Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unfortunately not a good experience. My family and I had been traveling for 5 days prior to staying at this location. Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by the lady at the front desk and she recognized me as a club rewards member. We got our keys, went to the room and noticed that the room was warm. We lowered the AC to make it cooler and left to explore the city. We didn't arrive till late and upon entering the room, the room was still warm. It had not cooled down at all. We then noticed that the room was not as clean as we normally expect and that there where holes in the wall were pictures had been hanging. One thing that other locations had done, where call the room and ask if everything met our expectations. I had almost expect it and that did not happen here. Having been on the road for awhile, we wanted to do some laundry to have some clean clothes for the rest of our journey. We called the front desk and asked if they had a laundry room, as many other Holiday Inn Express have, and we were told no, that this location did not. No worries, but when we tried to log onto the internet, the wireless connection was non existent. We were originally booked for two nights but we decided to leave the next day. I could not connect via the internet, so I had to call the 1-800# for assistance in making another reservation for a room. Since the room never cooled we could not get a good nights sleep and needless to say, we slept very restlessly. We did wake up to have breakfast and the lady working in the breakfast area was wonderful and was greeting everyone in the area and attending to their needs. We finished breakfast, went back to our room packed and went to check out. The lady at the front desk this time, was not friendly, nor did she ask about our stay. She grabbed the keys, printed out a receipt and said have a great day as we left. This hotel is a much older hotel and we chose it due to its location to downtown. Even though it is an older hotel, it could have been maintained better. A broken glass panel in the elevator, holes in the wall, ac not working properly are just things I could not overlook and would not stay at this location again, nor recommend it as well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service Cardinals beat the Cubs! The ease of finding the Hotel and the proximity to Downtown St Louis and all it offers, was fantastic. And getting to the other parts of St Louis is easy too. The Hotel had really comfortable rooms. We always stay in a king suite, and this one did not disappoint. Holiday Inn Express is our choice when we travel. This one met all of our expectations. I highly recommend it. July 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value This hotel is a good value: economical, close to downtown sites (including Busch Stadium and the Arch), and comfortable beds. It is staffed by friendly, competent people who go the extra mile. It could, however, stand a little more attention to structural issues. For example, my bathroom had a couple of tiles missing, and the elevator had a cardboard patch on a mirrored panel. I also wish the pool was larger. Nevertheless, for the money it was a good deal, and the staff was outstanding. July 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff, Shabby Room and Pool While all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself did not meet my expectations for a Holiday Inn Express. The room looked shabby and the beds, sheets and pillows were not as comfortable as I expected. I had to use towels to wedge the blinds closed to keep out the street lights. The pool was basic, could have been adequate - but it was often murky and rather cold. July 8, 2015
