Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This hotel How do I start? First of all the fire alarm went off more than once in the night. The room was dirty. The GM accosted my family without identifying herself. Threw the room door open and bruised my wife's ankle (did not apologize). My kids did have the family pet but they only carried it just long enough to retrieve their jackets. The GM without warning or even asking for a explanation charged me $200. My advice do not stay here! June 9, 2013

The staff does not recoginze the Platinum Level status. I have never received an upgrade at this location even when there are rooms availabile. Breakfast was good. Newspapers were in the lobby. A quiet uninterrupted sleep in a comfortable bed with options of pillow firmness. It's clean, the property looks good in and out and the people were friendly and helpful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay in a great town We enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn Express so much we plan to stay again on our way back home. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent. Alison at the front desk was so cheerful and helpful. The only suggestion I have is that the room was so spacious, but there were no flat surfaces on which to put anything. Plus very limited drawer storage. May 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A tucked away gem with superlative service This is a beautiful and spotless clean quiet hotel tucked away in an industrial park about 10 minutes from Mid Rivers Mall and St. Louis Mills Mall surrounded by a multitude of quick food choices. The management and staff at this site go out of their way to provide the ultimate in concierge type service with a dedication to details. It is obvious they care and are hands on. The decor is modern and looks new with the property being only 4 years old. Large rooms and suites available. Comfortable beds. Nicely appointed baths. Shower head mounted high in tub with streaming not beading. Ample parking. Breakfast had a "to go" and tray option to take to rooms. Plentiful breakfast featured hot and cold items: pancake machine, egg cheese omelets, bacon and big cinnamon rolls with the cereal, fruit, yogurt, juices and breads. Quiet rules due to 2 floors design with pool behind breakfast area of tables off lobby. Small "lounge" or sofa area by check in desk rather than near TV in breakfast area. Business center with computer. Priority club upgrades possible. April 29, 2013

I was in training and the staff there went above and beyond to make sure that me and my assoicates were well taken care of. Big smiles and great customers service is what makes this place work. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff is awesome! Super friendly staff. They are always available to help. Would highly recommend even though we had a couple of "bumps" during our stay. Bump number one: the lock on our door didnt work. Had to get hotel staff to open the door every time for over 24 hours until they finally replaced the whole unit. Bump number two: cleaning crew quit leaning half way through. Only made one bed and appeared to only vacuum half the room. Bump number three: room cleaned fully on sepond day. But they left cleaning solution in the room. That all said...I would stay here again. April 18, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable This was a nice hotel, newer one. My family and I came for a short last minute get away, my husband checked in before I did but due to him accidently leaving his wallet at home they would not let him check in without a confirmation number even though I told them I had the information for my priority club and I was told that didnt matter, the clerk finally called his boss and finally let him check in before I got there. Then after I arrived I had to ask for my priority club welcome "bag" which consisted of a rice Krispy treat. I am not one that usually makes a big deal of things but I felt they didn't treat their club members very well. Felt very uncomfortable when I parked on the closest side to the end door and a gentleman was there smoking weed. One of the teen children from a sporting team walked by my family and snapped a picture of us, was very uncomfortable here. February 13, 2013

There was no "Happy Hour" or even warm cookies and the pool had salt water. The beds were OK, but I hope I don't have to stop in St. Charles again. February 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistency is King I stay at this hotel just about every week while working in St. Charles. They are consistently excellent in all categories. The staff are extremely courteous, and rooms are clean. I only mark the breakfast as good because once you've had Holiday Inn Express breakfasts as much as I have, it gets old, no matter which HI Express you stay at. I do wish they offered a health breakfast shake alternative, like Muscle Milk, but I realize that is asking a lot. January 21, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fair I stay at this hotel frequently since it's close to a business that I visit several times each year. The hotel is only a couple of years old, but it does not appear to be maintained very well. During this stay I noticed that the wallpaper is peeling off the wall signifficantly in the bathroom. The bathroom has poor lighting, which makes it hard for shaving. There's a railroad track located behind hotel, but I always stay in a room on the front of the hotel and rarely hear a train. The staff does not go out of their way to act friendly or to make you feel like a valued guest. If it were not for this hotel being located close to the company that I visit, I would consider staying at another hotel. December 11, 2012

Went to bed got up next morning went to take a shower could not get any HOT water in shower There was HOT water in sink but not in shower. Had to leave early so did not have timew to mess around. Let person on duty at the desk know I did not have hot water in the shower and he said that he thought they had that fixed so it was a problem before that had not been fixed. He said there wazs nothing he could do for me that I would have to call someone on monday morning. Not satisfied at all with the service at this hotel believe they should have comped my stay or at least part of it without having to call someone two days later. Lost the number so wont ever stay at this hotel again. December 3, 2012

We found it difficult to find a place to have an adult beverage and a meal without being inundated by cigarette smoke in the surrounding businesses. The room itself was comfortable, but could use a good vaccuming, ie, move the furniture. We appreciate it being a no pet facility. December 2, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel but.... The hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The rooms were decorated well and the bed was very comfortable. I have two problems with the place. 1. The area surrounding the hotel had very high weeds. It made it hard to tell where the entrance was or see the driveway sign. It was in an industrial area so I'm assuming Holiday Inn is not responsible for the surrounding area maintenence. The actual grassy area of the hotel was well kept but I think they should either contact the city about mowing the surrounding area or do it themselves for asthetics. We missed the driveway and sign the first time we went down the frontage road due to the high weeds etc. I was hesitant about going on in to the hotel because I was afraid the inside was taken care of in the same way-just gives a bad impression and that's too bad because the hotel was very nice. 2. What is with some of the Holiday Inn shower heads these days??? Ridiculous to have a shower head that is set 8' above the tub. I had to jump to even reach it to face it down and I'm 5'7". It was so high that there wasn't enough pressure to rinse my hair. November 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Frequent Visitor I've been a frequent visitor for over a year. Like with anything, if you do something enough, you may eventually run into a challenge or two. I would rate my most recent stay as "average." Normally I would rate my experience in the good to excellent range. This stay, I was provided a room on the third floor. Overall, I would rate the room as "adequate' with the exception of the bathroom where the overhead light contained several dead insects. My only question is - it was a third floor room. How did all of those bugs get up there - and end up in the light fixture? October 17, 2012
