, this is an OK place. The front desk is very nice. The rooms are sometimes very clean, sometimes not. I think it must vary with the housekeepers. The breakfast never varies and has much in the way of high fat entrees. The price is not cheap in the summer/season for this out of the way (not in the Twin Cities) hotel.

The room was bigger than I expected. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping our room clean. Breakfast was hot and something we enjoyed every morning. Whenever we left or came back to hotel we were always greeted with a friendly hello. I will definitely stay here again when I come back next year.

The front desk staff were all very friendly and nice. The breakfast had a good variety of food and plenty of time to eat. I did not use the pool however it is one of the larger ones I have seen at a hotel. The room was clean however it did have a rather musty, closed up kind of smell to it and the window did not open in the room. The unit on the wall for heat/air conditioning would not stay on when we tried to use the A/C. The fan only setting would work but not the cooling setting. All of these are minor complaints but I do have one major complaint about my stay and that is the housekeeping! BOTH Saturday AND Sunday morning the housekeeper just used the card to come right into our room WITHOUT KNOCKING and without announcing that she was housekeeping! We were laying in bed both times and sat up when we heard the door open. The housekeeper stood in the doorway with the door wide open and said, do you need service? This is something I have NEVER experienced in all my years of staying in hotels. We were so shocked and put off by this experience. I would not stay at this hotel again but will give Holiday Inn at a different location a try in the future.

I recommend this property somewhat reluctantly. I've stayed there several times for business in the area, and haven't found much choice close by. The room seems to be set up for leisure travelers - the only work space is a round table in 1 corner with inadequate lighting - you either have to move the table to get it under a wall lamp, or move a floor lamp across the room. You also have to move a chair. When I did this on my most recent visit, I discovered the area behind the chair and behind the table in the corner had not been well vacuumed. There was a noticeable "line" on the carpet and the baseboards were dust covered. Also, when I opened the sheer window drapes to get some light and perhaps some air, there were many dead flies on the window sill. I was told housekeeping was gone for the day and a manager would not be available until the next morning. I had to leave early the next morning - there was no one at the desk when I left so I did not have an opportunity to ask then, and did not have time to wait.
I stay in hotels 2-4 nights a week and am an elite member of another hotel chain. If there is such obvious evidence of poor housekeeping, I have to wonder (and shudder) at what might not be seen. It's those little details that make a hotel great - this one isn't quite up to that standard for me.
