Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel not honoring room booked First of all i want to start saying that this hotel was going through renovations when i stayed, and even though there was work being done, the general areas and appearance where great. noise was not a problem cause you couldn't hear it in your room. The hotel staff friendly as every single time i have stayed in a IHG hotel. that being said, i booked a Jacuzzi room through the hotel website (no third party booking sites) and confirmed my reservation, this is important cause the hotel was chosen because of that feature, the area (near an airport) is more expensive but i was willing to pay the premium in rates and staying in the area for that feature. when i got to the hotel i was informed that the room was not finished, not no clean, or booked by someone else, simply not finished, why would they offer a room they have not available? thats what baffles me. i was change to a different room and i had some other issues, tried contacting Customer Service and asked for the hotel manager to contact me and received no information. i will probably not stay in this hotel, even if it had nice appearance and good location. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Holiday Inn I arrived in New Orleans on 5 November and stayed at the Holiday Inn Metairie--an experience of such dismay that I swore never to stay in a Holiday Inn again. (Late plane--cab took my to hotel; doors locked ... no one available ... then someone wandered into lobby ten minutes later, as i called the HI 800-number--the local number not answering. Shabby room.) But I saw good reviews of the Holiday Inn "Airport South" so I got a reservation for 8 November (none had been available on the previous Thursday). Wow! What a difference. Wonderful helpful person at desk. Shuttle available at 4 am the next morning. Room the opposite of shabby ... a first-rate experience. Choose this one. November 12, 2015
